Me too 🙌
I served as ch/eng.on a twin Voith unit tug for 15 years…they ARE very manoeuvrable,BUT they are not as far as I know as fuel efficient as propeller units…I would have used azimuthing props…but if money is no object ,well there you go.cheers,Roly🇬🇧.

The main advantage of this system is that it eliminates the need for additional stabilisation like Fin Stabilisers or Gyros. A big big pro in terms of simplicity and of course investment. Also the vessel will be equipped with very efficient generators, controlled through an advanced power management system. And since the vessel is not meant to go fast, slow cruising is actually very efficient.
Love those ocean rescue conversion. As long as they have a good captain and mechanics, they will be safe
This is going to be am amazing project and looking forward to see her commissioned 👍

An extremely capable global explorer 😍
The original vessel looks more versatile as an expedition yacht. The conversion yacht looks more like a beachside cruiser for serving cocktails.

This is exploration for the idle rich not science, so the floating bordello effect and stockpiles of booze can't be ignored. There is a glut of tasteless oligarch superyachts on the market atm. Perhaps this drives the expedition fad ?

Thanks, John 🙌 I appreciate it 👍
Loved video !!! Best video yet on tube!!!! And I want one too!
As a shipbuilder I wonder why Voith Schieder for a long range vessel, there are reasons not many built as such. Not knocking the system at all, it is very good but exposed blades.
Sounds like it will be a dream for helicopter pilots and they're passengers should feel more comfortable during landings also stabilizing comfort for on board guests when the vessel is holding still for take off and landing.
This is such high quality content and your voice sounds amazing. You should consider being a narrator

Hey, thanks 🙌 I appreciate it 👍
It should look simple and work with no limits. Purposeful builds in pairs.
Nobody seems to mention that the "Havila Tigris" or "Ocean Ness" was built at Kleven, the same yard that built both the "Ulyesses"

It’s a phenomenal system and the first time it has been used on a private yacht
Could you please also do a video on the newest conversion ANNOUNCEMENT at the Monaco Boat Show this year by Icon Yachts.... "PROJECT UFO"
Good Nz morning mate. Looks a pretty awesome project, and will be great to see the finished result. Is there a accurate estimate on final cost.???. I like it. However, . As Mr Billy Shakespeare once said..."aaaah to sleep, perchance to dream." Yes, slightly misquoted. Anyway John, another great presentation. Thank you for sharing and for taking the time to upload. Take care mate.

The system is actually extremely rugged and stable. Has been used with amazing success in the highly demanding offshore industry for years

Project master is definitely cool but I like Ragnar more for her design
Give me the original boat anyday ...
Well how much?
5 + 40 i guess
Ragnar in principles but "RkHick
The owner don't need a main Superyacht
Propulsion? 500' could handle like 88.
The ship is obviously for family fun! Trying to justify some sort of environmental advancement is stupid. Build it , enjoy it quit trying to justify your families fun!
I don't think it's any fair to have 2 giant mixers chopping all marine life as if they were onions. - Please use enclosed propellers or jets.
“Epic” seems such an underwhelming statement. And the dollars…. geez.
worst prop design ever, the smallest chunk of ice or a nice size submerged log WILL snap those blades off like glass. I seen it 100s of times in my maritime career Dont even think of so much as scraping the bottom, you ruin everything. At least with a actual prop or azipods the blades are somewhat protected as they normally do not protrude past the keel line, and much more robust.
