I was in Vanderbilt Stallworth at the same time as this beautiful young lady. And she worked her butt off in therapy everyday while there when I would have therapy at the same time. And she had to suffer horribly through wound change dressings. Hours each time.. Her parents were right there with her every day! She is so blessed to have them! They even brought her dog out there to visit with her in the courtyard. My heart ached for her then as it does now. The worst was seeing her so happy when all her friends were out there to see and support her, but it killed me when they all left, cause I knew in my heart hers had to be breaking. Knowing she would want to be going with them, walking on her on, hanging out and playing volleyball with them like she was able to before this useless human being ruined her "normal" life. It just broke my heart for her and her family. I have kids around her age. I couldn't imagine. I'm an amputee as well, started BK then through knee and it's so much harder now. And her legs were so mangled, she didn't have a clean healing cut, and she will always have trouble with her sockets and liners for her legs. And then having the two different amputation levels will make it even harder on her. I don't feel he received enough of a sentence at all. Her whole life will be difficult for the rest of her life. It's just so unfair. But she will do great things and she will get back to being able to walk some, but it will never ever be the same. Simple things just like going to the bathroom or reaching something or walking on uneven surfaces etc, is some of just the little things she will always have to worry about. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her loved ones.

Janae Edmondson is truly the definition of being a VICTOR and not choosing to be a victim. I’m 53 and my Beautiful Momma told me when I went through a horrific dv case back in 1991, “It’s your choice to be a victim or you can be a Victor to show and help others to overcome!” Of course as a young adult I didn’t understand and felt my momma wasn’t showing me compassion. It took several years to realize she showed me more than compassion! Those words helped me to get my life back and not allow that situation to take my life away!

You can see her so humble and can't believe it. It's not a constellation for your legs, pain, or stress. But you at least feel your inspiration is a gift. You can keep giving. Its alot for her to handle, but parents are a pure gift.

This is no way even close to what this idiot deserves. Janae you are beautiful and truly an inspiration and I know you are going to fo great things! ❤😊🫶🏽

This young LADY is one of the BRAVEST I know of. To think that there is NO FORM OF COMPENSATION for being left disabled, pain & suffering is DISGUSTING & soo terribly sad. 🥲🥲😡

Woooweee, I sence a lawsuit against the city for the lack of responsibility for not having that POS in jail for breaking his GPS house arrest. I hope they get millions from this disregard for the legal system. God bless them. There are very few families this good, there are very few girls/women this spectacular. My heart poors out to them. ❤

Janae Sweetie you’re an inspiration, your an amazing person with the will to go on in life. Most young people give up but with the amazing love from your parents, family you have pushed. My heart and prayers are with you. I have cried through this whole thing. I was watching it and my heart just hurt . I’m a mom and to see your parents especially your mom it broke my heart. God bless you always and know you’re in my prayers 🙏❤. Continue your journey you’re an amazing person ❤ I think Daniel should have also lost his license privileges for life. His mom rented him the car she should have been charged as well. That’s how I see it . 😢

i am VERY IMPRESSED and i'm sure that it was IMPACTFUL when you rocked up in court with a skirt on ❗️ gurl, im sure that you know how much you are supported, and the city OWES YOU a lot of $$$ so that you can get the best care, supplies, home , etc. it's ok to feel sad and cry about your loss.

You’re right Janae, nothing will ever be enough. But no amount of time will ever give back what he took from your life. The only justice I believe in is an eye for an eye. We have become a society of slaps on the wrist and don’t do it again. To know that thrash most likely should have been in jail already, and on an ankle monitor he should never see the light of day again!!
