I’m from his generation, as matter of fact, we were born in the same year. Although I had many opportunities to travel outside of China in 80s due to the nature of my work and saw/knew the Western world much more than many Chinese people in those days, I was stunned when I was watching Kris’s performance that New Year Eve in 1987. It was an awakening experience for majority Chinese people. Overnight everybody was talking about Kris. For the young girls, he’s been the man in the dream ever since. He has raised the standard of the entertainment business in China, as well as the standard of the taste, level of the enjoyment by audiences. The Spring Gala in 1987 has become the only Spring Gala I (or I should say the people I know) can still remember over the years. Not like other people in the business, Kris is a man not only has the good look, but also is rich in his mind, heart and soul. His loneliness is because he can’t find someone compatible, someone like himself who is beautiful, understands both cultures, speaks multiple languages, has good taste in life style, and yet know to respect him or at least be equal with him. Nevertheless best wishes to you, Kris! Happy Chinese New Year!

I find that Kris speaks English more fluently than he speaks Chinese. I really think that this man is the perfect combination of the two cultures. I am really admire his talents and his attitudes towards these two very contradicting cultures and handled his success in the Chinese world as well as living a free and successful live in the west. I watched his performance in Beijing in 1987 and astonished and attracted by his appearance and voice. Now I am watching him and I find that he is more comfortable with speaking about his career and his life in English. He is more western than Chinese. Amazingly that he had so much talents and courage to achieve so much in the Chinese world. I left China and now have a grown up son young and as handsome as Kris, even more handsome, to my eyes anyway. I would like my son could have the cultural heritage of Chinese like Kris does. Now he speaks Chinese as well as Japanese which I am proud of. I wish that he could embrace and take the advantages from cultures of the both sides like Kris does. 。I love you 费翔.
