His father is a surgeon and his mother is a Physics graduate(?). If so, it is not surprising.
Gukesh - Conqueror of the world, Parents have named him exactly what he is today, Go Gukesh 😊
A deeply Dharmic upbringing by professionally highly accomplished but rooted parents, especially his mother, has a lot to do with his Arjuna like personality when it comes to his chosen battlefield. This young man would achieve excellence in whatever he pursues in life.
Such good maturity and humility at such a young age. Very well deserved. Will reach much greater heights!
Indian is king ❤
I ❤️ the reporter ... 👍❤️
Impressed! Remarkable clarity of thought and expression. Great upbringing by his parents and mentors is clearly visible.
Gukesh never used engine assistance while studying lines. He is a champ Gukesh❤
U r real inspiration for millions of Bhartiy..keep it up ur great work
Finally recognising Chess in India. Thank you for the attempt of making it mainstream by interviewing Guki. However, asking 'why chess' as an asking question I feel is insulting to the sport itself. No one asks 'why cricket'. Why are we making it sound like an alien sport?

I feel it's a good question, we have to acknowledge that chess isn't mainstream in India so going there is a risky choice from financial POV. Such questions will encourage more people to follow if they get to know the thought process behind it.

I also initially felt the same (meaning that the question was not nice). Then thought that it was MEANT to be a fair and unbiased question. But you are correct - she would not asked, “Why cricket”. She could have just asked what led to his interest in chess and pursuing chess.

@@amazhobner We all know chess is not a mainstream sport, but questioning and framing the question in such a way does not promote inclusivity for the sport. If she would have framed her question a little appropriately then I would have raised the flag.

Gukesh , pls alwasy stay motivated and dont get your brain fry by all social media and toxic content in the internet
Congratulations Gukesh
Going to an off-topic interesting tidbit: I have played Anand as a teenager, and he was fast, precise, and lethal with his moves. He was very good and very intimidating to play OTB (over the board) as my brain sensed how good he was, even though I did not know that he is going to be this good or become a world champion. Just as you would feel like playing cricket with Sachin when in school. All these super talents must be the same. It will be magical to watch them make chess moves in person. You will feel their greatness.
❤ what a guy
Super interview!
Finally someone said it!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Keep it up. 🕉️🇮🇳🕉️
For people who ask why chess over cricket or rock music. Chess is like anything else. When you are interested and have a passion for chess, you just keep playing and following it like anything else - music, hockey, football, tennis, Maths. You follow the news and your neural connections think of moves which seeing a Gukesh game.
Gukesh is this the same room where u given home tour to Sagar Shah,, chessbase India, which was full of books and trophies, next to ur bedroom??

It is the job of the politicians to do that - and maybe people like you who are so worried about the homeless that you totally lose sight of the context viz. an Indian teenager winning a prestigious tournament!
