As am important ground force you need your own flexible powered flight asset, for transport and supply and anti air and ground attack and anti ship roles rather than rely on another unit which may not have aircraft to spare in a combat situation ✌️❤️🇬🇧

Pack more aircraft into the ship because of the folding tail. Like there's an endless supply of these brilliant aircraft.

Great idea now just need V22's tankers to keep these fuelled up as neither carrier is nuke powered

Wait what?! None of what you say makes sense. 1 - RN Merlin’s are not capable of in-flight refuelling. 2 - V-22’s are USAF operated aircraft, so not involved with British forces often and aren’t often used as tankers either. 3 - The power plant of the carrier has no bearing on the capability of the aircraft as they have separate fuel stores.

@@Dave-us5fq no what wait read it again lol V22 can be used as tankers and what else can land on the deck other then a helicopter and F35b ? No wait, the UK don't have V22's why not, no no no wait what's bigger an helicopter on our carrier or a V22 , wait wait 😀

@@aleccap5946 so why didn’t you make your point clear the first time ? I still dont see what nuclear powered aircraft carriers has to do with it either all ships only last as long as their food supplies unless they have Star Trek replicators ?

@@dickdastardly5534 25 years as a pose to a few thousand miles range is a good answer, the food supply i assume you have never been in Iceland the frozen food shop ? What's next - she was never meant to have cats and traps lol or Cameron was never going to scrap both ?

@@aleccap5946 the mileage debate is a bit like the food debate which applies to nuclear powered ships. The catapults is a reasonable question as it does limit fixed wing aircraft options payloads etc. When a nuclear powered ship is hit and sunk it leaves a hell of a lot more mess than a fossil fuelled ship maybe in the not too distant future hydrogen maybe powering these beasts as 1 litre of hydrogen gives 3 times the range of diesel I’ve read and the transformation of the engines is nowhere near as complex as having a reactor on board. Technologies are changing and I think nuclear is fine for subs as their are far more stealthy. As for Iceland shopping I think that in tough times there are thought measures but your average Matelot will soon be grumbling about the limited options of fresh produce being coupled up on constant alert - food and its quality are seriously underestimated from a moral point of view. Reroute fitting catapults of some description I suspect will come when the major refit is due assuming the axis powers don’t sink her in the Far East 😐

Βασιλης Μανουσος 105mm towed arty is the limit for Heli's CH-47 chinook, that's why Britain still has her 105's and the CH-47.. 155mm is for the Army your main force. China may soon find all this out the hard way soon if they do not pull there head in.
