He probably likes brandy, which in afrikaans is brandewyn, or brannas for slang.

He played for WP and they won the currie cup one year and the next day after the win and ensuing party he was on a flight back to Cape Town and Rassie and Jacques were on same flight and they could aparantly still smell the brandy on him. Rassie had just been appointed WP director and in the first training session in his new position he nicknamed Deon Brannas due to the aforementioned flight incident. Or something like that 😅.
