Hi Kevin. Great video content. I had the 1.8.4 fly app version on my mini 2 for a few years and hadn't updated it since it was flying with no problem until I bought the mini 3 and updated the fly app to 1.12.8. I'm still waiting for DJI to put the "H" home point on the display for the mini 2 lol. Your test flights are always fun and informative. Thank you for all the updates so that we can enjoy a safer drone flying experience. God bless.

Lol yea man that home point icon would be awesome on the Mini 2. I bet they could do it, eh? We still have the 1.4.8 fly app version for our other Mini 2 (Jack) and it’s still holding strong. Sometimes those older versions are so good they NEVER need replaced. Lol. Hopefully the 1.12.8 holds out for you. :)

Another productive excercise for Rose Kevin. We're finally getting some nicer weather here and I just might be able to take Aerith up for only the second time this year! (I'm still undecided on the Pt. 107, but if I hit 1000 subs before the end of the year, I'll do it!)

At the point you comment about the camera/gimbal looking slanted, is the camera pointed at a low ridge in the area, like, is the terrain sloped and the gimbal fine? Just a thought.

Awesome question and it’s definitely a possibility. We are in Florida and the horizon line is normally really level but there’s a chance it could be a bit sloped. I flew her today at the beach and the gimbal seemed really level so I’m not sure. It may have been a glitch, too. Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Awesome question, Bruce. I have to have the mini 2 drones registered because of the part 107 certification and I use them commercially and any drone that’s registered has to have remote ID. It’s not because of the Mini 2’s weight. It’s strictly because it’s registered with the FAA. Regarding the phone holder bracket, you’re gonna love it! I’ve been thinking of ordering another one just to have a back up if it breaks or something. I’ve had this one for a couple years now though and it’s held up great. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Let me know how you like the bracket. You’ll be amazed how much more room you have for your phone. Best part for me was I don’t have to take the phone out of the case anymore. 😁

Awesome question and thanks for watching. I’d say I agree with most of what I’ve heard so far and think it’s not necessary to allow them access to the flight logs unless you’re filing a claim or something. I did notice, at least with the RCN1 controller and cell phone fly app, the option was turned off when I updated the fly app so in order for them to have access I would need to consciously turn it on. That is unless they already have access. Lol. Conspiracy theories I reckon. Lol i haven’t updated the Mini 4 pro yet so that controller may be different. I’ll check though for sure when I update.

Hi Kevin and Kristi, I'm "one of those " who lives in the derk dayz". {Ummm waht duz he meen ?? } I have an Air 2. Still!. But rarely does it escape the firmly strong latches on the top door of it's cave. However, as in the case* [good word; right there} of this raisin update,,, hang on, um, current update, it's momentarily escaped!!. But only to do the update. And yes all looks ok, apart from actually starting it and flying it. I too have to drive some distance to not be naughty. Excuses?, yep, plus needs for grandpa naps due to meds and four years of being run down. Yeah I know; try getting run down every day by a bus. Then I'd have a reason to be out of condition and really feeling 'run down'. Enough prokras,, preconstinat, oh heck. Excuses. Suffice to say, thankyou for your actually very important videos. I put you in a similar league as Gavin. I've always appreciated his willingness to provide an online place to access all the various updates for the various flying machines we have and love/hate. And that he (and others of like ilk; Ian in London, Nobby & Erik etc. And your good selves*) don't forget "us mob" with the geriatric dronii of millenia past. Are RID's REQUIRED on a DJI Mini 2 SE?

Hey, Dave. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, brother. The short answer is no, the Mini 2 SE doesn’t need remote ID. There’s always more to it though, eh? Lol. Remote ID is only required for drones that are required to be registered (in the USA 🇺🇸). The mini 2 SE only needs to be registered if it’s being used under Part 107 so as long as it’s only used for recreational purposes, there’s no requirement for it to be registered because it weighs less than 250 grams. I’m Part 107 certified so I’m required to have the Mini 2 drones registered because I use them commercially. I really hope all those words made sense. Lol. I have a tendency of making things more difficult sometimes. Haha

Yea her gimbal seemed a little off but her IMU always seems to need a calibration. Lol. I’ll calibrate it and get a couple good flights out of her and then it’s time for another calibration. Jack, our other mini 2, does the same thing. It’s not really a big deal though. We’ve learned to adjust. Haha. Thanks for watching and commenting! God bless.

My app updated without my knowing it. I got deep in bush to my fly spot and it asked my to sign in of which I needed interwebs to do. Deep in bush and interwebs do not go together so I had to drive half hour on atv to get interwebs I was pizzed

I sold off my Air 3 for the newly released Avata 2 - But I'm hesitant ... What else will DJI release in 2024? So the Mini 2 takes the main reigns again ... ☘

Hahahaha. She and Jack share the box and they seem to like it. I don’t think I’d enjoy living in a box though. But we did live in our camper for about 6 years. Lol

Fun fact about HS RID module, at least one I have, if you're ever worried about it reporting your actual location...turn it on a mile away from where you're actually gonna fly. Allow it to achieve gps lock, and that becomes your "home point"!! If you live in hilly area it could show some funky info depending on elevation differences between where it grabbed gps and where you actually are flying (drone altitude). Hey, I drink black coffee 😁 and I'm not a serial killer!!

@@WeretheRoberts I had wondered when/how the modules know where home is. So my wife and I were running to town. I fired up the module, tossed it up on dash. When we got to our destination I checked on it, and it showed Home Point as 15km away lol. Enjoy y'all's vids!
