I actually understood some of this. Thank you. I have a very small business and I only have 1 client and will only ever have the one client. In the US I'm considered a sole proprietor. I mainly concerned with tracking income and expenses with categories to present to my tax preparer at tax time. Your spreadsheet looks amazing and well thought out.

Dear Mr. Wong. Thank you very much for developing an Excel-based accounting software that is practical and giving it away for free for the benefits of others, myself included. I appreciate it very much. I live in Europe and am opening a micro business, and after covid not many people have money and things are so expensive that it is crucial to keep track of income and expenses. This is really great. I don't know accounting at all and I hope your Excel software will be able to help me keep the books. I am sure it will. A lot of small businesses especially those with simple payroll will benefit from this simplified app. I will be interested in a version with no limit on entries so I can import old records for longitudinal study. CSV import should be simple but if an import destroys cells with formulas may be a problem. There is little joy in reinventing the wheel so it would be great to know when a commercial version will appear?

Great work Phillip. I started working on something in Excel to try and replace the ATO's e-record software after they withdrew it and left a lot of small businesses and not for profits in the lurch. Sadly other commitments put a stop to that. This looks really interesting, thank you.

Thanks for this video and software. I'm pretty good with Excel and could mimic a lot of what you did to customize for my needs like enough rows and accounts to accommodate the amount I need. The only thing I can't get is what formulas you used to make a journal entry automatically add to the ledgers. Can you share how you did that part? Thanks!

Try using Excel online. Also, there is no VBA. So Mac should work. It might be that you just have an older version of Excel perhaps?

Can't wait for the more commercial version for VAT registered businesses in Ireland, we have three rates and sometimes four rates and they change ! I like to batch all my paperwork and do it quarterly.

Hi Chris. Give me an email or chat to me on Facebook. So I don't know the Irish tax system as I'm an Aussie accountant, but I'm happy for the system to adapt. In Australia our GST (VAT) is only 10%. It's either 10% or 0%. The education version as you have it is really to teach student's the mechanics of debits and credits. A system that does exactly want will need some modification. It's possible, but I'd have to think about how to implement it. =)

Hi Phillip. Looks good. Looking forward to the next version. Phillip if I adopt this it will be used mostly to record my business purchases of raw materials and sales of processed product. Will your next version be ably to generate a reports based on a what I purchase from a supplier and sales to a customer? For instance a report of all my transactions with "Supplier 01" from January to June (or any other time period) and a report of the same for a customer.

Hey folks. I have had a lot on my plate recently on my personal life. Terminal illness mostly (not me). This project cost me $130 a month to keep the email server going and so I gave up. I promised for free but it cost me a fortune with no source of revenue to pay for it. I will get back to you all soon. I’m sorry. I’ll releases video when it’s back up with improvements.

This looks great! I am currently using Quick Books for my husbands business. I have a question about entries in the general. Does the system do split entries? I have a weekly payment that has to be split into a dozen or more ledgers. Can your program do that?

Hi Philip, I just took a look at your video. This is exactly what I was looking for. I am Mortgage broker and Financial Security Advisor in Quebec Canada. I am paying for Quickbooks online and I have to be honest I have it for a year and I still I am not clear on how to use it. I need something simple and I think I can actually use this for my service business. I need to track my income, my expenses, the bills I have to pay and any purchase I have to make relating to my services and I need to track daily and monthly. I am going to give it a try. I hope there have been improvements since this video what put out 3 years ago. 🤔

The webpage will immediately email you a link to download the file. I just want to be able to email people updates as I improve the system and fix any bugs found. Without email it is hard to contact people as this isn’t on any “App store” or other platform. If it still doesn’t work, find me on Facebook or LinkedIn in and I will just send it to you directly there. :)

Great system. We have a 90 person seniors community group. Can you keep payments from the 'individuals' for fees and 'outings' etc without running out of journal entry space or do you need to bulk entry each time. What are the entry limits at this stage. How do you move from 1 period to the next and keep the detail. Do you copy the Spread sheet then erase the journal entries - can't see this part in my mind. Thankyou for this system. Sorry if the questions are fiddly.
