Would you say that after the judgment of AD 70 they still have the right? I realize it's nearly 2,000 years later, but their ancestors broke the covenant God had with them by rejecting Jesus Christ. Read Leviticus 18:28 & 20:22.

Modern day Is.ra.el/Jerusalem. has no king though. They are a democracy not a theocracy. They have no covenant with God. Therefore are not the same as Biblical Is.ra.el./Jerusalem at all. Don't get too sentimental over a city that God has no part of. The real Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD.

I'm thankful for the glorious history of Jerusalem. But King David is in Heaven. The modern city/state has no king. They are a democracy and not a theocracy. They have no covenant with God through Jesus Christ. They are not the Biblical Is. ra. el. in any sense.

Yet, I only recently discovered that the Holy-of-Holies in the Second Temple (The Great Temple of Herod) contained absolutely NOTHING; because that was felt to be the only way of representing the creator God of Israel. What a wondrous metaphor for the creator of all that is. May that same God take care of His People, today, in accordance with His Covenant.

That Scripture applies to the ancient, old covenant nation in the Bible, not the modern politically created state. It could also apply to the "Israel of God", which is the Christian church (Galatians 6:16), the new covenant, holy chosen nation of God (1 Peter 2:9). Amen

It was truly a privilege to visit Israel in 2004 and 2005. It's history is fascinating and what grips me most of all, is, the evidence of places and many of the biblical events that have been uncovered through the careful archeology. As Christians, we owe so much to the Jewish people, especially for their faithful recording and preservation of these historical sites.

Friend, the Word of God doesn't speak at all of the modern day state. Biblical Is.ra.el. was destroyed in 70 AD. There is no connection whatsoever between the old covenant nation and the modern one, which is a democracy, not a theocracy, and has no covenant with the Lord God through Jesus Christ, the Savior.
