Examples Of DANGEROUS Faults on the Driving Test

Examples of dangerous faults on the UK driving test www.driving-school-beckenham....
Alexis has come over to us from another driving instructor and has a driving test coming up soon. She hasn't had many driving lessons, but she wants to do a mock driving test so that she can see how test ready she is.
Alexis has never driven this car before and doesn't know the area.
This driving test features commentary to help you understand what went right and wrong. The speed and which gear she's driving in are also displayed. The forward bay park exercise is carried out in this driving test.

I find it absolutely disgusting when people sound their horn at learner drivers. Seriously, it’s like they forget they were once in their shoes.

  • @nchnch_

As much as I'm all for being patient with learners and giving them space, if I was in the black Fiesta's shoes at the start there, I would have tooted the horn - it's an appropriate use, as it serves a purpose of making someone aware of your presence and might have stopped them from pulling out into you. However, the Fiesta also seemed to be going at a fair rate, so it would also have helped if they actually braked a bit as well as using the horn.

Not everyone will agree, but there should be a minimum number of hours (at least 20) you should accumulate before you are sent for a test, regardless of natural skill. You're not riding push bikes, you're moving around 1-2 tons of metal at considerable speed. I once asked my instructor for a test after about 8-9 lessons and he said something along the lines of "you're getting better but your experience is still quite low and it would be pointless to send you for a test". So I decided to have extra lessons at night. Driving at night is a whole new experience and I'm glad I had those extra lessons, because I passed first time.

Day to day driving is a continual test and you are always learning. You learn from different situations, different roads and from other drivers. So the competence of people's driving doesn't remain at one level and the more you drive the more you learn, like learning a new language. Congrats on passing Alexis!!! You did good for just 10 hours of driving and everyone makes mistakes, especially in the first two years. Good luck girl and safe driving. 😊

I think everyone should have at least 30 hours before their test. I’m happy that it took me a long period of time to pass mine. I feel like I have much more experience, I feel confident and I feel much more content within my abilities on the road. I don’t think anyone should be allowed to take their test after only this amount of time and I think crash courses should only be available for people that have had at least a considerable amount of lessons beforehand.

“...she’s only had 10 lessons...” exactly the point people are making, it’s ideally not the point where you should be thinking about tests when you’re new to cars. I can bet that most people that were saying she was a danger aren’t doing so out of malice or ridicule, pointing out flaws doesn’t mean you dislike someone and indeed often means they want you to improve.

  • @bluefilmsltd

Blue Sera Films: “...so [why] add salt to the wounds?” I don’t think that’s the right way to look at it. Yes maybe it might hurt to read that you didn’t do well, but most people aren’t commenting to hurt her feelings or put her down. Don’t forget that humans are often unrealistically optimistic at times too, many people have gone for driving tests at a time where they are far from ready (although the fact that she’s been filmed while taking a mock practical suggests that she’s more open to feedback for improvement than most). “...think you underestimate the sheer, unrelentless nastiness that is youtube comments” I can’t speak as to whether this comment section is moderated, but there are about 350 comments on this video, it’s not too difficult to browse through all of them. The worst of them I’ve seen are saying (paraphrasing) that it’s scary that she passed her actual driving test or that she shouldn’t be on the roads (one of which I replied to while I was watching the video beforehand), but those aren’t frequent. The majority of comments I’ve seen either are commenting why she wasn’t ready from the video and a few are giving encouragement to keep working on her driving. Yes comment sections online can be nasty (a consequence of a platform where you can openly comment and especially when it’s about emotionally charged topics) but here it isn’t too terrible. I’m willing to bet that most people who watch this channel do so to learn about driving and it’s niche enough to escape general conflicts that arise elsewhere.
