Just FYI, the line you refer to about blessing and cursing is not in the NT. It's in Genesis chapter 12 and it is God addressing Abraham, not 'Israel. ' There was no people or kingdom called Israel yet. Christian Zionists often take things out of context.

Actually, it's not true that Dr. Maté "never accepted the Zionist project". I think it is important to understand that when he was young, he DID accept it. But then, based on what he saw and what he learned, he re-evaluated it. He changed this thinking. THAT is what is great. That gives hope that other people too -- maybe all of us -- can re-think what we have been taught.

I honestly do not know why KZread suggested this interview but it is a very deep and beautiful conversation. Mr. Mivasair is a gem with a big heart. I cried with him when he talked about his friend in Gaza. You could see his concerns about his friend. I think I get it when he says that you have to care about yourself. If you have a powerful job, you can help people. He is correct. I regret that I was afraid of becoming a physician. I studied art history instead. I had more power as a medic helping people.

I respect him reading and teaching himself away from religious books ...as he said...they are not history books....I also understand the vulnerability of Jewish people because of the past events...I only wished that even after they occupied a land..they would at least give people humanitarian rights or agree on their lands...The Rabbi is really careful in his words and the sequence of events with good book references to get back to and understand his views better... Thank you we need to hear these stories. I'm not religious, but we need to stop the bloodshed and help Palestinians find peace in their land. We fought against Apartheid not long ago once we have to do it again. ✌️♥️🇵🇸

It feel so over whelming in a most positive way to see Muslim and Jewish together with their own beliefs but on same emotional page for humanity no matter what faith and race they are. I feel pain for the Muslim and those Jews who don’t want to be the part of all evil.

In theory, yes, but we can't always count on the long game- people being attacked like the Gazans or Yemenis, or some have short lives.

It's amazing how we read the same books except for the State of Terror. I'll be looking for that book. And it's these readings that changed how I look at Israel vis-a-vis Palestine.

When I listen to this man a very unique emotion goes through my mind and body. I have the impression that I am in presence and listen to a Prophet like we had ( Moise, Abraham, Jesus, Mohamed.) He is following his heart.

I hope we see more of him. He has worked on himself to see the truth and I know it is not easy.

Attachment to ethics cannot be part of that. Maybe we need the word " Attachment" defined ftom its original use by the Buddha. It is wonderful to discover that all the world's great religions say some of the exact same things! Buddha: Do not do to others, what you would not want them to do to you. Christ: Do unto others, what you would have them do to you." Christ: '"Bless those who persecute you." Swami Sivananda: "Help those who persecute you, in any way possible." Great great teachings by the Masters! Only one of them-Yeshuah-allowed Himself to be killed as a once for all sacrifice, a substitutionary sacrifice for all those who hear His voice and respond. He allowed Himself to be a sacrificial Lamb for His sheep. This idea that a sacrifice of perfect obedience was needed to bridge the gap between man's sinfulness and the Heavenly realms, is really hard for me to understand. Jesus came back to life in a bodily form, and now is our Heavenly Priest, interceding for us. He will come back, at which time everyone will recognize Him, and the Great Judgment will then begin.
