I was fortunate to be able to share a weekend with Tommee and Nate at the Michigan state Youth convention before NF exploded. Tommee led worship all weekend. Obviously super talented. Amazing to see how far they have come.

The new modern Hans Zimmer. Tommee creates his own amazing music on his yt. He’ll cover movie trailers etc making them like 200x better.. hes a gift to Nate, and us. So down to earth. Ive seen him comment on peoples rections to NFs music and they wouldnt even know who he is until someone would point it out. He seems so down to earth, same time, something Nate vibe magic to him. Not giving all his secrets. 😉 smart man.

This was awesome - I didn't know that Tommee dropped this! I always dig behind-the-scenes content... speaking of LOTR, at least once a year I watch the Extended Version movies and all of the Appendices which I believe is longer than even the Extended Version films 😄 Also, Hip-Hop LOTR needs to happen or my life will be incomplete 😁

I can see how he put it all together but only because I've heard the finished product. But did he have it already formed in his mind when he was creating it or was it a sort of a random process - this could should go well with this or this and what about adding here that... sort of alchemy? :) Several years ago I've tuned in a channel where they played nothing but movie trailers all the time. I spent an embarrassingly long time watching it in fascination. Sometimes I love the trailers more than the movies themselves. There's just something epic about them. And I think it's the music. And the same goes for The Search. It could've ended being over the top with these movie beats and orchestra... but it somehow works.

Normally, 90% of time when i was making music, often the creative process would be an all day thing. It would start in the mornign, a beat would be forming itself in my mind, then when id go home id lay the down the beat. The other 10% was a random thought process, i'd imagine the search was 70% thought out then the bits he added for depth etc were additions during the production. Thats my thoughts on it

Now when producing is it really helpful to have an artist thats as heavily involved as I imagine NF is? Or do you find that you can be forced to go in a direction that often results in a worse end product, but have to do it to make the artist happy?

i saw this early hours, thought i'd wait till i was fully awake to answer lol. I think alot of that boils down to chemistry. Alot of the time you would produce and an artist would work around it. But considering their relationship id imagine it works very much hand in hand duiring the process as to what direction they want to go musically and how inspired they might be feeling at the time.

I want to see how they made the music video.

Same!! They did a short BTS for ‘Wake Up’ but I’ve never seen any others (apart from the occasional snippet on the director’s Instagram) and I’d love to! I guess it might take some of the magic out of the NF Cinematic Universe, but I could live with that. 😋

Yeah, you would use some form of software or sequencer. Some people record live, then quantize everything recorded so in sounds in beat. I dont think i know anyone who can record a beat live completely on point. But once on the program, the world is your oyster.
