Not contrived at all. Interesting that she can afford a trip to Santiago, Chili', taking a year off to "find herself", but, doesn't have the money to pay her rent in advance or treat her boyfriend to a nice dinner.

That wasn't the real reason....she had hurt her wrists playing the piano and was booked to see a specialist on the same day they were leaving for Santiago....but instead of telling him the truth (god only knows why, maybe immaturity) she told him she wanted to break up with him....SMH....

@@rcheck1008 whatever her reason she still dumped him for being poor, and he still took her back…. That is the reality of the show and nothing triggers me more than mentally and emotionally weak characters… especially in Asian dramas…. Almost all females leads are protrayed as weak characters who do not have the ability to stand up for themselves, or make responsible decisions for their problems… Especially in Japanese dramas
