Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The ex 44Teeth Ducati 999s from Budget Bike Battle Italia has forever been suffering from slow lethargic starting... You would have see this if you follow 44 Teeth's content
Lets give it the ability to start just like any modern motorcycle!
This video is intended as a guide to install a Exact Start Kit
www.exact-start.com/
Its a bit of a long video. This guide shows you much of what is missing in the instruction manual and is aimed to help you to install a kit on your Ducati 999
Two weeks after filming I decided to pull the bike apart and give it a deep clean, it still had oil deposits from when it dumped engine oil on the way back to the UK a few years ago. Its come up a treat now.
I am enjoying owning this motorcycle, its a pleasure to ride. Looking forward to Spring/Summer so I can put more miles on it

These work as advertised. I installed a Motolectric HICAP kit on my 999 way back in 2010. I wrote the install tutorial for the company. a bit tight ...what you also want to address is upgrading the solenoid and starter motor. IIRC Ducati uses cheap steel in their solenoid vs copper. So this is a great upgrade in conjunction w/ the cables. Also, go with a new aftermarket starter. Hi torque, less weight, less amp draw.. I replaced mine with Ricks Motorsports products. Regulator/rectifier, solenoid, starter. Back then Ricks was doing the proto-typing for Ducati models at a friends Ducati shop..BCM.. I had a BCM 102mm overbore kit, Pistal HC 13.5:1 pistons, new head and base gaskets, race spec crank balancing, new bearings throughout... 148.99HP, 86 ft lbs Fast by Ferracci did the install, mapping. I had to get more cranking power so I went with the Ricks starter as the OEM starter, electrical system strained to push the huge Pistal HC pistons ..especially when cool or cold. I also installed a Shorai battery but that was a disaster .. went back to a YUASA. If you can afford to replace the starter, solenoid ..along w/ the battery cable kit you'll have more than enough cranking power.... I had with my engine upgrades...

8:37 Turn the new positive red cable on the solenoid, the ather way around. than it feat better together with the old one. The new ground cable can be conected directly on the exposed bolt for the starter motor. In addition with the original cable connected on the horizontal sylinder.

Yes they explicitly said to use existing cables. Eve be against my own judgement. To be fair cleaning up th terminals on all original connectors can achieve similar results

@@MotoTingle these cable upgrade kits will help ANY motorcycle along with any car too. The Duc 999 install is difficult. If your doing it when cold, you can't. Cables must be super warmed up, flexible. Actually in my case Motolectric sent the wrong kit, it was for basically a MotoGuzzi/universal kit. And then sent a 999 specific later. The Guzzi kit was better for the 999 IMO if your 'piggybacking' it... But they work as long as you buy a quality component kit... buying a cheap kit is a waste of $$$

Hi. Thanks for the video. How's it holding up? Still got it? I have just got a 999 and have an issue starting it. Thinking about getting this kit although not sure it will fix my problem. Everything comes on when turning key, fuel pump primes, alarm/immobiliser works fine, it just doesn't crank the engine. My first thought was it needs a new battery so got one and that hasn't changed anything. Now, if I connect up the old battery with the new battery with some jump leads then it starts no problem. I am thinking some sort of corrosion somewhere perhaps? Have cleaned up the contacts on battery terminals and starter relay but hasn't made any difference. It just fires up no problem with two batteries.... Maybe I need a better battery or perhaps this kit would help. Any ideas or thoughts from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This kit forces you to check all the terminals right to the starter motor. As your fitting new wires. I think this kit is good. But a STRONG battery is worth investing in. I still have my 999 and I love it, just about to do belts and it’s ready for summer
