Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today I want to try to build a super sonic boat. Will water resistance be too much to overcome?

About Trailmakers:
In the toughest motoring expedition in the universe, you and your friends will build your own vehicles to cross a dangerous wasteland. Explore, crash horribly, use your wits to build a better rig, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find on your way.
Welcome to the Ultimate Expedition!
Journey over grueling mountains, hazardous swamps, and bone-dry deserts on a distant world far from civilization - it is just you, your fellow adventurers and the amazing, jet-powered hover-buggy you built yourself. Explore, crash your vehicle, build a better one, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find along your way.
Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Yeah my dad's army buddy restored an old beautiful Chris Craft boat. Although he put a much more powerful engine in it. He was bored of building supercharged customod Mustangs. So he made a supercharged Chris Craft, fastest damn boat I've ever rode on needed Google's so the see spray wouldn't blindl you, and really cushy seats for choppy water destroy your spine otherwise

16:22 That's why they called it the sound BARRIER. When people originally tried to break it by diving at the ground towards the end of WWII the planes would shake violently from the extreme air compression and would not be able to pull out of the dives. As it turns out ailerons are not enough at transonic/supersonic speeds so that is why on real life supersonic aircraft the pitch controls move the whole tail and not just the back of the tail.

You can use the input number (between 1.00 to -1.00) on the 5° servo or hinge to make it go below 5°. Example set the servo/hinge on 5° (or any thing) and connect its input though logic box or sensor, put the input of the logic block to 0.5, this will get a lower the angle than 5°.

It's like scrapman completely forgot what he was taught on the course of barrier breaking, mainly one thing: minimize air resistance points even if it makes for sacrifices. 1 block of resistance can outperform halfing your total weight. And then he just puts 4 fins on the vehicle.

Considering that wedges have an impact on the lift, perhapskis you could try to create a functioning plane with the wedges and have the wings made of wedges as well as the control (pitch, yaw, roll)

  • @Pystro
    @Pystro22 күн бұрын

When using the leading and trailing surfaces to suppress the jumps out of the water, I would put 2 wedges low down so that they always pull you down, and have 4 wedges right on the surface that push you up out of the water. When the 4 wedges rise out of the water, you get pulled down with a force of 2, and when the 4 wedges are fully submerged you get pushed out of the water with a net force of 2. That should result in the water level staying right in the center of the 4 lifting wedges; and you can then have your center of thrust half a block below that level. And maybe add 2-3 leading wedges that push you down (in the front where they are permanently out of the water), so that if you ever get fully airborne you have neutral areodynamic forces.

maybe if you can attach them to another adjustable block you may be able to change the degree of angle below 5 degrees.

since you can't go lower than 5* then what about 90*? placed these fin vertical, then set to 85-90* so you have 0-5* to work with.

Could you break the sound barrier by rotating super fast, like attaching the seat to an arm who's pivot is like anchored to the ground? Or something similar?

Sideways aerodynamics matter too. Why dont you make the front wedges be up and down, but the rear left and right? Front will have less sideways drag
