    Irish Yes, it is real but we are not "supposed" to find chimps closer to us; no one is evolving into us. All populations are adapting to their unique environments; adaptation is evolution. Also, evolution simply means change over time, it is not a march toward perfection. Even a loss or diminishing of function is considered evolution .

This "split" happened due to the nuts and whatever food example in the video. The difference between the two populations is what warrants treating them as two newly created species.

  • @kijul468

    @A A Look at a phylogenetic tree. You will see organisms branching off. Every daughter clade belongs to a parant clade which belongs to a parent clade. The daughter clades never stop being what their parent clades are. It is a nested hierarchy. And what you said implies that because they are still finches, evolution is false, but evolution doesn't say they will be anything other than finches. There are multiple species of finch, and as you said they are all still finches. So then, speciation has occurred or else how can their be multiple species? You should know that speciation falls into macroevolution since macroevoltuion is evolution on and/or above the species level. So you, are in fact accepting macroevolution without actually even knowing it.

  • @kijul468

    @kijul468

    3 жыл бұрын

    @A A Yes you do believe in macroevolution. You said "They are still finches" which implies you are saying they come from a common ancestor, but are still finches. There are multiple species fo finches, so there has been speciation occur. Macroevolution is evolution on or/and above the species level. So yes. You do accept macroevolution, you just don't realise it. It's not too complicated though, is it?Mutations happen, and you cannot deny that. Mutations affect the expression of traits, and you cannot deny that. There are traits that are better for certain things. And you cannot deny that. Long legs and skinny limbs are great for running in hot climates. In fact, it's from these hot climates that the huge majority of long distance runners are from. The climate is part of the environment, and the environment is what filters the bad traits from the good.

    Common ancestor maybe a bit too much of a detailed concept for those attacking evolution. Remember, it's not the scientists that question evolution like this, it's always the creationists. Their worldview does not permit processes to take place, but rather a magical spark that jump started everything exactly as-is in a static model that does not contain enough data to form a predictive model.

    @@m.yasiralishah7534 "So what about the 2nd law of thermodynamics" What? Are you really saying that you think the second law of thermodynamics has something to do with some magic man in the sky suddenly making everything living everywhere, from nothing? "and here evolution is trying to prove that everything is getting order" This demonstrates your total lack of comprehension of something you could have taken six seconds to look up. Not sure the level of stupidity here, but let's play. You cite thermodynamics with no study, so let's break this down for you in simple terms. The law you mention discusses specifically thermodynamic (heat) units within ISOLATED SYSTEMS and the detailed observation that the total number of entropies in those systems does not change. In layman's terms Earth is not an isolated system. Entropy (also known as chaos in physics) is a movement within a system toward a state of equilibrium. Like when your mother blows up a balloon for you. The air does not hang out in one section of the balloon, it spreads out equally. Not sure why you think this has anything to do with the complexity of a system, or how that relates to the changes in allele frequency, but do show how you know nothing about biology and chemistry. This is one of those "stupid theist" comments. You should be ashamed.

    The thing is, Creationists aren't asking this question because they want an answer, they're asking it because they want to put people on the defensive. If you give a compelling answer, they'll ignore it and move to another subject. The game for them is to keep you in the argument, forcing you to work hard trying to provide data while they smirk at you and provide nothing. They're not interested in your answers, what they are aiming for is an apparent victory gained by breaking their opponents temper or keeping the thing going until their opponent is to forced to leave the discussion (in order to get on with his/her life) so they can post a last line unchallenged.

It was quite hilarious when I presented him with basic logic, and he said that I was incorrect just because I was using the logic to prove such things as evolution and the validity of the scientific method. This attitude is known as a cognitive distortion in psychological circles by the way, ignoring any evidence that goes against what you think and having the general idea that "I think it, therefore it is."

    When someone asks me the beginning question, I usually answer with parallels to religion: When christianity evolved from judaism, why are there still jews? Its basically the same reason. Similarly it is possible to explain the old question "who was the first human then?" Who was the first christian? Jesus himself was a Jew as his parents, his followers were jews as their parents and as their kids, but from generation to generation of followers the ideas slightly changed more and more until they saw themself not longer as jews, but as christians. But in every generation they could identify with the people coming before them and the people coming after them...

    I don’t think your addressing the poorly worded question.The objection to evolution should be how does evolution keep some fish populations unchanged for 100’s of millions of years and simultaneously explain fish becoming people? If nature preserves the creatures best adapted to the environment, wouldn’t it severely limit the 1000’s upon 1000’s of changes required for fish to become people? It seems overwhelming obvious that the transition between a fish and land animal would require vast numbers of generations of creatures less fit to survive in water or land. Meaning for it to adapt to land, it would have to become less fit for the water and since evolution theory demands vast amounts of time it would have to slowly become best fit for the land. The number of changes, the causes of the changes, the benefits of the change that preserved it, the lack of explanation of the complex interdependency of organs and systems within lifeforms and entire ecosystems coming about by undirected or random chance chemical processes, are just a few reasons to doubt the validity of the theory. The most common reaction and response to my objections isn’t to address or refute them. Commonly it causes an emotional response that is followed up with an attack on my intelligence and motivation.Occasionally, mentally stable people will present some information that sometimes touches on my criticism, but hardly is the kind of detailed and scrutinized work that satisfies the constantly repeated mantra of mountains of evidence and questioning it makes me a science denier. My personal favorite defense of evolution is when someone responds by revealing their emotional instability and irrational beliefs about God , religion and bizarre accusations of my beliefs in Magic then followed by the ultimate proof of evolution, “ Your a moron”! I know it’s hard to refute such a powerful argument that employs logic and science, but I’m stubborn I guess. Please don’t think anything I have stated applies to you that I am aware of.I just like to present exactly where I am coming from when asking questions, to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings.Have you seen any detailed scientific work that details and puts some tangible numbers to the transitional stories we all are told? Clearly those vague just so stories don’t meet the criteria and qualify as serious science. At least I doubt they are taken seriously without attempting to put numbers on the changes, causes, environmental adaptations, survival benefits, etc. The closest thing I was shown was the theory of genetic clocks to see if their theories of age and the geologic column would allow for the changes to occur.There are too many assumptions to explain how accurate this science is but if there assumptions are correct it at least puts some parameters around the evolution stories but offers up no explanation of how or why anything in the story happened or actually could happen. I don’t doubt the intelligence and hard work that people have dedicated to the theory.I do think it is very important to make clear distinctions between ideas and facts. I also think that unlike most other sciences the evidence and explanations of the evidence are severely exaggerated and grossly fail to support the claims drawn from them.There is no other scientific theory Or discipline I could point to that has repeatedly embraced fabricated, fraudulent, and purposely and ignorantly misrepresented evidence to support a theory. No other science has used the court systems to require it be taught in the education system and no other science that the public funds is not accepted by more than half the people funding it. In academic institutions there is multiple examples of punishment of anyone who publicly expresses doubt in the theory. Do you have any reason to doubt evolution? Is it ignorant or unscientific to point out any inconsistencies or failures of evolution to properly explain data or is any doubt of evolution based on ignorance? Is it wrong to address the implications the theory has on morality, purpose and objective meaning to our life before teaching it to our youth? To give such a vague and simplistic answer that avoids the question more than it addresses the question is a constant method used to defend evolution. Shouldn’t we expect and demand more from science and ourselves? Just something for you to consider.

Anyway forget about monkeys and apes for a second what i find more baffling is creatures that have been here for like a gazillion years and are still dumb as shit. Take crocodiles for an example, they've been around for ever and they are still dumb as shit, as are most animals. Why are humans so far advanced in intelligence when it is absolutely not needed at all for survival as can be seen by, i dunno say; EVERY OTHER CREATURE ON THIS DAMN PLANET. I mean you even see it today, even people we consider dumb as shit have no problem breeding and spreading their genes. So whats with the intelligence? what real use is it? in fact; its more of a hindrance when you really think about it.

  • @IronSquid501

    @IronSquid501

    Evolution IS adaptation. Adaptation over a very, very long time through genetic mutation. Just Saiyan. Also, the reason Crocodiles aren't as smart as Humans is because they don't need to use intelligence to hunt - They have huge honkin' jaws and tend to hunt big, meaty, slow animals that drink plenty of water, like Buffalo, or fast but very dumb animals that breed quickly, like Fish. On the other hand, Humans have fists and teeth that break relatively easily and don't grow back. We have plenty of endurance, but we're not fast, so we can't rely on our speed to get away from, say, a Lion. And since we're not particularly fast, big, or meaty, despite living in numbers, those numbers won't count for much like they do for Zebras or Buffalo, especially since one human had around half a dozen children on average in their lifetime which really isn't much at all when considering infant mortality. So, we need to use our brains. Make weapons, throw rocks, disguise ourselves, or figure out other new and improved ways to survive. Other animals don't need this because they have their own ways of surviving - Be it size, speed, numbers or strength.

  • @KoyalAlkor

    GIven enough genetic drift the two (or more) groups of the same species will not be genetically similar enough to be the categorized under the same species, which usually, but not always, generate quite noticeable differences between the two new species given the different adaptations they went through. I don't get how intelligence would be a hindrance, unless you mean an animal is wasting energy on a complex brain but has absolutely no opportunity to use its improved cerebral functions to its advantage. Which would be a quite hard scenario to even imagine, because if the animal can't get sufficient advantage from a more complex brain, said complex brain will never become a trait of the species. Chimps are quite intelligent, so are dolphins, they both use their intelligence to better survive. Chimps use rudimentary tools, dolphins cooperate to catch fish better in group (which requires their advanced communication skills), they even cooperate with fisherman on some places. As to your question: *Why are humans so far advanced in intelligence when it is absolutely not needed at all for survival as can be seen by, i dunno say; EVERY OTHER CREATURE ON THIS DAMN PLANET.* *what real use is it? in fact; its more of a hindrance when you really think about it.* We could just as easily point out to other any rare/extreme characteristic from thousands of animals and ask why only species X has Y: Giraffes and long necks, aren't they quite a hindrance? Blue whales and huge body size, way too much food requirement no? Male peacocks and their feathers, pretty much a "eat me" sign for predators! Bombardier beetles and their explosive discharge, why the hell does an animal explode for? No other animals has any of these traits or have them to such a extreme, but still it does not mean they are useles much less a hindrance.

Stuff like people having existential crisis', people committing suicides (which is not prevalent in any other species), people literally "thinking themselves too much" to death. "What's the point of living on? life is pointless, no meaning, etc" Your thoughts start overriding your natural instincts on stuff like survival and pro-creation, you see this all around the world with humans. "Chimps are quite intelligent, so are dolphins..." - Please just stop there. They are in no way even close to the level of human intelligence. Maybe in the realm of the animal kingdom but please do not attempt to compare their "intelligence" to human intelligence. They are leagues apart. "We could just as easily point out to other any rare/extreme characteristic from thousands of animals and ask why only species X has Y:...." - The biggest problem with this example is the fact that there have been countless examples before (and probably to come) of animals that have almost identical traits to the ones you listed. There have been many many animals throughout history with long necks, there have been countless animals as large as the Blue whale throughout history (i know the blue is the largest, but shut up! whatever), there have been countless creatures with plumage or fancy displays to attract mates throughout history, etc. Can you say the same for Human intelligence? No. No you can not. There is only one example and it is us.

  • @willoughbykrenzteinburg

    @willoughbykrenzteinburg

    The phrase "just a theory" is an oxymoron in the scientific world. Evolutionary theory is supported by several giant mountains of evidence. The transitional fossils you ask for exist, and are growing every day. We haven't found every single transitional fossil, but the fact that some fossils haven't been found (when thousands of others have) is not grounds for dismissing evolution. You'd have to demonstrate an actual flaw in the theory for that to happen, and the lack of SOME fossils is not a flaw. Thus far, every single fossil that has been discovered has confirmed evolutionary theory. Every study of DNA and other related concepts has confirmed evolution. My guess is that you got thrown out of class - not for asking these question - but for rejecting an explanation similar to the one above. I'd guess that you believe in God and creation, so I'd say your requirements for evidence in support of an idea are at best - embarrassingly inconsistent if you do indeed believe in God and creation - for which there is absolutely zero evidence. Evolution literally has infinitely more evidence than that. Believe what you want, you have that right, but you don't get to assert that there is no evidence for evolution without appearing to be an utter moron.

    there are flaws in science that religion has explained beginning to end for me. not denying all science. just evolution and the big bang. science is meant to prove how nothing came from something and that 0 + 0 can not possibly = 1. yet it hasn't been done. your explanation is that two particles circles for millions of years to form a hot gas to go on to that circling again for another few million years then more.... but where did the particles come from? every time I ask that question I am told space. but how was space created?. to me that's hypocrisy in science. why can't god just come from nothing but the particles can? @@willoughbykrenzteinburg

  • @willoughbykrenzteinburg

    @willoughbykrenzteinburg

    @@coralline9767 These are not flaws in science; they are your ignorance of the theories which you reject. Your religious ideas merely replace YOUR rejection of the science. You have a flawed understanding of that science. The Big Bang theory DOES NOT make the claim that something came from nothing. The Big Bang Theory initiates with all matter which currently exists existing at a central location and then rapidly expanding. All matter that currently exists existed from the beginning of the Big Bang. The Big Bang is not a theory which describes the absolute beginning of the universe; just as far back as science can CURRENTLY verify. What happened before the Big Bang is a scientific mystery at this point. This does not mean that it will never be known. Science also does not make any claims that something had to come from nothing. This is a baseless jump made by people like you in order to insert God where science has yet to produce an explanation. In other words, the notion that something came from nothing is a religious idea made by religious people and erroneously attributed to science. It's a strawman argument. Science does not say that something came from nothing. For all we know, space and all matter has always existed. Something didn't have to come from nothing, but something did have to initiate the Big Bang, and we don't know what that is. Why can't you accept the Big Bang and Evolution and merely claim that this is HOW God created the universe and all living things? You can have both. You will have many scientists argue that there is no evidence for God being involved (and they would be correct), but at least you wouldn't be rejecting demonstrable scientific fact. I mean, do you even know WHY the Big Bang Theory is universally accepted? Do you know what observations led scientists to the Big Bang Theory to begin with? My guess is that you do not know; you just - for some reason - think that accepting the Big Bang Theory and Evolution is a rejection of God and Creation, so you reject these ideas on the SOLE basis that if they are true, God can't exist, and you will not let go of the existence of God, so you will reject any science which you believe contradicts your God (even though it doesn't). That's not rational. It's not reasonable. One last thing is that the arguments you use can be used against God as well. It is a never ending loop of "what came before". If matter needed to come from somewhere, and if space needed to come from somewhere, then so did God. What created space? Well, if the only explanation is that God created space, then what created God? I'm sure your baseless answer would be "nothing". Well - then you have created a scenario you have already demonstrated you are unwilling to accept. Something cannot come from nothing, so something must necessarily have to create God. Something can't come from nothing, right? YOU are the hypocrite here; not science. Science does not even make the claim on which you base your accusations of hypocrisy. You just assert that science does, and then you characterize it as hypocrisy, and THEN you create the same problem with God. Maybe you would argue that God is eternal and has simply always existed. If that is a concept you are willing to accept, then you have no reason to reject the idea that space and matter have simply always existed just the same. Rejecting the BBT and Evolutionary theory is not evidence that science is flawed. It is evidence that your understanding of that science is flawed. Nothing more.

What specific point did you make that I ignored? Come on, now. And I acknowledged that there are things science does not know. This is the giant difference between people like you and people like me. Science has no problem at all saying "I don't know". Religious people are unable to do this. Any time some answer is unknown, God is inserted as an answer. God used to be the answer for a lot more things than today, but as science has developed verifiable explanations for ideas, God becomes an ever receding concept. This is the fault of YOU people; not science. A few hundred years from now, you will no longer be able to insert God for what happened before the Big Bang because of how you just insert God in place in areas where science has yet to cover - - - but probably eventually will. If you believe God created science, then you should accept the Big Bang Theory and Evolution, and merely claim this was God's doing. When we discover more and more about how the universe works, I don't understand why people like you can't be equally awed by it. Instead of blindly rejecting concepts which have substantial mountains of observational data to support them, why not just say, "Oh...THAT'S how God did it"? Again, you'd find objection to that from some people, but you wouldn't be ridiculed for rejecting demonstrable facts.
