Wow what a throwback…played them all as a kid as they came out on shareware… starting with wolf3d, I remember operation body count but never saw that level with the rats… I recall middle eastern terrorists? Both Blake stone games, corridor 7 (I remember a big floating eyeball thing??) ROTT was the BEST when it came out!! You had to be there! It was such a huge jump in graphics and gameplay, seemed so much more realistic than its predecessors at the time.

I agree. ROTT looked like a suped-up Doom clone.
4:21 , the hand of the ROTT pistol sprite, interesting
7:30 i think thats the doom engine not the wolf3d one

Indeed that's the wolfendoom Total Conversion for Doom but it's still a legacy for wolf3d as it was by one of it's greatest modders and new wolfendoom TCs keep coming to this dat

@@Pedro1745 but it still isn't a Wolf3D engine game, the video is about those.

+++ -- obvious DOOM mod.
Brilliant I had no idea there was so many Wolfenstien style games
here, most of these are not games, but mods for games, and 3 games are not on the wolf3d engine.
Terminator Rampage also had that flat office building style engine, but I don't think it used the Wolf 3D engine per se.
Anyone else know what other game the music from the second one was used on. I remember the music but am certain I haven't played that game
You missed Shadow Caster which was also Wolf 3D engine converted to RPG action game :)
Please, anybody know that song at the end?
I have fond memories of catacomb abyss
Why is Wolfendoom on here? That's a Doom engine Total Conversion.
are you sure that the Triad games used Wolf 3D's engine?

It does (but heavily modified, and ported to 32 bits).
2023 - Brutal Wolfenstein, Shima, Operation: Wasserstein, Kremlin 3D, Second Encounter, Wolfenstein 3D HD et cetera.

Brutal Wolfenstein isn't in the Wolfenstein 3D engine. It's a remake/remaster in a *very* enhanced Doom engine (GZDoom). Can't talk to the others. Also true of some of the games in this list/video too, like Wolfendoom.

Those look different engines, unlike Doom, Heretic and Hexen, which looks pretty much the same engine. If Rise of The Triad is a modified Wolf 3D Engine, I will say there is no modification on engine between Doom, Heretic and Hexen.
Rise of triad impossible!
