Tip: When you pull the handbreak up, don’t press the button. Let it click for a few times. That’s the right way of engaging your handbreaks. Only press the button if you’re going to disengage it. You’re doing it in a wrong way the whole time.

but because of your tip the teeth in the ratcheting mechanism may wear out slightly faster but still though, yes, you don't need to press the release button in the handbrake to engage because it will likely not engage if pressed while engaging

And the really the old Toyota Fortuner and New Toyota Fortuner gear is dancing 😅😅😂

One is for 4wd selection and the other is for your normal transmission
