Ridiculously difficult! I never managed it to this day. I think I gave up after about the thirtieth attempt of playing UMK3 on the Saturn. He just kept teleporting and smacking me from one side of the screen to the other, despite my blocking attempts.

Dude I just spammed Scorpion’s teleport kick and glitched reverse teleport kick to beat him. Sad to say this strategy did NOT work on the khan

Honestly Motaro was the LEAST demanding sub-boss for me in the entire series. Just jumped backwards, and kicked to avoid his projectiles and hit him whenever he lunged/ teleported. 🤷‍♂️

Actually, in Armageddon, the sub boss depends on who you pick. Mainly, the sub bosses are : Goro, Kintaro, Motaro, Shao Kahn, Onaga, Sheeva and Moloch. Daegon is an exception considering his role in Armageddon.

I believe that Shang Tsung is a kind of sub boss on MKII, because he is the only char (except for Kintaro and Shao Khan) that never change your position on battle tower.

The Game Boy version did not have Kintaro and as a result, Shang Tsung had always been the sub boss of that version.

MK Deception is the best sub boss because you can play Noob-Smoke in this game. Incredible 👏

Motaro scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, I couldn't even play properly every jump and teleport felt like a jumpscare to me

Creativity and passion, that's your answer. MK3 and MK4 was rushed and raw, wasting a lot of potential, a lot of internal changes and arguments in development team behind the scene. And the entire MK series on PS2-era consoles + MK vs DC was just a soulless broken ugly mess, a parasites on Mortal Kombat title from people who did not really understanded how 2000's fighting games works. Until it was acquired by WB and relaunched in amazing MK9 with more or less old band brought together with big money, a lot of development time, freedom of creativity included once again.

Deadly Alliance is one of my favorites overall. OST and Atmosphere was amazing.

The one problem I always had with the MK games was the cheap way of winning fights simply by performing the same combinations or specials over and over again, much like in this video. I've only played MK4 and Gold of the MK games following the original 2D ones. Kintaro was always my favourite of the boss characters, but Motaro was definitely the toughest. I used to scream and cry with frustration trying to beat him on hard difficulty or above.

For me, Kintaro was the toughest sub-boss in the franchise. I must have fought him a hundred times on my SNES before beating him.

It would really bet nice if you would just sit there and let the boss win. We walk away with no idea how they attack, because we never see it.

I can't remember if it's real but I distinctly recall tales of how Goro on hardest difficulty in MK1 literally couldn't be hit with a projectile. Even emulators that fired non-stop fireballs would see him doing this impossibly timed crouching crab walk across the screen, ducking under every shot to avoid even chip damage.😅😬

Shang Tsung is a sub-sub boss in MK2

Armageddon have multiple sub bosses not only kintaro Edit : same goes for mk9

Goro is my favorite but I want Kintaro in MK12, if not as a sub boss than at least as a pre order bonus

I do wish Kintaro had made an appearance in 11 the way they brought Goro back in 10.

It's funny how the graphics of one of the most badass arcade games of the 90s was basically "stop go" animation 😂

I'm a MK fan since I was 12 and even though I'm a fan I missed these games for these reasons: MK - didn't even know it existed lol MK4 - didn't have money to buy a N64 MK Armageddon, for some reason didn't even know about this at the time lol Internet and social media wasn't what it is now.

Shao Kahn could easily be the MK11 arcade sub-boss . Kronika should have been given a friendship in addition to her fatality.

As a kid I was never able to beat motaro in MK3 had even nightmares with it :'v

He was hard because Shinnok was too easy. But I really like this version of Goro. He was fast enought, could kick the crap out of you in a corner, and all his moves were really brutal. I mean BRUTAL. Compared to him, Goro from MK9 is cutie bun.
