Yes....that is when color TV started. Just a suggestion. They started their journey by being on a show called "The Sing Off", which was a competition for a cappella groups in 2011. They appeared on the 3rd season of the show. You could react to all 12 of their performances of the show, which are all available on KZread and the judges' reactions. It will give you a good idea of how far they have come. Kirstie, Scott, and Mitch were 19 in that show and Kevin and Avi had just graduated from college.

Thanks for a great reaction and continued effort to get around the copyright blocks that SME imposes upon Pentatonix. Now that Pentatonix has 3 Grammy awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, I am hoping they will find a way to kick SME to the curb when their contract ends without too many legal issues with rights to who owns their music, etc. Now that the members of Pentatonix are older, getting married, and having families it would be nice for them to take back the control of their lives, touring and creative expression. It would be great if they could own their own studio and do all their own production the way Voice Play has. I agree with the other comments about checking out season 3 of the "Sing Off" episodes with baby Pentatonix winning the competition that started their career. You will also want to check out season 4 of the "Sing Off" as well because both Home Free and Voice Play competed in season 4 with Home Free winning the competition. An interesting fact about Voice Play is they auditioned for the first season of "Sing Off" and they were turned down and encouraged to include a female singer in their group--they auditioned again for season 4 and made t5he cut when they added a sixth member that was female. Home Free auditioned for all 4 seasons of the "Sing Off" and were turned down the first 3 times and encouraged to add a female singer also. Home Free made it for season 4 without including a female because they had regrouped and added Austin and Tim and were innovative and different as a country acapella group and the judges and casting crew liked the way they sounded together. I love how 10 years later all three groups have become so successful.

Congratulations on your song recognition! The only one you were off with was the first - Pachelbel's Canon in D Major was around 400 years after the 11th century. I believe the first snippet was of a Gregorian chant called 'Salve Regina'. And yes, Avi is opera trained. To hear him in full voice you need to listen to the live versions of 'Aha', where the opening bars of Christus Factus Est by Anton Bruckner are used as the introduction. Most people recommend the Star Vista, Singapore performance for that. I prefer the official video which isn't as easily found as it goes under the title of '4 5 Seconds'. Far better sound quality and really showcases the talent of all of this incredible group.

Color was available as early as the 1880's but was very expensive and did not become popular for films until the late 1950's and early 60's. Disney was the first to put out an actual film using the three color method in 1932, although there were earlier attempts, but it was far from what we know today as color. By the mid-60's color as we know it today had pretty much become the norm and improved over the decades to come. Just a short history. This is one of my favorite videos of theirs. They had a cute message at the end letting you know why they picked these songs and apologized for leaving out any of your favorites. Great reaction! Be blessed.

Right after Old Man River was Cab Calloway's most famous song "Minnie the Moucher". He was a popular singer, song writer in the 30's big band and helped bring about skat. For you Forty somethings out there, he was on Sesame Street too (Maybe even the Muppet show. He performed this song in the Blues Brothers movie and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy covered it. Avi was indeed opera trained, but the Trio is no slouch. There are clips put there of them going back to their high school choir and singing with the top level choir at the school and the director has some pretty high standards and undertakes some decent classical choral pieces.kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJ2rr9VsdLnUccY.html

A couple days ago, you mentioned having some vids pulled down, and how you don't want to do fake repeats. I didn't have time to comment then, but now I do. I saw another reactor solve that problem. Wish I could remember who. They used their original video, with their first reaction, and kept the music rolling. But they would leave the music video visible for 10 seconds, then black the video out for 10 seconds, then repeat until the end. This keeps your reaction and the music tells us what you're hearing/seeing even when the video is blacked. You can also put a note on the screen saying you had to hide the video part time for copyright issues, and suggest people go to the artist's page to see the full vid. Not my original idea, wish I could remember the reactor. But maybe this might help you reupload.

This was the second of their viral videos from 2023 that really broke out their careers into the next level. The first was Royals, which started generating buzz. Then this one, which soon began competing with the Daft Punk video (released a few weeks later) for which PTX video would hit 100 million views first. Then, at the end of the year came Little Drummer Boy, which was and remains their biggest single, hitting #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
