Evolution of Makkah 600 - 2030 | Future structure of Kaaba | History of Makkah
The video covers the evolution/history of Mecca/Makkah (Kaaba) from years 600 to ~2021. Makkah has changed drastically over the years; as seen in the video.
However, the very first ever construction of the Kaaba was done by Prophet Adam (as). The first ever place for worship of Allah.
The Kaaba was then rebuilt in history by the Prophet Ibrahim (as) along with his son Ismail (as). It is said that at that time the Kaaba was in a rectangular shape with an open roof. As seen in the video, there has been drastic changes to the Kaaba ever since.

The Makka Munawwar was originally built by prophet Muhammad in the first year of the Hijrah (c. 622 CE), after his arrival in Medina. The land was owned by Sahal and Suhayl, partly as a place for drying dates, and at one end had been previously used as a burial ground. Refusing to "accept the land as a gift", he bought the land and it took seven or eight months to complete. The original mosque was 35 meters long and 30 meters wide. Theimagined layout of the mosque as it might have looked in the first year of Hijrah, back then it was oriented north-south. The qiblah wall was to the north towards the Masjid al-Aqsa and the al-Suffah was along the south wall.
The roof which was supported by palm trunks was made of beaten clay and palm leaves. It was at a height of 3.60 m (11.8 ft). The three doors of the mosque were Bab-al-Rahmah (The Door of Mercy) to the south, Bab-al-Jibril (Door of Gabriel) to the west and Bab al-Nisa (Door of the Women) to the east. originally these gates bore no names. The total area was some 1,050 square metres. Unbaked bricks were used as building material on top of a masonry foundation which was about 1.5 metres high.

That is the delima for the Saudi government , with the increasing numbers of Muslims around the world and the strict space where the pilgramge performance to be accepted according the islamic teachings and the increasing demands of Muslims to attend the hajj especially with the present day easy access to travel , it is hard not to modernize the structures to fit these demands. I believe the most important thing is that all muslims can have the chance to practice and fulfill the 5th pillar of islam and that Islam is suited for every time and that makes islam more alive in people hearts and muslims feel more and more connected every year.

It fits very well. Islam is the religion for all times, so futuristic things (provided they are not haram) can be harmoniously blended with the Kaaba.

@@madjames1134 Islam and Kaaba is for all times, but the concept of changing the way Kaaba looks or redesigning it is like changing a historical landmark. The Kaaba is the house of God and the qibla. It reminds Muslims about the life of the prophet and his hardships to send the message of God. If someone took Leonardo Da Vinci's Paintings and changed their exterior or interior that would be fabrication. The Kaaba is not a single building or a house, it's the house of God and the area around it, any dramatic change in it's exterior would be nothing but an architectural mistake. it's possible to build a futuristic mosque since Islam is for all times, but the Kaaba is a building for all times that must not change in shape or meaning. Kaaba is God's design, no being on earth is allowed to change it.
Subhanallah,, i've hope for someday can visit to mecca and pray at 🕋 aamiin.

The 2030 project is scary... Because it will push the poor away from coming to visit Allah's house. In UK, hajj 2022 is around £8000... How can ppl on low income afford this? Esp from poor countries? Ppl need affordable hotel, not 5 stars

Makkah is in Saudi Arabia, Most Holy City for Muslims all around the world as Kaaba/ Masjid Al Haram (this mosque in the video) is in that city. Its one of the most peaceful, spiritual place in the world.

Islam and 🕋 Kaaba is for all times, but the concept of changing the way Kaaba looks or redesigning it is like changing a historical landmark. The Kaaba is the house of God and the qibla. It reminds Muslims about the life of the prophet and his hardships to send the message of God. If someone took Leonardo Da Vinci's Paintings and changed their exterior or interior that would be fabrication. The Kaaba is not a single building or a house, it's the house of God and the area around it, any dramatic change in it's exterior would be nothing but an architectural mistake. it's possible to build a futuristic mosque since Islam is for all times, but the Kaaba is a building for all times that must not change in shape or meaning. Kaaba is God's design, no being on earth is allowed to change it.

I miss the old Mecca, especially in the 1970's to early 1990's where native Meccan allow pilgrim to sleep at their house. Today, it's Grand Mosque encircled by 5 stars hotel.

I just came back from Mecca a few days ago and I am missing the holy place so much right now. Really want to go back to Madina and Mecca ❤❤❤
Went in 2015 and remember the work and demolition work,,,seeing the old buildings and new construction was amazing Hopefully one day will go again,,ameen 🙏🏽
