You can see so vividly the progression of difficulty. At first you could fight multiple at once with relative ease, then it became challenging to fight just one, and then one just spotting you became a death sentence.

Tbf, the ONLY times MH has ever had custom-tailored monsters in any of the games were with World (The Behemoth from FFXVI and Leshen from The Witcher), Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker (With Gear REX) and the Japanese exclusive Monster Hunter Mobile game, which had a BUNCH of awesome crossovers including a uniquely textured Deviljho that was made to look like the Colossal titan from Attack on Titan and a Diablos that had an Alfonse mask for the Fullmetal Alchemist collab. @Ya Boi Incineroar Depends; they allowed exclusive Link-related content into the Switch port of Skyrim If Nintendo are happy for the Dragonborn to go slapping the cheese out of Sheogorath's mouth with the Master Sword, then they should equally be happy to allow 2nd party developers put similar references in their games
I honestly prefer the parry method to the Flurry Rush method for fighting BOTW/TOTK Lynels. If you get the timing down, you can parry and quickly pull out your bow to do a faceshot for a quick stun, then mount them and get in a bunch of free hits with your weapon that cost no durability. Incidentally, BOTW is a little easier to stun this way, as the stunbox is mostly just the head - in TOTK, the addition of the horns means that you have to specifically aim for the face. Also, I appreciate that the addition of the horns in TOTK means that Lynels actually have a new attack using them. It can still be parried, but it was a surprise the first time I saw it!

5:54 as a fanatic (not gonna say expert, I doubt I am) of the Necrodancer games, let me tell you how to avoid all that damage. the Lynel moves every second beat. if you're in the way when it's about to move... it's gonna hurt. if you know the Lynel is about to move, steer clear of it's adjacent tiles (he can't move diagonally, so just moving to the side is enough.) if you are somewhere on a straight line from it, it will ready an arrow. move out of that line immediately. if you can't but are playing as Link or anyone that can use the shield, hold it out and move towards the Lynel so the shield points towards him, the arrow shouldn't hit you. as Zelda or Shadow Zelda using Nayru's Love here will reflect the arrow, so, yeah, do that. depending on your weapon, the easiest strategy varies. Dagger/Shortsword/Spear/Rapier: if youre adjacent to it while it's not doing anything, attack once, step sideways, step back where you were, and then back to where you dodged towards, and repeat. this movement is known as the Dragon Dance from Necrodancer. Broadsword: attack every beat until you're adjacent to it, attack once, sidestep, and attack until you're adjacent again, repeat the process. Longsword: hold it out with R and poke at him from two tiles away, projectiles cant go through the sword, nor do they affect you lol just keep him out of range, turn as necessary.
I wonder if the Lynels ever feel so violated when they get mounted by Sneaky Links

I mean, in the Original Zelda, Lynels still WERE pretty much the hardest non-boss enemy the game had to offer, besides maybe Darknuts. (Which makes me feel like TotK's failure to include them is a missed opportunity) Hell, they were probably still the single enemy that dealt the highest amount of damage per hit. The player in the video made it look easy, but coming across a room with more than 3 of them was something to be scared of. Back then, Link's limited movement, and attack range made it pretty hard to successfully attack enemies while avoiding taking damage. It was easy to swing and miss, and it was east to bump into enemies by mistake.

Clearly somebody doesn't know about the mounting method (BotW and TotK). Shoot them in the face once, mount them with your highest damage weapon, and enjoy your free hits that DON'T CONSUME WEAPON DURABILITY. Parry every attack and shoot them during the brief stun that does, then mount up. When they do the fire breath or AOE, same as before shoot and mount. Really turns them from a terrifying enemy to a great source of expensive materials and strong weapons!
Missed opportunity to include the armored Lynel from The Depths
