Here's what's going on here. The video's description leaves out critical information resulting in all the negative comments. The boat is a custom Hydrodyne competition ski boat that's been modified to accept three 150 hp outboard engines. The boat is owned by the Wisconsin Aqua Skiers Club which puts on water ski shows. Many of the acts involve towing multiple skiers--sometimes a LOT of skiers.The boat has towed 64 skiers, a Guiness World Record. The way the boat is set up, it's probably not possible to correctly trim it when not pulling a huge load of water skiers. It's designed for brute power, not for speed.

R.I.P. 2 stroke outboards. Im still holding onto my 150 yamaha vmax. Never had it fail me or its previous owner in its near 20 years

Dang! I'm impressed with just my 88 horsepower two-stroke! Those seat-backs must be pretty strong to hold up to the G-forces

probably faster with one motor trimmed correctly. Maybe This is intended for towing requiring a high bollard pull.

You pulling multiple cows on wakeboards!? Nobody needs 3 big ass outboard motors for an itty bitty ski boat like this. One badass motor with correct shaft length and prop pitch is all you need. Also a shroud around the propeller increases efficiency during take off. If i ever see a boat like this parked at the gas station, i will comment how small the guys shoes are and how big his head is.. like honestly, who the F does this

How does the transom on such a small boat support so much weight??

The guy probably isn't trimming out to keep the boat more level during turns to avoid cavitation. I'd be interested in seeing what props they are running and if one of the motors is set up left hand rotation. Can't imagine how the handling would be if it had three right hand props on it.

Ok I can't keep one 10hp goin. With 3 monsters I'd have to move in with the boat mechanic

MovieMuscle Hahahaha, so true. I was watching videos on antique steam engine tractors. A big Case had 110 horsepower and hundreds of people we laughing and commenting on how even their Civic or Camry was more powerful then this stupid old tractor. I mean, you almost can't even respond to that ignorant of a comment. That Case would pull their car sideways along with the house and the concrete driveway with it. The lack of understanding of torque vs RPM and how it calculates. They just argued it over and over.

Depends on throttle position. You can likely find a service manual with the wot fuel consumption.

Good motars but the boat doesent look to well working with them the whole structure needs to balance with the weight of the engines .smaller and have balance .

Lets put that against my STV ProComp. It only has one Merc engine. Its coolish, but who needs a semi truck on the water?

The STV is fast, but very limited. Let's go offshore and that little STV won't be worth much. I can run 100+ in all conditions you can run 100+ in, but you can't run 25 in conditions I can run 75 in. It's all about the right tool for the job.
