This movie is one of the best remakes ever it’s so dark and demented with the main girl going from a victim, the villain, and the final girl all in one movie. The tongue cut in half that turned into a kiss and the machete to the knee has always stuck with me when it came to this movie 💀

Yes ! The knee bit has always had my clutching both my knees everytime I watch this movie 😂 it’s the same as when someone snips the back of the ankle in movies like house of wax ! Very few things make me cringe but those two are up there 😮‍💨😳

This was the first Evil Dead movie I was ever introduced to. It left a huge impression on me from the opening with "i'll rip your soul out daddy" to "you're all gonna die tonight" to the arm slicing to the machete into Mia's knee. All of it was gory, demented, disturbing, violent and iconic as hell. This is still one of my favorite horror movies.

Bro nah I watched the original Evil Dead AND IT LITERALLY TRAUMATIZED ME AS A KID because I was like around 4 when I first watched it. Evil Dead is just no 😭😭 the original is the most gut wrenching

He wanted the male actor to show real emotions and anxiety when digging her back up knowing that his costar is actually buried but she wasn’t traumatized. You can search the behind the scenes of this movie on KZread. When she was dug out she was just like “k can I get out now?” Nonchalantly so she’s fine

Metaphorically yes, the demon at the end is supposed to be Mia, the embodiment of her addiction and having a final stand with it.

The demon can be kill in many ways. You can burn him (like at the beginning of the movie) or cut him in pieces (like the girlfirend). The host is usually killed in the process, BUT luckily you can also just buried him.

@diamond_dogs right on! after the release of Rise, apparently there are 3 books (the 3 seen in AOD are all versions) and the Raimi/Campbell series is the first book, this one is the 2nd and Rise is the 3rd.

Me too! No movies scare me or have me going like 😮‍💨😳 but this one got me cringing from the different attacks sooo badly 😂 the knee slice 😳 the tongue cutting 😮‍💨 the needle to the eyeball had me sweating !!! 😂 so glad I saw it in the cinema ! The experience was incredible

Fun fact: they used 70,000 gallons of blood for the movie. But I'm glad u did a reaction to this movie hopefully u can do evil dead rise

Interesting that you mentioned Drag Me to Hell, since the director of that movie, Sam Raimi, directed the first Evil Dead in 1981. I guess his style is still somewhat intact, even in another director's movie.

Evil dead 2013 is the rare, or only, remake that is infinitely better than the original.

The best evil dead.

fun fact: when i was 13, my mom and i were watching tv when a random talking show started showing the trailer for this movie. i just sat there and watched it and couldn't sleep for WEEKS. even the poster for this movie is absolutely terrifying 😭

I like your added sound effects. As a long time watcher of the Evil Dead movies, this one paid homage to the original trilogy while giving us something new.

That evil dead demon/devil hit Mia like a Big Pizza Pie, that's Amory.... For shizzle, shizzle, dizzle, dizzle, for tizzle, my nizzles that's Amory! HAHAHAHAHA...

First time I saw this movie was in theaters and I almost vomited when she threw all that blood up in her face. This movie is so violent and over the top but in the best way. And Jane Levy who plays Mia in the movie acted her butt off in this role. She was in a movie called Don’t Breathe made by the same director of this and she did phenomenal in that too.

This was just wholesome entertainment!

i love this movie and i'm happy you watched this movie. i personally think it's just as better as the original (don't @ me) it's probably in my top 10 idk. i like how his movie adds more relatable topics that balances well with whatever weird stuff that happened in this movie. also eric's my favorite and i'm glad you liked his character too. i'm glad the creators added more character to him rather than making him the cause of everything and that's the best thing a story could ever have, horror or not. also, he's a bi icon, which i'm glad zavidd pointed out in his reaction, he's such a blt ally lol. and fun fact he's also the inspiration ti west went by to make the character RJ from X, the cameraman. overall amazing experience.

Fun Fact! If you take the first letter of each of the characters names it spells out "DEMON"

This movie is definitely a 10+ for me when the kids got involved I knew it was going to be some crazy sh*t happening. The cheese grater on that leg had me squirming good job cuzzo. I love you to the moon and beyond hunni #SLAYQUEEN 😘

I do suggest going back to the originals. You can skip the first (Evil Dead 2 is basically a reboot sequel), but definitely watch ED2 and Army of Darkness. They are very funny and campy and not as horrific as the 2013, I promise.

This was a great horror film, but the originals were great in their time too, with all their cheesy campiness. I'll never watch them again, like I would with this film. I think my memory of them will be better than the rewatching experience, so I'll leave them there in my head the way they are.

I felt bad for Jane Levy's character. It was awful seeing her get her arm torn off. Still, I liked the woods they were in and their cabin. A bad place to bring a girlfriend though. Have you seen An American Werewolf In London? It was an 80's horror/comedy classic. Maybe you could do a reaction video of it sometime? If you like werewolves, I'm sure you would love it.

Evil Dead Rise is great, horrifying and bloody…but not like this one! 2013 is by far my favourite in the series.

Why are they investigating? White people in a horror movie, what are you gonna do? lol. Me i grew up learning that if something seems like potential danger go the opposite direction, but in movies that kinda common sense is rare lol, ya i also am protective of animals when I see them in a horror movie like they better not die, ya i do agree as far as horror' movies not getting enough awards, i would have given Mia Goth one for Pearl and Lupita Nyungo for Us. Anyway enjoyed the reaction
