I played guitar for youth group many years ago and to this day I still remember how to play it and sing it. We sang a lot of Evie’s songs I became a Christian at the age of 14. I’m now 61 and still love to sing these songs

What a blessing this woman has been to millions.

She still is a beatiful lady in her 60's. That's what happens when you keep the Lord in the center of your life.

This song is part of my Childhood memories. My parents had a record with this in it. My Mom played the record all the time for me and my siblings. What a beautiful song! "It only takes a Spark".

I heard some of her songs as I gave my heart to Jesus in 77. I was 13 yrs old but never bother to know her name. As I was searching for songs that I heard in the 70s and 80s she came up here and my heart is melting listening to her songs. Just so much memories. I need to get more closer to Jesus.

I first listened to Evie in college in the late 70's. She made tough times easier. 💖

Annie Herring got my attention 1979?? In college. I would listen to her on a record and in between songs she talked like she knew Jesus. Some Christians in my wing had Evie records too, but i did not start liking her till after college.

She made it a lot nicer for me, too, even though I was just a boy during this time in elementary grades. I had some bad experiences with staff of the school I was attending during that time, and she always, without fail, encouraged me with her song about the deep, abiding love that Jesus has for us all, with that sweet, sweet cheerful voice! I always felt the blissful peace of the Holy Spirit pouring over me to sooth, calm, and quiet the terrible fear and anxiety that constantly felt. How I wish I could thank her personally for her willingness to be used to the glory of God! I would love to be able to sing with her, too; what an honor that would be!

We used to sing this song in our school Christian fellowship. I was born again then at 13. I remember those tender moments in my school in Penang, Malaysia. I still remember the lyrics clearly. I never regretted following Jesus. I want to Pass It On.

They tell some cool campfire ghost stories. I especially like the ghost stories about talking snakes, magical dirt men, magical ribs, magical fruit, food falling from the sky, talking donkeys, Noah's magic zoo boat, ghost sex, alien landings, zombies, magic hair, magical goblins, giants (Bigfoot), magically multiplying food, Elvis Presley post-death sightings, 900 year old humans, and a man who lived in a fish. 21st Century clergy tell the Magic Realm ghost stories so effectively that it gets the noobs scared of the Boogeyman. It's interesting how Christians evolved their campfire ghost stories for belief in the 21st Century. Believers watched many cartoons as kids leading to their belief in absurd stories. Their central character superhero version of an ‘Adventures of Superman’ is ‘Jesusman’ who is based on superhero cartoons and epic heroic folklore during TV Land’s “Leave it to Beaver” cultural indoctrination involving supervillain Eddie Haskell. Why does being ‘born-again’ make adults think like a five-year-old who lacks critical thinking skills?

@@rkooyers Well, you sure make some interesting points. You seem to believe that you know things that others fail to recognize. No doubt you are aware that many biblical stories are allegorical and at the time the cultures and knowledge were primitive compared with our time. Your final mention of critical thinking is rather surprising. My profession just happens to be mathematics, and to a lesser extent, physics. I steer clear of religious debates or heated discussions that involve more semantics rather than actual mathematical or physical proof. Moreover, there is no need to bring my own beliefs into a pointless argument. Many people do believe in the divinity of Jesus. History categorically affirms His existence. His divinity, of course, is an entirely distinct issue that nobody can 'prove,' and is a matter of one's faith. Apparently, there are huge numbers of individuals who have such faith. Among them are physicists, chemists, archeologists and mathematicians. It is a matter of almost universal agreement that such individuals rely almost exclusively on their impeccable critical reasoning ability. Thus, I do not see a lack of critical reasoning skills as necessarily influencing one's religious beliefs. A proof of the existence of God is beyond the scope of logic, as is its negation. They sing this in Boy Scouts just before the noobs are told some cool campfire ghost stories. As a teen singing group we spent Sabbath afternoons singing this song at afternoon church programs.

Saved November 1979, Evie became a great friend to this baby Christian! Her voice & music is imbedded into my earliest Christian concrete.

I sang this gem of a song at Grand Oaks Christian Church Camp to my first standing ovation by about 400 kids! I still love this song! Jeff Arnold

Same here...nostalgic mood for Evie in the last couple weeks.

This was a very popular Christian gospel song in my origin minority Christian country, Malaysia in the early 80s & also one of my favorite meaningful song. Still evergreen after 40 years. Praise the Lord !!! Amen.

Such peaceful feelings come over me when I hear this song! Brings me back to the 70's when I was a teenager and on fire for the Lord! How I wish I could get a do-over because I was not walking with the Lord for the entire decade of my twenties. Ten years wasted because I wanted to be in control of MY life instead of Jesus leading the way. I picked it back up, but oh how I wish I had let him lead me to the husband of HIS choice, for example. He gives us all free will to take those side streets and twists & turns as we see fit. Praise the Lord I found my way back to him when I had my first child and stayed the course until life dealt an unexpected blow. Then, once again, I determined that I knew best. Oh how wrong I was. But God stuck with me this time and once He got my attention He had my attention, if you know what I mean. I'm in it for the ongoing haul now and I will shout it from the mountain top, I want the world to know. The Lord of All has come to me, I WANT TO PASS IT ON. ❤🙏❤

Learnt it as a kid and sang it in my catholic Church, and today, I'm inspired by the word "fan to flame the spark in you", and was reminded of this song and started listening to it since ! WOW ! GOD'S works are wonderful and so I say - WOW : WORK OF WONDER, as an acronym ! PRAISE THE LORD ALONE ! GLORY TO GOD ALONE ! DIVINE NATURE (DNA).11062021.

Wonderful Evie singing of a wonderful saviour Jesus . Has been a means of encouragement and blessings to me for many years.

I used to have all of her albums back in the day.

Truly the song is blessing for our family the love of God we need to share.

Great song and singing.Sadly the young Christians now have not heard of Evie.

I was there that night. The Seattle Kingdome was packed. Standing room only for the Billy Graham Crusade. Good times. They put out word for the remainder of the nights and asked Christians to stay home and watch on TV so they had less chance of having to turn someone away who might need to come to Christ. This is the dome they blew up about 25 year later before it was even paid for so they could make way for bigger and better stadiums.

We sang this song in our church’s 12 member “girls choir” back in the early 1970s. (The boys thought they were too cool to sing in a choir.) I always loved it. I still have several of her vinyl albums. This video brings back the obvious joy she felt in her salvation. And she was so cute - that bright smile and those deep dimples!

This is an immortal song especially its lyrics millions have come to the Lord because of this wonderful song. I thank the composer of this song from the bottom of my heart 💖.

That's one of the rare early contemporary Christian songs that still works today. Certainly one of my favorites as well.

One of the classiest and purest singers I have ever heard! I first heard her voice playing over over the sound system at Oral Robert’s University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I believe it was 1976 and anytime I need to hear God’s love I listen to Evie ❤😊 because her voice and words connect me right back emotionally to God no matter where I am in life.

We sure loved this song back in the day. 💕

The music of my early childhood. It just feels right.

I heard this song years ago and it just recently came back into my head. I love this version by Evie. She has such a beautiful voice.

I remember seeing Evie in Minnesota in the early 70s. She had given the largest christian concert on record at that time. Now look at the impact of Christian music! You are a true pioneer Evie. We sang pass It On in college, "passing the love of God" as we poured the invisible substance from hand to hand around our circle of worship.

SUCH BEAUTY OF GOD REFLECTED IN EVIE'S ANGELIC FACE. I still have with me the cassette tapes of her two albums which I bought as a very young Christian in 1980. But it's only last week that I got to watch her wonderful videos on KZread. Indeed, such a refreshing voice she has and an inspiring woman of God she is. Evie, you're beautiful inside and out. I am blessed, and the world is blessed with you still around to bless people. Would love to see you do Christian concerts even at your age now, probably with equally anointed and powerful singers Sandi Patti and Amy Grant. That would be great for the Kingdom of God, I'm sure. Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus! Give them all to Him.

What a wonderful Christian lady. I was fortunate to get to meet her when I was 14 years old, in our small town of Yerington, Nevada. She inspired me, and I longed to have Jesus Christ in my heart too. She's an amazing person, full of God's love. My mother used to sing this song to me when I was a little girl. It has made an imprint on my heart 💝

Evie became popular toward the end of the "Jesus Folk" music era. There was a lot of amazing music from that time.

I love this song. I remember hearing it at the Breakaway Services I attended while a student at Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, WV. That was in 1979! I still love that song too!

We sang this in Catholic school back in maybe 1983-84 for the first time as a student body in school mass. I was in the 3rd grade for St. Anthony's in SF, CA. We sang a lot of her songs she had done throughout our school year, which later became mainstays long after I went to HS: - Pass It On - One Small Child (Christmas) - A Thousand Candles (Christmas) I'm sure there are more. I remember her distinct voice on the phonograph(!) when the teachers would have us practice in class. So many memories awaken just hearing her beautiful voice!

Why do I think that her rendition of the song is exactly what I have been following even if this is just the first time I heard her sing. She's singing like at the same time she is also passing a message. Singing like talking. Very nice voice btw. :)

1977~80 Was in Okinawa got born again. Into saints shared Evie, Keith Green, Dallas Holm, 2d chapter of Acts Etc

I came across an Evie album in 1980 and loved it. I then purchased other albums and I listened daily to her in my car for 4 years and she was a great catalyst for a young Christian at the time for walking in the Spirit 🙏
