I'm going to say something... To believe that their is no GOD, now validates that very idea that you don't believe in from the first place!.. now just think!!. To say ( I don't believe) is nothingness to begin with,, you must first believe in something to then not believe it, you simply cannot believe in something that you do not know the idea of to begin with!! I will share my experiences with anyone! Also the person who is being presented with an argument is the person who decides if it's valid, even if the claimant accepts what they are arguing. Clinical death is when a persons heart stops beating, however the brain is very active. Brain death is when all brain activity ceases. Nobody in all of history has come back from brain death. I totally understand. I honestly thought 90% of callers were trolls or pranks calls. It was such a strange realisation when I was hit with the gravity of it after watching the show for a while, that there are actually people who think like this and they do actually exist. I’m from the UK and I’ve never really met a religious person in my life and didn’t know it was this bad. It’s actually mind boggling that there are people who are so indoctrinated and frankly, brainwashed or are so wilfully and morally ignorant that they advocate for things like slavery because it pertains to their dogma. I always knew America had religious nuts but I didn’t know it was so bad and that it permeates all the way down into your politics and everyday life. It’s actually scary, they are like people from another age and are no different from Islamist extremists.

So every time he did that, I would give him a quote from Robert Jordans Wheel of Time (fantasy) books, as they were just as relevant as his bible nonsense.

Even crucifixions of many people during the time that Jesus supposedly lived. I’m pretty sure they would’ve noted if somebody called themselves a king and they crucified him. The best hypothesis I have when it comes to the existence of Jesus is thus. He was a failed apocalyptic preacher. One that made a name for himself with all of his talk about eternal life and salvation and damnation. And as stories get passed down through generations, they tend to be embellished. And why did the church have to have a meeting to include or not include certain books? Why are some of the books, and verses within them, seemingly copied from sources far older than them? You can’t use the Bible to prove God. It must be independently corroborated. All of it must be. Not just the parts you want.

It takes much more belief to be an atheist and evolutionist than it would to believe in a creator deity due the impossible chances of the concept of macroevolution even existing. The theory that living organisms spontaneously appeared and all the most complex organs known to science formed by random chance is outrageously absurd.

Guys, it is called blinded by faith. I KNOW this because I FEEL IT so strong, so it must be true. That's why it's called faith and not logic. So when you use logic, they can't even understand what you are talking about. All they hear you saying is "I'm evil, don't listen to me, I'm the devil misleading you, keep shouting out Jesus and you'll be able to win this argument". I use to be a believer, I know nothing could change my mind about things that don't even make sense because in my mind, they don't need to make sense, they just need to feel right. I think a believer will only come to their senses on their own, definitely not by confrontation.

Religion has been very usefull in the past mainly in uniting other people and probably other stuff as well (I am not that well informed so take what I say with a grain of salt). And in modern day its very usefull for emotional comfort. I dont believe in it and I cant imagine somebody does believe in it but I can understand the appeal.

But it has absolutely no relevance to whether or not any of this historical claims it makes are true and certainly has no relevance to whether or not a God exists. It's when people confuse, not only the Bible, but their Religious books in general for history books that the slippery slope is formed.

@Raul Hinojoza faith is to believe without proof. there IS proof of evolution and we don't have to SEE it or be there to see. Fossil evidence shows species evolving through the layers of rocks that have been preserved and mined. Also we CAN see one part of evolution even today. Evolution, the way I learned in school, was that DNA inconsistencies lead to the gene being passed on and on and natural selection can choose to keep it alive. Well if the first humans in Africa were black how are most westerners White? How did people with Blue eyes start? How did gingers begin? DNA inconsistencies being passed on from parent to child which can later lead to evolution if the inconsistency is big enough. but idk my argument probably has flaws

Raul Hinojoza ok if you think that there is no evidence backing the theory of evolution and that creationism is true then produce solid evidence that confirms that anything in the Bible is a historical fact. Any archeological evidence to prove the existence of Noah's ark? Any genetic studies that show that it's possible that every human on earth is descended from just two ancient humans? Any genetic studies confirming that all animals in existence are descended from a single breeding pair from Noah's ark? Why are the only accounts of any of the biblical events in the Bible? If they happened in real life why aren't there eye witness accounts written from people at the time for such fantastical events such as David slaying Goliath with a slingshot? That's a pretty badass thing to happen why are there not scores of written accounts from people who were there and saw it with their own eyes? Or even stories passed down through the generations from the granddad of grandpa's grandfather ? If the Bible and by extension god is real then surely there must be some evidence outside of the Bible that supports the claims made in it, where is this evidence?

Man I actually felt bad for the caller. All his points keep getting hammered and he keeps make bad excuses.

Raul if you're going to use an argument from authority you should consider that poll after poll reveals that more than 97% of scientists accept the theory of evolution, which increases to 99.85% among natural sciences (so excluding fields like engineering and computer science). It is not based on faith. It is based on the scientific method, where claims need to be falsifiable, and predictions need to be repeatable. The fact that I as a layman accept evolution, is because I accept that the scientific method has been the most reliable source of discovering facts about nature...don't you? And given the falsifiable aspect of the method, there's no reason for me not to accept what the scientific community has concluded. Unless I choose to believe there's some vast worldwide conspiracy to deceive us that's gone on for the last 150 years. Do you?

yeah, christians have a tendency to use God to apply to the most mundane acts. Who would have thought if there was a God, he works for us. If every person on the planet prayed once a day, God would be having to answer over 15 million prayers a year, and we know they pray far more then that about anything from getting to work on time, to apparently finding your glasses. They can't even follow their own doctrine "thou shalt not temp the Lord thy God.." Silly humans.

Matt's a truth seeker. An IQ is based on speed intelligence. Someone with a higher IQ can figure out how to fix a fan switch quicker than someone with a lower IQ for the first time following instructions. The majority of inventors don't have a high IQ.

Even most people in a mental institution are unaware of their brain deficiency. Once you throw religious indoctrination into the mix, the problem becomes even worse.

I will prophecy being the best call ever. I will then slip on banana peels and get pies in the face. By being so brain-stoppingly bad at "proving" God... ...my prophecy proves God. But wait. If it proves God...it wasn't silly. and if it wasn't silly, it wasn't the best. And if it wasn't the best, it doesn't prove God. PARADOX! Is Jehovah so powerful He can make a proof of his existence that is SO TERRIBLE...that it proves his existence?? Perhaps so. But if He did...the caller couldn't lift it. Of course they knew the was a globe. This was not new. The Earth does not hang on nothing. This is also one of the exact verses that lead Christians to incorrectly fight for the idea that the Earth was the center of the solar system. Don't let your feelings cloud your judgement. What you're experiencing is called "confirmation bias." Look it up and you'll see what I mean.

When I landed on this segment and read the title, I predicted that this caller would present the same BS as other callers. I was right. Assertions + No Evidence = Christianity

I dont think you understand what a prayer can do but ill be proud to tell you as a christian, ive struggled through my life and have fallen and fallen so many times in sin and even did yesterday and decided to change my life but it all starts with prayer, if you pray, it will reach to God and he will surely hear you and give you answer to your problem or what it is that you need but there are some questions he may not answer. Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Mathew 6:6 "But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." The Lord is just so GREAT! Amen! i will pray for you brother/sister!
