Steve, where's Tin?, now that you're in Taiwan it would be great if you Interview him and give him a "lift up" with a KZread channel, he has so much knowledge to share with the world in order to be preserved. Knowledge and skills must be passed on and never forgotten by new generations. The way you did the interview, tone, rhythm, proper questions and also the jokes were spot on, it feels like talking to a dear cousin and lets the viewer feel connected as if you were long time friends of the audience, from high school or childhood, something like that. Greetings from CHIAPAS MEXICO, big hugs to all the GN team and to Tin and Vince.

@@asnaeb2 Many cases can't fit it where it is either, haha. Most 4090s will not go in an O11D, which is probably the most popular type of case these days. Man, this succinct comment sums it up better than I could, without rambling on and on. EVGA, since I was probably 15 or so and started paying attention (am 30) always seemed like the de facto card you wanted as a consumer. Like, why WOULDN'T you bet the extra money on EVGA quality? All but guaranteed to be perfect out the box with better components than others of similar price. Having them as a reliable go-to/preference was a luxury, it seems. I get why they wanted to exit, I guess. It is just another example of how the business departments of the PC companies are really out of touch for the real world around them and their customers. You would think guys like him would be immediately snatched away to other companies GPU dev teams with the news of EVGA getting out. In my humble opinion and if done right people like him and TiN, are big selling points for the Gaming industry. But they all just more interested in how they can milking even more money out, and not so much in the product itself which they develop and produce.

Truth
Kingpin and TiN are such a legendary duo in overclocking. It's a shame that enthusiast driven projects like this have to end and people have to move on to different things. I was wishing this video would never end, excited for the other content you recorded with Vince!
This should be a museum for the golden era of PC enthusiast hardware. It is impossible to overstate the extent to which this man is a legend to tinkerers in my age bracket. Does anyone know when he started with EVGA? I was trying to find a timeline. Must have been at latest 2010.
Sad to hear the end of an era, but seriously: Kingpin is a legend! He will have no issues finding work
So happy to see Vince again, I wish him the best going forward!
Design inspirations were the most lowkey interesting tidbids for me. Cars, snowboards (and probably guitars and bikes)? Neat! Explains why their cards looked different from the common market decepticons, love them or hate them.
Right in the feels. Been a KP and EVGA customer since the 7XX refresh. I wish him and TiN the best; they really moved the bar and I hope someday they return to form.

Thanks. Perhaps not PC overclocking for me, but I do still play with very cold things in my own lab, so far near -260°C (or -432°C in freedom units :) to experiment with electrical measurements science.
End of an era. Love Vince and I hope he finds a new place. I started tearing up around the 4 way SLI conversation. The guys at EVGA are all legends in their own right. Proud to have collected an EVGA GTX 295 a couple years ago from a friend. I'm thinking about framing it in a shadow box at this point since it's in pretty rough shape.
I’m 32 now and back in the early 2010s I used to work multiple jobs to buy the kingpin cards. The man is a legend and it’s sad for me to see them exit the GPU market. That’s my adolescence man 😢
So sad to see EVGA & K|NGP|N GPUs went away like that... They both deserved a lot more respect and recognition! I have a 3090 FTW3 HYBRID and kind of want to keep it as a souvenir for later! EVGA and Vince you will be missed forever! Good luck to you both! ♥️ Ps: Thank you GN for that "last" video! 🙏
I really love how he is honest a talk about all what TiN has done! Really feel his passion
Great vid and always cool to hear the history with Vince. Lots of tidbits and things we never see, but makes me already miss EVGA as a GPU provider. Most of my GPUs have been from EVGA and seeing the passion from Vince and the history just makes it a bit more tragic in my eyes. Keep up the great work guys and can't wait for other shop vids.
This footage is awesome. We are watching the end of an ERA and I wish these guys nothing but success in all future endeavors.
While I never had an EVGA product, it still tears me up inside knowing this is coming to an end. When I was heavy into OC competitions I had nothing but respect for that hardware. I always had to work harder because of this, but I enjoyed the competition and the community. Those were some good times and boy the time flies. Thanks for this and the coverage. From and old school overclocker back in the socket 939 days Vince and the team at EVGA left their mark and something to be proud of. I know it's not over but it will never be the same. Hoist a tall one, our inspiration was your lofty records.

@@Josh_D78 I realize it’s asking a lot of an engineer. I’ve never understood why evga didn’t hit the cooling market harder. I’ve had both brands, my evga was great, but I prefer MSI more. Aesthetics are way better, im not a huge over clocker either. I think the EVGA engineers are F’n awesome, but I see why they hit a brick wall now. Aesthetics went out the window at the corporate level. As of right now if you’re wanting an aesthetically pleasing 3 series, you get the choice of MSI, or a few smaller Chinese/Taiwanese manufacturers. My 3060Ti doesn’t even have MSI lit up on it, has a very pleasing dragon logo, that lights up, along with 2 just perfect rgb lights. It’s not in your face, but also not cringe. It amazes me gigabyte stayed in the gpu market longer than EVGA. I’m not sure who’s buying gigabyte cards but they look super cheap. If you’re one of those even brand loyal people, MSI adapted and got rid of all the cringe during the pandemic, and imo it was for the better. You could probably slide it in a lot of builds and get away with it aesthetically.

Its so freaking cool you could put it all up in a tech museum. Thanks a lot for showing this historic rundown of all this cool stuff. You see the passion Kingpin and Tin had/have for the job they did.
Freakin awesome, man. Thanks so much for sharing your passion! I could never afford any of that stuff but I really loved watching it all happen! Thank you Steve for all of the work in getting over there and filming!! I love you guys!
This was so cool to watch verifying so much for me at the build level. He didn't make or engineer the products. The heavy lifting was always done by engineers beforehand with KingPin acting as a technologist. His work, no shade, was akin to that of an automotive tuner like AMG before the acquisition by Mercedes-Benz, kind of like 3M making products better. Folks, the ground work is still done by engineers. He was a conduit for the community of buyers and enthusiasts to give them what they wanted instead of having to hack it together with possible dubious results. Though not mentioned, I see the Z590 Dark, swell board that I'm using now with NVLinked EVGA 3090 XC3 GPUs for machine learning. What I do not know, and EVGA wasn't able to confirm is the purpose of the DIP switches to enable or disable power to the PCIe slots. That would have worked so well if, space available, the dip activated switches on the board to isolate the PCIe slots electrically, as the board still sees the other card and configures the lanes accordingly. With my use case, it would be so easy to flip the lid, toggle the DIP, unplug the second card's power connectors, and remove the NVLink for better performance when gaming, getting the full 16 lanes instead of eight. That feature appears to be downright useless. Does anyone have a use case for such a device? I chose the Dark for its features not pertaining to nitrogen overclocking. It replaced an ASUS Z590-E because of expansion slot spacing primarily. The PS/2 keyboard and mouse connector is also a hit. The only thing I would have loved would have been the addition of Thunderbolt 4 or the ability to add it in the future. It would have allowed the possibility to adding fast peripherals when both primary slots are used, while the third is covered by a GPU. It would be going through the PCH anyway, so please offer that as an option--talking to you EVGA : ). By the way, at the time of buying, the FTW3 boards were scarce at best and cost more than the Dark at market! Only one NIC killed it for me. Oh yes, give me the API to control the fans puhleezze! Gotta give it to you sir and EVGA, this Z590 is the best. Don't get me wrong; I do like the ASUS Z590-E. It would have been great if it could handle the RAM that the Dark does without a hiccup and have similar slot spacing. Plus, I have complete control over the fans from the OS. Sorry for the rant, just had to get that off.

Whatever comes next for EVGA's teams I wish them luck and hope they find the same success in the future.
Man, Vince is such a cool, swell guy! Sad that there will be no more KINGPIN edition cards, but it was a good run. Hope his future ventures work out for him, and hope EVGA can see some success in their future products!
This is like hearing an ancient wizard teach his most powerful spells, I love it
I could listen to this guy all day. A fantastic and very educational video
Great to see KP on the chanel again! I really hope EVGA starts producing AMD cards, and the story of the enthusiast brand EVGA with the mad scientist KP continues.

Sapphire and EVGA competing with each other has the potential to be an epic rivalry.
Hell yeah! I’m so excited to watch this! Keep up the amazing work guys!
So much history, passion and talent. All good things eventually come to and end. My first major GPU purchase was the GTX 7950GT which had twice the VRAM of their competitors. Amazing time to grow up with EVGA!
Thanks guys. it was a good watch really. didn't feel like youtube, being in the area in person, it brings memories :)
Happy trails Vince. I wish you only the best brother. Thanks Steve/GN for making this video.
This was like watching a wake. An end of an era. Good luck KINGPIN! Thanks GN for the tour!
Such an OG, respect for showing your gear. Love all the old school stuff. Many thanks to you both, warmed my old overclocking heart ❤️
This was a really, really cool video. Thank you, Steve! I only wish it would've been longer...
I've found if you want to ship unusual bottles of liquor out of a country, stuff that you could have issues with at customs (like whiskey with insects, snakes, lizards, etc), take off the labels with a heatgun or hair dryer, being careful to save them for later, heavily wrap the bottles in bubble wrap, and then safely pack them in a tote. Then put "Medical Samples" labels on the outside of the tote. Then, after you get home, neatly glue the labels back on. 👍
