Btw I should tell you alot of rap in the 80's and 90's talked about the hood because back then there were many people who didn't know what life was like in the inner-cities. Even tho gangsta rap was violent back then, it had a purpose.I remember watching interviews of those rappers and they explained the meanings pretty eloquently.The 2000's kinda shifted to rapping about the rapper's lifestyle and actual glorification of those things. But not all. The 2000's had good music but it (maybe unintentionally or intentionally) is what lead to what we have now.The 80's and 90's was the golden age, early 00's was the silver age with many hits.After that it was good songs come along every so often and progressively got worse.
