I live in Australia too, where do you get your jesmonite? Also the barns website seems to not sell it anymore?

How do you get away with not sanding it ? After etching all my pieces are so sharp and rough

You can. For Jesmonite AC100. Because you would etch the AC730 (if you want to) the mica powder would disappear 😁

Try Aqua-Resin; it seems similar. I’m waiting for my order to come!
