I'm 48, have never had an AMG and currently have a 2012 Jaguar XKR as garage queen and a Giulia 2.0 as my daily driver. I WANT THIS CAR! Ever since I heard about it a year ago, I want this one and ONLY this one! I don't care about the C63; my XKR has a 510 hp V8 that meets my needs (and is still perfect at 8 years old----something no AMG V8 can ever do). The insane, extroverted vibe of the CLA 45 is what I want.

First off, I watch all your videos. Super high quality, well thought through, and informative. (Especially E55's help me be less intimidated about working on mine!) But the inner skeptic of me makes me wonder whose car this is. Less reputable KZreadrs post videos of dealership or friends cars which makes me wonder how objective they can be. A disclosure up front of the car source may help us understand the perspective. If it's your car, congrats, and thanks for sharing!

I remember when AMG baulked at BMW adding ‘noise enhancement’ into the cabin. I guess they are on board with it now...

Unfortunately, they are forced to do this by new EU regulations on vehicle noise. The CLA45/A45 are the first models fall under this. Likely most new AMG releases going forward will be quieter on the outside. They've built such a reputation around engine sound, especially with the M156 '63' cars, that they are now resorting to 'noise enhancements' to fill the void. It just isn't the same.

Patrick Soon I don’t think so. If you play music and lift the floor of the trunk the small subwoofer under was working but it was weak. I’m testing the 2020 GLC 43 AMG now and the Burmester sound in the GLC is much better.

Great video, pretty much summed up everything, but theres a few wrongs in here. S model produces 421 HP not 415. The real performance sound is not artificial, it's actual exhaust noise filtered into the cabin.

Thanks. It's 421 metric PS or 415 mechanical HP. Also, from what I gather from AMG's press statement, it is actual exhaust pulses that are recorded but this is not an active system, rather pre-recorded. The recordings are done at the factory and are played in every 45 car through the speakers. They did a decent job with the sound.

I have a 2021 cla 45 amg, the s won't come to this country due to the Highway safety administration... so I'm taking mines to barbus to make it an s lol

its better trust me. I had the old one, the class 250 2020 and now I have the class 45 mag 2021. the new one is way much better, now I'm taking it to barbus to make it into a cla45s lol

The numbers look good, but it sound so weak. I'd rather have a 10 year old E55 than this one, or 5 year old E63S for the same money actually. though the turbo ruin the V8 sound.

What's the point of getting this car new? With taxes, freight, and options it's in 2019 CPO C43 territory. Heck, you can probably get a CPO C63 for the price of one of these new - and those are much better cars than a CLA45.

Totally agree, if you don't care for all the latest tech features and just want a powerful engine and a slightly bigger car, the C63 is a great option. Haven't driven a w205 C63 yet but I understand why it's been so popular.

1) This engine is handbuilt 2) There have been handbuilt non-V8 or V12 AMGs in the past such as the C32 and C36 AMGs and those are absolutely real AMGs.
