Everything You Need to Know About Silver Coin Capsules! (And Silver Bar Capsules)

In this video I talk about silver coin and silver bar capsules! Here are the links to the products that I talk about in the video:
38mm Black Ring Coin Capsules

38mm Clear Airtight Coin Capsules
amzn.to/2Z01Of7
Queens Beast (High Relief, 2 Ounce) Black Ring Coin Capsules
amzn.to/2KoZJoB
40mm Black Ring Coin Capsules
amzn.to/2YUZFB9
40mm Clear Airtight Coin Capsules
amzn.to/2TieEE4
1 Ounce Silver Bars Clear Airtight Capsules
amzn.to/2GTihvh
10 Ounce Silver Bars Clear Airtight Capsules
amzn.to/2GYbfW4
I also show some tricks on how to encapsulate your silver. I talk about what types of silver that I think need to be encapsulated and I show you how to do it! I believe that if you are buying coins for a collection then you can buy whatever capsules you like the best for them. I personally prefer the black ring capsules for my silver coins because I think it makes the silver POP! Some people are bigger fans of the clear airtight capsules. Regardless of which capsules you like the best I think that putting your collectible silver bars or silver coins that you want to keep in pristine shape is a must!

I am OCD, all of my silver and gold are in capsules...every bar, every round, every coin. I know its completely unnecessary BUT! I want to do my best to keep every piece nice and shiney and fingerprint free. And if my sizes are off by 1mm I have to find the right size capsule.

Exactly. Gold and silver is a big investment. Protect your investment in an air tight capsule or other capsule. Who wants beat up and tarnished metals when they didn't come that way?

I'm putting my bullion in capsules. Longterm holder, I love handling and looking at all my coins. Protecting my bullion (investment) after paying $550 for 20 coins, a plastic capsule and air tite tube is a nominal payment to protect my investment. My opinion. Love your videos.

Good tutorial video, I keep about 50 each 38 and 40 on hand and I keep them closed in labeled clear bags. keeping them closed keeps any possible the dust out till needed. I also keep my collectable notes in semi rigid top loaders then add them to 3 pocket currency sheets in my albums I made. I don't advise buying currency albums. Buy the clear 3 pocket currency holders then buy a few 3 ring binder's to put them in. I have more one's, twos, fives so their in a 3 inch binder where my tens, twenty's' fifty's and 100's are in a 1 inch binder. I didn't notice how old this video was till I stared typing.😀

The 2018 Perth Mint Bar sells really well on the secondary market. They have become harder to get. As for capsuling coins or rounds, I think a major factor of if you decide to encapsule is who you're planning to sell too. If you plan to resell and get retail for your silver a capsule always helps in my opinion.

Good video im not a sivler stacker myself only gold and you showed the difference between the capsules that the mint provides vs re encapsulateing your coins or rounds with the black ring foam i alway open up anything that comes in a capsule because i recived a 24k buffalo and when i opened it up there was damage around the outside because its 24k is alittle softer and whoever capped it put it in and snapped it closed and got the edge .so yeah those with the black foam are better .

Thanks for the video. What I really needed to know but didn’t see it discussed is who sells the coins that are of good quality plastic. I bought a box of those ones that are sold everywhere and come in a cardboard box and their image has black background. When you close the two halves there are many micro cracks along the circumference where the two halves of the capsules lock. But when I receive coins from people which were already encapsulated their plastic quality was just better. I don’t know which to buy.

I strongly advice us to get involved in DAY TRADING properly guided by a pro traded with a working strategy/daily signals. For me it's been very successful because i was being guided by a pro trader called Mr. Richard whose strategy/daily signals has proven to be so accurate and well analyzed. Trading and growing my portfolio from 0.9btc to 5.8btc within 4 weeks is so awesome and credible. Don't you think this is the right time to grow the little we hold ahead of more bullishness ? I do have a question though.... some gold bullion comes in sealed / vacuumed package (maple leaf) ... i just started stacking and never had pms in my hands before so i opened to feel and hold. Is that bad? All my bullion is 2020...for now. Rcm shields and what not. In your opinion is it ok to handle my bullion coins and not risk devaluing since theyre not proofs or collectables? I literally just want to hold handfuls of gold and silver but not at a loss. Lol

  • @paulrichards383

I prefer air-tite the most... because I pretty much capsule them all and it takes up less space that way. Probably best to tell the viewers the sizes.... Basically anything Canadian will be 38mm Most generic and Perth Mint fits in 39mm Libertad, South Korean, and ASE uses 40mm (will actually be larger than 40 since ASE is 40.6) Rings are good for really odd sizes... or if you don't have the exact air-tite capsule size.

I got some 39mm from the same vendor for some poker chips I wanted to save. They also work with Silver Eagles, but are tight so a little small. (The foam kind of crunches up if not careful on one side.)

Can you tell us which capsules are compatible with which coins? For example, I bought a bunch of sovereign silver, will ASE capsules fit Maple Leafs, will Libertad capsules work for Philharmonics and so on. I've had trouble finding capsules that fit even very popular coins. Also, what brands are quality and not? Why do Panda capsules become convex? Are the ring ones where you can pick the size for the coin any good? Is Amazon the best place to buy capsules? I think there is quite a bit you can add to this video.

@@SilverDragons47 It can be confusing even looking at the air tites site for someone new to metals. I had some Canadian wildlife coins and i ordered the ones they recommended on their site but when i went to put the coins in they were too tight....So tight that you would have to press them in then if you ever needed to get them out you would have to pry them out with a metal pick...NOT GOOD. And they acted like they had never ever had that problem but they did exchange them for me for ones with foam rings. The capsules that Chinese coins come in are domed shaped and are considered premium but i dont like them because they are too easy to drop...And i have accidentally dropped a few of the older more expensive pandas and cracked the capsules. That sucks.

@@jonathonbales9316 The only reason I air tite even my bullion coins is because my heart breaks each time I see a tiny scratch on a piece of masterfully built history. Slabbed "first editions" and "first strikes" are indeed a massive scam, anything bullion slabbed would be a scam unless you have something like semi numismatics where each year they come up with a different design, such as the panda or kookaburra. Those run into a few hundred thousand and an MS70 is worth slabbing for future appreciation. If you have a limited release coin that comes from a famous mint like the mexican mint does with their Libertad, they are definitely worth slabbing as well. Same goes for older numismatics such as the English Crown in excellent condition, and if you have junk silver with key dates, you might wanna hold off on cleaning it and having your local dealer examine if it's worth having it slabbed.

That extra dollar or so is worth it to me too keep my bullion nice and shiny looking, free of tarnish or fingerprints. I keep all of mine in a capsule or vinyl sleeve. I don’t collect actual coins so I’m not concerned with toning. And I’m not a fan of it either. I like the mirror finish. It’s all personal preference I suppose! But with actual coins I can see you’re point, bullion not so much. And milk spots are entirely different, that isn’t a type of toning, it’s left over detergent or borax from the mint. Doesn’t look good, you can use a white eraser to remove it really easily, red erasers are to abrasive, use a towel to remove the black off the eraser every so often. Would only do it to bullion though as it does slight buff the surface, looks way better though. Baking soda bath won’t work for milk spots well
