When you look closer at the hire it's a decent hire. Of course there were better choices but those where taken and I think he can get creative with this roste. Also I think the players on our roster weren't used to the best of their ability and can do much better.

Let's give the man a chance he's got some upside to him

Marsh I honestly think Bowen was a good pick why would I want a db coordinator in his first year calling the shots then growing pains and room for era because it’s his first year I like the experience pick

The changes from year to year could have been personnel like FA leaving

Kyle A. C+ to B- right in the middle. I think with his youth, but experience, I think the roof is higher for him than the floor! We have some decent players on defense in all levels. But we’re gonna need new ones to replace the ones that are leaving this year and not to mention the competition For the bodies we bring in for the ones that leave. Looks to be very important to really bolster our secondary, which includes our safeties as well. Obviously, banks will grow! What’s going on with Tre?? I know we started at the beginning of the season, that was yanked and was having growing pains, but it’s not like he’s a bust, especially being drafted so late? I like Penock and Belton. We should almost do a segment on defense or position groups and offense, etc.

i hope this new dc can work with Db if not then the Giants are toast end of story

I believe that sb is going to do a great with the people around him

We won't know at this time of course it's wait and see for EVERYTHING involving the Giants

Thanks for the breakdown. Yeah, I definitely feel good about Bowen. With Andre and Jerome working with him, I feel like this defense could be better (not comparing to Wink, but one of the better defenses in the NFL). I like that he has been a DC and the opportunity for growth with the players the Giants have. Just have to work on pass defense. I was hoping that Jerome Henderson is presented with an opportunity to become defensive pass game coordinator. Either way, hoping for the best.

i live in Tennessee we had a great D line mainly run stoppers since 2021 Vrabel picked him to stay because he agreed to run 4-3 here

the stats matches his defensive package inclination. let the other team make a mistake, don't bend, don't break. but it also puts pressure on defense to not make a mistake. defense is bending almost breaking yet coach mentality is saying just don't bend, guys. there has to be a better way. if one gets paid to their job and that's all they do, they should be able to find it imo. the mentality of don't bend is the offense passing scheme will break first since a passing attack is a precise mechanism that needs precise execution (more prone to "breaking" first) and i assume this dont bend mentality is geared towards a pass-heavy team (probably why rush yards allowed is low too but idk). and the league is a pass-heavy league. he fits right in. but, i think a great defense forces offense to do what the defense wants, not the other way around imo

Someone please start moving thibodeaux around! Use him like parsons is used. Hes so much better than what people think. Hopefully bowen unlocks that next level for thibs

I don't love the pick but I don't hate it. Bend but don't break sucks when the other team gets momentum and can lead to being unable to finish games like under Pat Graham. We will see.

DCs don't tackle anyone. Having a good DC is important, but having good players is just as important. So you can't talk about one without including the other. So for comparisons sake who do you think has the better defensive players, NJ or TN?

I’ll be happy to see the Eagles losing streak continue and DAK losing in the playoffs. I think Schoen is going QB with #1 instead of getting an OL stud like Joe Alt.

Ppl love Wink but he cusses out his boss then tries to sabotage certain games and Bowen defense was better in damn near every stat on defense so what is there to love

As a Titans fan Bowen sucks! He only had one good year as DC and that was due to Jim Swartz in staff consulting him

Marshall you keep making a big deal out of Dabes and it’s ridiculous. There has been zero chatter from Mara and until there is the rumors of his demise are uncalled for and unproductive.

Agreed. Also you said that Daboll and Schoen "lied to us" because they did not admit that Bowen was not their first choice. Thats just plain silly. How can you say about a new hire: well he wasn't our first choice, but... That's idiotic and undermines the new guy from day 1

If not Brian & Shoen will be out fired

It really won't make a rats flatulence worth of difference if Dex, Thibs, Okereke and Banks don't have adequate helpers.

Wink failed, Daboll. What head coach wouldn't be pissed when his defense coordinator is dialing up unnecessary blitzes allowing 28+ points per game.

@dmgib5239 the only reason it reflected that way was because the offensive line had allowed the 2nd most sacks in nfl history. Not to mention our starting qb was out.

C, seems to be middle of that pack at everything

Just rebuild the 90s and 2000s giants. They would've dominated now

3-4 defenses don't work. Forget about the Giants having a good defense.

B hire at best ... we need help overall and actual playmakers can we get a real pash rusher that gets sacks please !
