Hoshiguma is not the only operator that have resist in her kit, Blitz and Coissant also have it (they just didn't translated it the same way because... you'know...). Croissant for both Arts and Physical, Blitz only for physical. Hoshiguma is the only one that have it affect True damages. The real difference between dodge and resist: Dodge count as "not being hit", resisting a hit still count as being hit, otherwise Hoshiguma's S2 wouldn't reflect damages on the hit she block, and croissant wouldn't gain SP on her deffensiv recovery skill. There's also an argument that Mudrock/Viviana/Roberta's shield are functionaly the same thing but not RNG based, the same way Flametail S1 garentee that she dodge the next hit. "At the moment there only very few operators with sancutary, but HG can cook some realy cool buffers with it" Bro, you mentioned Silence alter 3 lines ealiers, what do you think THE thing of her whole archetype is??? xD

    1. It's worth stating that damage reduction is applied after defensive stats (which is weaker than the reverse), and that almost all DR is physical and/or Arts. Zaaro P1 has 30% physical and Arts reduction (to make his HH harder to dispel), which is why Mon3tr did disproportionately well. On the other hand, Zaaro P2 has a -50 ASPD debuff aura, one of the few things that will (indirectly) debuff true damage if it's in range. 2. Fragile and generic Arts amplification stack multiplicatively. Generic amplifiers either stack additively with one another or apply only the strongest effect, in this case I believe the former. Fragile doesn't stack with itself. Also there's Arts fragile (from incantation medics), which also stacks multiplicatively with the other two. 3. On top of dodge, Ascalon introduces accuracy, which works as you'd expect. Ascalon has 50% dodge and inflicts -50% accuracy so most enemies have to pass two coinflips to damage her. 4. The attack debuff from Necrosis starts at 50% but decays, so it's not as strong as the sustained debuff of, say, Shamare's doll. 5. Since you talked about buffs, you showed Amiya getting Aak'd but didn't say that she got a massive 2.25x DPS boost (not even counting Skadi) from +50% ATK and +50 ASPD, which stack multiplicatively. Aak may be the only relevant ASPD buffer, but there are some crazy snowballing effects from Integrated Strategies relics with ASPD, ATK, and damage amplification relics combining. Maybe that's beyond the scope of the video, but it's a fun leverage point when you can take advantage of it (some event mechanics also give ASPD buffs, like CW and ZT). 6. On the topic of lethal damage, I'd add the footnote that for units with two health bars (Horn, dreadnought modules, not just dollkeepers) the hit that phases them doesn't transfer damage to the second health bar, so you can be at 1 HP, take 5000 damage, and be at 100% HP with the second wind. When HP management around these units is important, that fact comes in clutch. 7. It's a bit of a rabbit hole of patchwork rules, but reflect damage and damage crediting are worth understanding. I remember a ZT boss kill that used Horn S2 (retreating right after launching her nuke) to bypass the boss' directional immunity. Enemy reflect damage is rarely relevant besides thorny chests in IS, but with RA2 on the horizon and those awful vein guardians (the ones with massive HP and reflect) I'd go over things like how Ling S3's dragons' DoT is credit to Ling, Dorothy's mines are not credited to her (to my dismay in the IS4 deep investigations, where she doesn't benefit much from the mushrooms), etc. There was a funny bit of crediting in a Kazi clear of SL-EX-8 where Młynar on a fountain used his reflect talent to let other Kazi operators spread white steam. 8. Also! There are damage redistributions (chapter 14 adds both an enemy and another bard with these effects, and I believe both work on true damage), damage deferral (Gavial S3), and %HP loss (Zaaro's HH, Kazemaru, Fiammetta), which scale with max HP (which means HP buffs make them harder to keep alive). 9. As someone else pointed out, operators other than Hoshiguma have resist and the difference between resist and dodge is that resist also ignores status and elemental effects attached to the resisted attack, while dodge and shields (at least what I recall of Mudrock) do not. Shields act as 100% proc single-instance dodge. Operators with resist include Blitz (25% physical talent), NCD (70% ranged physical S2), Kal'tsit (50% physical S1), Liskarm (100% all types S1), and Rathalos Noir Corne (100% all types S1). Also some effects are explicitly triggered by dodge (Flametail talent, The Return in IS), and resist wouldn't affect those. I'm sure I'm missing a lot and I know you were just wanting to cover the basics in a digestible and accessible manner, which you did a great job at, and these are largely minutiae and edge cases, but I thought I'd share some information in case anyone would value it.

One of the most well informed comments I received in my career so far. I really appreciate you for adding all the information about the topic in the comment section. As you mentioned correctly the video was meant to give a good introduction to the topic and should be simple and digestable, especially for newer players. I am very very careful with not having too much information about all the topics so it won't become too overwhelming. I myself easily lose interest in things if there are too many things I don't understand. Especially if I watch a video and at the end of it, I am even more confused. My Goal with those guide Videos are to keep Arknights easily accessible and understandable even with the addition of the many mechanics and Operators. The last thing I want to do is overwhelm newer players even more and potentially scare them away from the franchise. I am really thankful for the people in the comments such as you to expand on the topics, so people that do have an interest in understanding it a bit deeper, have a place to check.

Just as a bit of a reminder, the Arknights wiki crew migrated from the fandom page to the gg page because of the miserable service, so you should probably use the gg wiki for the sources. The fandom wiki has a lot of problems (aggressive ad integration, AI 'summaries', senseless links to other wikis etc) that has many communities migrate their wikis away from their site, but because of how google works you will still often find the fandom wiki first, but it is no longer getting updated and given that anybody can edit it I wouldn't rely on the information. By using the gg wiki you can actively help that google considers it before the outdated and no longer updated fandom version, so Cesith should probably change the links in the sources description for some of the pages.

Hoederer does it. The ops you named are elemental damage and there is a resistance stat to counter it, though luckily no enemies have this resistance yet. It is important to distinguish them, because we know they work differently and this may still be relevant eventually.
