Flat-Shroom isn't the only one that suffers from this. Magnet-Shroom also suffers not from his purpose and niche, but the environment. There's not nearly as much armor and more importantly tools for him to rip from zombies compared to PvZ 1. It sucks how these plants with unique traits suffer not from their niche but their environments around them.

Though the biggest difference between the two is that Magnet shroom was intended to be more of a generalist plant (like in PvZ1) that can be used in anyworld, while Flatshroom is a world-specific and niche plant. Magnet shroom doesn't work because of the game's general design with its zombies, while Flatshroom doesn't work because of a specific world's level design which could've been easily fixed. Just pointing it out I guess.

I bet! I am pretty sure steam ages on pvz2 reflurished will have 32 levels, considering the "part 1" was released with 16 levels. And since the world doesn't have glitches like in chinese version(I hope I didn't play it yet), we can be confident that the zomboss fight is going to be epic in steam ages reflurished.

I don't think I'd describe it as "buggy" but it sure doesn't sound like they uh... really finished it? Also a lot of the interactions in this world are like really specific and kinda reek of "hey here's plants that you gotta level haha- or else."

Pretty sure that's a pressure gauge, not a clock. Seems consistent with its role of telling how 'fired up' the furnace zombie's boiler is.

As someone who actually played it back when it was coming out back in 2018, I can't see why people would say it's a buggy mess unless they've never experienced it. Sure there are zombie animation problems and some minor bugs but it's more like an underbaked cake than a total buggy mess The way they make the Chinese version of the game sure is a lot different than how it's done by the people working on the international version, but they do at least try. I'd rather take a world with a few animation errors and a couple minor issues over just about any of the terrible games on mobile. PvZ2 Chinese edition may have its' fair share of problems but I bet most people would take those problems over having to play games like candy crush or its' 500 clones

I've played and gotten very far into PvZ China, and it's actually really really fun, especially not knowing the language and using my prior PvZ knowledge to figure out what's going on, and all the cool minigames that are really fun (but also brutal)... then after 2 months, my progress restarted, but point is, great video and I hope other people play this, it's really worth it!

PVZ 2: Waits for the Nightcap. PVZ2C fans waiting for the Zombot for SA: First time?

I probably wouldn't have found anything on this outside of Reflourished if not seeing this video. I love what Reflourished has done with the world (it looks mostly entirely different mechanically) and it's interesting to see the differences.

You know, the only part of PVZ2 china I have good knowledge of is Kong Fu World and sky city because I used to watch let's play videos of these 2 worlds a lot when I was younger back in 2015, but i have never been able to catch up with the rest of the content in this version, i mean, i spent like 6 years not knowing that dinossaurs worked differently in the Chinese Jurassic Marsh. The only thing I knew about steam ages was lacking a boss, the overall zombies and some of the plant's designs. I had no idea about flat shroom, all the lies and actual flaws surrounding it, what most plants did or the entire fact that this world even had a gimmick, pretty wild. I did try playing it once but then gave up because pirate seas was too hard, i intend to try it again now going for difficulty order but that's still in a very "far future", as first i pretend to complete reflourished and journey to the west. So until then I would love to see more videos like this to know what truly lies within this game.

Steam Age is without a doubt my favorite Chinese world. I love the theme and the designs of the zombies and I absolutely adore the music. While I’ve never played the official Steam Age, because I have no clue how to get my hands on the Chinese version, I have played the reflourished version and I thought it was incredibly made. While the official and reflourished versions are both very different, I’m just glad I got to play any version of Steam Age. I’m glad reflourished managed to do Steam Age justice, and I hope furnace zombie gets added to reflourished because I think that furnace zombie has to be the coolest and most original idea in the game.

The problem is that the properties of plants, zombies and objects are registered in their classes, and modders have not learned how to add their own classes.

Fun Fact: In some concept art for SA, there were plans for Ladder Zombie to return in this world. It also confirmed another unused zombie: Cylinder Zombie.

Thankfully PVZ 2 Reflourished redeemed this world It also had completely different gimmick Wich involves zombies emerging from sewers to eat plants from behind

Sure, the dummy thicc furnace could count as visual, but I'm pretty sure he is not supposed to stand there waiting to die

I feel like flat shroom weather bugged or not should remove the steam as its cutting off the flow of the steam which should eventually get rid of it, so it couldve been like after 2 or 3 seconds of being placed the steam would disappear

I always just liked steam ages because of its theme and it simply being sorta steampunk

Reflourished definitely giving this world some love. Heck, the teaser before the Garg level seemingly hints towards the reusing of those steampunk zombies for part 2 (a mechanic, as well as an aerodynamic expert… Probably that flying guy who became the Leaper.)

I swear in reflourished steam ages is hard because of the sewer holes.

Summary: It's not a buggy mess, but it's a mess nonetheless.

Steam ages is just an example of rushing and giving a release date too soon. The world would be great is developers took time and if the developers gave us the release when the world was basically finishing development. They just wanted to release the world as soon as possible considering that they were already making "sneak peaks" too soon. If they waited for the development process to be 70% done, they should've given us the "sneak peaks" then, not 2 weeks after the development of the world. I am kinda sad to say that the developers won't be getting back to this world any time soon. I mean it's been 4 years and still no zomboss fight? I mean if they can't fix the Furnace Zombie, we can just be ready for the chaos that zomboss fight will have to offer(if it ever gets released which I sadly doubt). And tbh it is a bummer, cuz this is one of my favorite worlds, the art is amazing, the mechanics are really well made, the zombies are cool etc. But all these things would've been great if the developers took time. Literally nothing else. Well, the only thing that they can do is completly rework the world which won't happen but who knows, maybe they will run out of ideas and they will finally do something about it.🤷‍♂

Playing pvz2 china myself, I can say these annoyances, regardless of being bugs or misunderstood features, heavily discouraged my engagement with this world But let's be honest people only play this game for the flashier and cooler exclusive worlds, like kung fun and sky city

I am one of those idiots who think that the Chinese version of pvz 2 is very broken mess but I still like that version so much, I even still have it on my phone and sometimes prefer it over the original... if I was using my phone at home which happens very unoften.

This game actually looks so much better than english pvz2, even the ui when selecting a world is sick as hell

Steam Ages is a pretty easy world tbh, the only levels that can get EXTREMELY hard are the special deliveries (especially days 12 and 17 due to the tanky zombies) and the levels with the transportational sewers (which are glitched). The one nitpick with the gimmicks is that the transportational sewers as I said before are quite bugged, and the fact the zombies can eat Flat-shroom, even away from the side B sewer makes this gimmick just overall annoying, why couldn’t Talkweb makes it work like the tunnels spawned by the Lost Guide? And while the brand new Steam Ages zombot, nicknamed “Zombot Loco-Motive” or just “Steam Zombot” is solid and is also a really hard boss level, this doesn’t really make the world any better. Steam Ages is a cool world, and I hope that Renaissance Age and Heian Age get their Zomboss fights one day, but tbh, Steam Ages is the best so far!

I see, so they just don’t have the correct graphics/didn’t spend time making graphics for Furnace and Wheelbarrow.

Music from the game Gravity, it's this puzzle game where you hit this ball into buttons to clear levels using physics. Friend showed me the game and I really liked this track from it, I don't think the track has a name.

bro for some reason when I beat egypt I unlocked steam ages, not pirate seas, so I unlocked heath seeker to try to advance in lvls bc it was too hard for a new player yea, the third I unlocked were heian ages. PAIN

It's quite a rare sight see chinese developer give us development history in their game becuase Chinese game company are notorius for being not very transparant and rather stingy at best compared to Korean and SEA game company that is notorius for being heavy p2w and competetive lock behind p2w mechanics in most of their games.
