Soooo glad to see you back again! I went out and bought a 2000 323i with low miles and I have it running great .the guys at work think it's the best BMW in the world. Little do they know that I have a secret in my pocket....and it's the fact that I've watched your channel over and over and over.......thanks Kid!!!!

I had e46 323 Ci for a few years, it was really a very fun car to drive
I no longer have a BMW that I’m working on but man are your videos addicting. Can’t wait to watch you work on this car!!!
Keep it stock. Try to reference any problems that convertible E90s have while doing your sedan. Looking forward to the videos!
I want to see more videos with ISTA diagnosis. INPA is the old set up and it is often in German. I would love to see a basic 101 on ISTA and may be do a multipart series showing the common things and approach to learn and then use the software.

I wish I could get ista installed correctly so that it would actually communicate with the modules and give me a few things in English so I'm not burning up Google Translate. I can look at error codes and I can change some of the settings and do live data but I've yet to be able to get communication with the modules. I don't have module problems on my E46 yet but that day will come. I would like to have NCSexpert up and working when that time comes.
Vanos solenoind AND Vanos filters, I would check and clean those, because of previous owners did not change oil often, they might be caked. Especially Vanos filters (check valves) on left side of engine block, nobody knows about them. They are easy to clean or replace. Can be removed easily with an aid of a mirror on a stick (or by feel after filming the area with a phone, like I did). Vanos solenoids can be tested in INPA, there is a test function for them.
On the tint, spray it liberally with window cleaner that is ammonia based. The put a plastic garbage bag over it, set it out in the sun for about an hour and the tint will come off much easier. I have done this with a few really old, cheap tints like yours and it works really well.

Nice I'll try that myself. I have tint stuck on my back window and with the defroster there, scrapping with a razor wasn't an option. Thanks

Isn't this trick for getting the glue off after you peel the actual window tint off first? The problem is, since it bubbled up, as I peel it off, it keeps ripping

This happens when you go to the cheap places. For tinted windows I always pay the big bucks and you get lifetime warranty.

Yeah this is more for the little pieces/residual leftovers after you've already tried to remove it. Use a stand up garment steamer - steam is pretty much the only thing that will cleanly make it come off. A heat gun works too, but as the steam billows out I feel if would allow for greater coverage while you go making it peel cleaner
Here we go! Put on your seatbelt, this is going to last for 15-20 DIY's! Love it, you are one adventurous bimmer nut. Looking forward to see what you do 1st. Forget most of the mods, focus on typical repairs. Too many mod vids already.
would like to see x5 e53, M54 engine plus newer stuff in the early teens. Also workshop tips like how to get to a bolt that has little clearance, how to find a lost nut, how to get in tight spaces, general stuff that turns a project into a much longer one. I like the tip on putting a paper towel on a bolt to hold it on socket.
Your videos on e46 are first choice DIY guide. They cover almost all the big and small stuff one does on e46. For this e90 all of that is expected :)) And it very nice that you've chosen N54 engine as your project. Anyway, I'm sure we will get a perfect guide for this awesome car.
As an E90 owner, this channel is pure gold
😭 bless you, I just got a 335i a month ago after selling my e46 so you're videos gunna be very useful AGAIN!
You make the most detailed and best videos. Glad to see you’re making vids again. Thank you!
Super nice video! So good of you to really go through and film all the points that you'd like to address, that is what makes such a video interesting. We all know how exciting the first experience a new old car can be and it is nice to share this with all of us in such detail.
Thanks for sharing! Lots of videos coming. It’s definitely a new motivation to keep making videos, and I’m really glad and excited about that! 😁🔧
Loved your E46 and E53 videos. Can’t wait for the E90’s videos. Been wanting to buy one.
I love window tint for aesthetics and the fact people can't see me. Tint only really peels like that when it's a bad install or a cheap, dyed film. To each their own!
Congratulations on your 50sKid achievement! I look forward to seeing the maintenance and upgrades videos on this wonderful German Supra! Success!
Absolutely love the car , the color an the 335i twin turbo. Super excited for all the upcoming videos ! Great choice
Hey youre making videos again! Sick man. Used your manual swap guide to swap my e46 330, only started working on cars a year earlier, a testament to your video quality mate. 15k ks still going strong. Keep it up
I'm getting one soon. You helped me with ground up on my e46 touring. Now a new chapter.
DIY everything you can (or willing) and when it's all done and you've covered it all, then start modding or whatever you want. I'm just glad that you're still around and I can learn from your stuff.
Oh, Am so glad to have you back. I have an E89 with the N52. Looking forward to your DIY videos. You’re the best!
O2 sensors can be tested in INPA, there is a test function for them and it shows low and high values for each of the 4 O2 sensors in the end. These test functions are not simple readouts, it actually tests them on a running engine and lambda will be changing.
Man, do whatever vids or mods on this thing that you like! I have an M54 E39 and your channel has been INCREDIBLE for me working on it. I'm here to watch whatever you do!
so glad to have you back. i want to pick one of these up later this year or early next year. more in depth DIYs would be great and any mods you personally like would be cool to see so we can get a feel for what kinda car guy you are haha
Love the new car! Can't wait to see all your videos about it!! Thanks for the inspiration man!

Still rocking my e46 325i but contemplating moving to an e92 335i. Thank you for this, love the format ^^
I unfortunately sold my BMW E46 330i Mtech 1 more than a year ago and miss it so much but I continue watching your channel! You helped me so much to get my car in mint condition! You deserve so many more subscribers and just thank you again for your detailed video's!
I always toss around the idea of getting a 335i as an upgrade to my e46 330xi. I'm glad you're here to do these videos so I know what to look out for if I do.
I am glad you are back!!!
Hey, Love your videos! I can't thank you for your e46 videos, i learned so much from you. I own e46 with m54b25 engine it's facelift with m package. I would rebuild it and maybe change some visuals but the rest I would leave stock. Your E90 looks great. Looking forward for upcoming videos!
Engine and transmission mounts: you can do them since you will be under, they are 100% gone if they were not replaced. HPFP: I would not replace, but check on INPA or android apps (Bimmer-Tool) to see: fuel pressure and pump PWM, if PWM is hovering at 50-60% (maybe up to 70%?) then pump is not struggling to keep pressure and no point replacing it yet. As it wears out PWM would go up.
Hi Jason. I just finished my E82 oil pan gasket. I'm original owner, first oil pan gasket change on my E82 after only 72,000km. It had been dripping for a while actually but it was a fun job. No rush so I was able to take my time. Great to see your videos again.
I'm glad you're back hopefully you keep making videos for the e46 , I'm trying to fix the convertible top on mine, big shout out from mexico
Personally I'd like to see DIY videos...like those you did on the E46. Thanks I have many of the same issues.
50skid is BAAAACCKKKK BOYYYSSSSSS AND GIRLLSSSS AHHHHHHHHHH its not an E46 but I just love casually watching your videos, I am so incredibly hyped for this!
Excited for more videos! If you have access to a steamer, Use that to remove the tint. If done properly it will peel off the tint without leaving any residue
I have learned how to work on my 06 330 I by watching this dude. My absolute favorite.
After moving on from my e46 and watching all your diy's on that platform, it would be great to see a repeat series this chassis.
Hey Jason, thanks for all the help, I rebuilt almost everything on my E46 using your videos. Just a suggestion for the interior trim. I couldn’t personally find any thing in the junkyard that was in a good condition, so I stripped the original paint and used (SEM Paints SEM15243 Satin Black) on the steering and (Colorbond LVP Refinisher) on the center console and other trim. Both had very satisfying results.
Bro I'm so happy your back!!!!
You're looking healthy dude 👌 keep up the good work as usual! Window tints are good when you have kids but the peel does suck 😂 Gonna be doing the vanos rebuild on my m52tu soon following your videos. Your channel is the holy Bible of e46 repairs 😂 please don't ever delete it 🙏👏
How to buy a used e90 = 💯🔥🔥🔥 pls do that im shopping for one right now! Steamer works a bit better than a heat gun but still gonna be a pain!

Your diy's are always awesome, but seeing all the bolt on upgrades you can do would be fun. Anyways, tnx for all the video's, my e46 is running great thanks to them.
I have a 335xi same year slightly better shape as all garage kept, I've done most all the maint except trans service and am using XDelete to make it a RWD only in the summer which has been great so far. I'mlooking to start some mods, charge pipe, bov, tune. I'd like to see you do all the maintenance stuff you mentioned plus a few others, then go through a bunch of the common upgrades I mentioned, and maybe if your into go full LCI conversion. There is a lot to do here glad you got one as your vids are great quality helped me a ton on my old E46 i just got rid of. The guy on the KZread channel Vehicular DIY has pretty much done it all and then some on the e90's too.
You nailed it ! Everyone considering buying a N54 335i must watch this video before. That is the perfect check technical list to perform. No I'm very curious about all the repair video you'll made create on this car. Keep it stock & all original. The power it delivers is more than enough. Thank you !
Happy to see your on the N54 ride. Been watching you with the e46 when I had one. Now I have a 335xi e92 with 205k with FBO running E85 with inlets for the past 3 years. You need to TUNE IT. It’s meant for it. Solid cars just need to care of them
Do an LCI conversion!!! And I’m surprised the chime doesn’t sound like the normal E90 chime…
DIY videos would be great but you should totally do videos on bolt on upgrades that would be bad A!! But we will always love and need the diy’s you help us so much!
Welcome to E90s. I have a 2008 335xi. Bought it just as you did, a project car. I had (and still do) Index9s. They are phenomenal cars, and are like LEGOS. So simple to work on, so long one knows what is doing. You are going to have fun. --
Don’t know what people would do without great videos you make 😉
Awesome content dude! Once it's caught up on all maintenance, you'll see how reliable they actually are. Had mine for 20k miles, no issues at all. Currently installing upgraded turbos in my garage on jacks 🤣
Videos about all the common maintenance & issues and how to fix them would be fantastic!
Funny thing about high mileage vehicles are, it's more likely the previous owners has done some of the maintenance works in order for it reach over 150K+

No...it's s bmw. He's prob gonna pull off 98% oem original parts. One thing I learned about bmw people when I became one was they like to cry their car is a pos while pulling original parts with 150k miles on them saying they are garbage...it's truly amazing
AYYYYYYY 50sKid is back 🙌🏻 and he has an N54 🙌🏻
Can't wait to see you fixing the common issues on those engines
Exited for this new series!
He's back, right on! Now I can expand my options to buy an E90. E46's with decent mileage are getting more difficult to find and prices are consistently rising. Just bring it and keep it stock, it's a BMW.
Those rubber mats look like the winter BMW mats and they are very nice and easy to clean. Have them on my E46 all year round.
Always learned a lot and enjoyed your E46 DIY videos, Think you could do the same thing for this engine/car to build up another great DIY resource.
Hey 50sKid, congratulations on your new ride!! I think this is the last DIYable Model BMW. All these new funky computers on wheels models are not for us oil-under-fingernails-guys. Anyway really looking forward to your videos! I’d suggest a maintenance series first then when everything is up and running, some mild mods. IMO such cars should to be daily drivable without having to jack them up for maintenance every weekend. BTW, are you keeping your e46? Greetings!
Transmission and differential fluid change diy. Restore the headlights. Maybe control arm or brake replacement? Does the car have a ccv system like the e46? Oh, also do a DISA valve inspection/fix on this too! Intake manifold removal guide, common removal items like your e46
@AlecKristi
3 жыл бұрын
CCV on this is different, and integrated into the cover. No DISA since it's turbo...
The roof rack trim is a common place for the clear coat to peel on many bmws when exposed to sunlight.
So much great content here. More for 335 series please
Super cool, excited to follow. Keep it classy, but maybe bigger turbos, injectors or some cool lights.
I’ve been watching you videos for years with my e46 but I bought a e90 about 2 years ago having similar small problems oil gasket, waste gate rattle those I can figure out but your videos are detailed my biggest thing is programming the injectors and high pressure fuel pump that’s what I’d like to learn in detail the software
My personal preference would be to restore it to close-to-ideal mechanical shape before considering any mods, but I'll be watching the videos either way.

Hello Jason, I used my wife’s portable garment steamer to remove my tint. It works great, the tint pretty much peeled off on its own. For your interior I used Mr. Clean original eraser and some warm water with Dawn dish washing soap. If It’s strong and delicate enough to remove oil from sea animals it’s good enough for your interior. Big Fan Al Navarro

I have those rubber mats (made by Weathertech, sold/branded by BMW) in my e46 and they're great. Now I just need to watch some more of your videos to get my e46 to pass CA smog ;) and I'll enjoy them again.

I bought the grey ones for my E46! I needed those so long ago, what with how many tips I make to the junkyard. Now I just have to find a rubber mat for the trunk -- unfortunately they stopped making the OEM one a while ago.
Steering wheel looks to just be dirty. The stereo amplifier is probably no good.. I repair electronic modules, amps, etc (and BMWs as well actually). If you need your amp fixed, let me know! I am local to you.
Great cars ! Bonnet looks a different shade i noticed it in the first video , not sure if its just the light although it looks too different to be the light or angle maybe Its been resprayed and it doesn’t quite match
God is good.. this is my #1 channel for e46 repairs.. I just got the e90 praying 50s kid had one to play with🍻😎🥰
There’s a N54 metal Crank Seal Plate that OZ works makes and so does VTT , can be bought on FCPEURO, this is to protect the belt from getting sucked in so if the belt snaps it won’t go through the crank seal and would love to see someone like yourself do a DIY ive seen some but not that In depth , also full mods after maintenance would be good content or wrapping the car in vinyl would be cool
Please make that buying video! I'm also a e46 owner who's been looking at 335s for awhile! Amazing stuff, thanks!
Maintained my E46 with your videos. Had to do my E90 maintenance without your videos. It was horrible! Looking forward to seeing your videos for this car. Can I suggest an F25 X3 as your next ride?
I want to see it all👌.. DIYs, mods, DIY tuning🍻😎
Lci full conversion 🤔 mild engine upgrades,OEM PLUS ! 👌🏻
Tint is super easy to get off with a clothing steamer. Peels right off, then the glue comes off pretty easy with a little more steam. The moisture keeps the glue soft and the razor takes it off pretty easily.
I don't have this kinda car but I guess these stuff as you said and then some modifications to hp side would be interesting for the ppl to watch, for some reason ;) The belt seem to have some wrisp on it boo btw. Nice video, thanks :)
I think you should definitely do the diys but tastefully picked mods would be nice. And big turbos is always a must do mod.
I want to see you make this car healthy again, enjoy it, then you do some mods for it. Best of both worlds, plus knowing your car is healthy then modding it, feels awsum
I've got experience working with the most bus stuff, it's super easy! Feel free to reach out if you need help. I work in the Bay a lot, I think I pass reasonably close to where you are occasionally. Also, recently peeled the tint off my rear glass on e92 and installed a shade. (Good diy/upgrade idea) Used goof off followed by alcohol wipes, worked like a charm.
I had the rear window regulator fail the day I bought the car, driving home on the highway I decided to test the windows and it then started raining hard lol! The rear trunk mat easily comes out as a piece, you can hose it down first, apply carpet cleaner, scrub and rinse and let dry in the sun
I think you can get car service history in bmw dealer. I got mine when I went for service action. I actually check that yours 335i has 1 open recall for your vehicle - Blower Motor Wiring So it's good occasion to check bmw service history :)
