Shen was a really interesting and swag character. What a shame, he got crushed by that dragon canoon. 😔

Biggest disappointment in this movie for me was that Po didn't meet his mother in the spirit world.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best in the franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. You cannot say that's not the most genius idea for a third installment of this franchise. One thing that people hate about this movie was the “disappointing” villain defeat. But I don’t think people exactly understand it. Po had the chi of all the pandas and his own chi. Kai usually takes the masters’ bodies along with the chi, but he didn’t when Po gave his chi to Kai. That’s why it was too much. He took the chi of a whole village pandas and a “Kung Fu Panda” at a time without their physical forms. It makes sense, people overthink it. Also, at the beginning, Oogway told Kai "The more you take, the less you have." Then what happens? Kai dies from taking too much. Also, Po was taught kung fu with food. Then he taught the village of pandas with their talents. The whole "turn you into you" thing wasn't a callback to the beginning of the movie, it was a callback to the beginning of the franchise. The first Kung Fu Panda. Most people like Shen the most, but General Kai is the best villain in my opinion. He may not have been intimidating, but he had really great villain lines. When Shifu said "Oogway, forgive me." Kai held up the chi of Oogway and said "What do you say, Oogway? Do you forgive him?" Also, his music was obviously the best villain music in existence. Not to mention his weapon, fight style, or entrances. Also, the first two villains were chased by Po and the Furious Five. But Kai would find Po no matter where he went. Po even said “There’s nowhere to run.” Kai felt very unstoppable, which was kind of intimidating. Another thing I like about Kai is that he was the only villain that never underestimated Po. When Tai Lung met Po and found out he’s the Dragon Warrior, he said “You? Him? He’s a panda. You’re a panda. What are you going to do, big guy? Sit on me?” When Lord Shen met Po, he asked Soothsayer “Do you actually believe this is the warrior destined to defeat me?” But when General Kai met Po, he said “You must be the Dragon Warrior.” I don't even need to talk about comedy, action, or animation in this movie. Everyone already agrees that comedy, action, and animation in Kung Fu Panda 3 is better than in first two movies. A lot of people complain that the Furious Five didn't do much but I think I need to remind people that this movie is in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Not "The Adventures of the Furious Five" franchise. I was happy seeing the Furious Five get a lot of spotlight it Kung Fu Panda 2, the movie wouldn’t be half as great without that. But I am extremely happy that they didn’t do the same thing for Kung Fu Panda 3. But I don't get how people think this is the worst or second best in the franchise. I think it's better than Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 combined.

For clarification, when Oogway says he banished him to the spirit realm, it’s not just cuz it’s a kids movie and they wanted to sensor things. It’s cuz the spirit realm doesn’t work in the way that we typically think the afterlife does like heaven, hell or purgatory. This is proven by the fact that Kai was able to return to the mortal realm, and so was Po. If the spirit realm was the final destination then that means that no one would be able to come back, they’re gone for good. Not to mention that at the end of the movie Po used all of his Chi to eradicate Kai, permanently ending his life. So the spirit realm works in the sense that if someone is sent there then they’re not necessarily dead per say. That is why Kai wasn’t killed, he was banished. Side note: Oogway also willingly journeys to the spirit realm at the end of the first movie. He didn’t die, he wasn’t dying, and he was in perfect condition. But he recognized that his time was over and that he was no longer needed. Not to mention that he understood Shifu’s pains and self turmoil and could see the future. He knew that if he stayed then he would be the one to end Tai Lung, not Shifu. Therefore cementing Shifu’s future of being a miserable, impatient, and mentally unstable person, which would also cause Po to never be trained as the dragon warrior. So in a sense the spirit realm is like a world between worlds, like a mixture between heaven and purgatory. It is a place that old ones or young ones can venture to at anytime even if they’re not close to death, and it is also not the final destination in the afterlife. Proved by the fact that Kai was killed in the end of the movie and isn’t immortal. Also, one last thing, at the end of the movie Oogway even says to Po that he needs to choose whether he wants to go or stay. FURTHER cementing that this spirit realm is not like the typical afterlife that we know of.

@Kryptoskillet the_II quite the contrary actually. The movies are not specifically described as kids movies. Yes they’re directed at kids, but they’re not specifically kids movies. Also everything I just said isn’t a random crazy cinematic conspiracy. It is a very much approved understanding that dreamworks themselves has never denied. I understand that children should be taught about death and it’s inevitability. But the examples that we see in this movie series are not examples of death, supported by the actual Chinese mythology and what I just previously stated.

Po discovers that everything was all a dream, the goose never was his dad, but since he is an overworked waiter and his boss is a good father figure he imagined he was his dad and the only escape he has is watching kung fu movies in an upstairs room his boss made available since he lacks the income to rent an apartment on his own.

There are many reasons why I like Kung Fu Panda 3 more than other people do. Let me start by saying that I watched the movie before the trailer. For some reason, DreamWorks decided to spoil the conclusion of the movie in the trailer, along with many other things from the movie. So people might think I’m a little biased on this, but in my opinion, Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best in the franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. Which was the perfect idea for the third installment of this franchise. One thing that people hate about this movie was the “disappointing” villain defeat. But I don’t think people exactly understand it. Po didn’t actually “give” Kai his chi. He used his chi as a weapon just like Kai did. He wasn’t actually trying to overload him with power, Po was just using the power to kill him. Po had the chi of all the pandas and his own chi to fight with. Kai usually takes the masters’ bodies along with the chi and carries them around as amulets, but he didn’t when Po “gave” his chi to Kai. That’s why it was too much. If he just used a tiny bit of the chi to attack Kai, Kai would’ve been able to harness that chi and use it for power. Which makes the line “The more you take, the less you have.” more meaningful. But what I love the most about the villain defeat, is that Kai spent over 500 years just trying to be the most powerful warrior ever just to lose by a landslide. When he was up against Po’s true Dragon Warrior form, he got absolutely obliterated by true power. Po showed Kai that he only had a fraction of the power that Po had after Kai beat so many warriors just to get people to know his name. Which is what makes the line “I am the Dragon Warrior.” so dang good! Another thing I love about this movie is the panda village and Po’s lack of training. Po needs to train to face the most powerful villain yet. Li Shan told him that he could journey to the panda village with the other pandas that survived Lord Shen’s attack to learn chi. Li convinced Po that pandas knew chi and could teach him by helping him understand who he is. But he got no real training and still had a deadly monster coming his way. People also say that Ping was out of character in the movie because of his jealousy. But this is incorrect for 2 reasons. First, he acted the same way in the Kung Fu Panda holiday special. Second, he barely got any screen time throughout the first 2 movies, so nobody really knew what could be considered in or out of character. Throughout the movie, they show the panda village and Po having a great time. Which makes the audience forget about the whole learning chi thing, by making him get to do all the regular panda activities with his kind. But they brought up chi every once in a while to give everyone a taste of concern for Po since he still had no experience with chi. And when they got the message that Kai was coming, he learned that there was no way for him to master chi because nobody else knew it. This was the moment that it felt the most hopeless in the trilogy. He had nothing left except for a village of pandas. But as he starts to truly become the Dragon Warrior, he makes the most out of it. He trains the village to fight and defend themselves from the masters. Which was just like watching Po train in the first movie, but 10 times better. Most people like Shen the most, but General Kai is the best villain in my opinion. He may not have been intimidating, but he had really great villain lines. When Shifu said "Oogway, forgive me." Kai held up the chi amulet of Oogway and said "What do you say, Oogway? Do you forgive him?" Also, his music was obviously the best villain music in existence. Not to mention his weapon, fight style, or entrances. Also, the first two villains were chased by Po and the Furious Five. But Kai was the only villain who did the chasing. Instead of Po hunting him down, Kai would find Po and the others no matter where they ran. Po even said “There’s nowhere to run.” This made Kai felt very unstoppable, which was just as good as being intimidating. Tai Lung and Lord Shen are both villains that people feel bad for, but Kai is just a really terrible person. They made Kai very unique. It was refreshing to see a super powerful villain that everyone wanted to see get destroyed. Most people know that Kung Fu Panda 1, 2, and 3 have the themes of body, mind, and spirit. But there’s more to it than that. In Kung Fu Panda, Tai Lung hurt hurt the characters’ bodies by beating them. In Kung Fu Panda 2, Lord Shen hurt hurt Po’s mind by killing his mother when Po was a baby. In Kung Fu Panda 3, General Kai hurt hurt the characters’ spirits by defeating Oogway, enslaving most of the characters, and destroying the jade palace. I don't even need to talk about comedy or animation in this movie. Nearly everyone already agrees that comedy, and animation in Kung Fu Panda 3 is better than in first two movies. The music in Kung Fu Panda 3 is easily the best. It has Kai’s theme, and the final battle music is so much better than the music from the other movies. Also, the action is amazing! The scene of Kai beating Tigress, Shifu, Monkey, and Viper had perfect fight choreography. A lot of people don’t like that the Furious Five didn't do much but I think I need to remind people that this movie is in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Not "The Furious Five" franchise. I was happy seeing the Furious Five get a lot of spotlight in Kung Fu Panda 2, the movie wouldn’t be half as great without that. But I am extremely happy that they didn’t do the same thing for Kung Fu Panda 3. Because in Kung Fu Panda, first Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Viper, and Mantis were defeated, then Shifu was defeated. In Kung Fu Panda 2 they fought alongside Po. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Po had to fight Shifu and all the other masters except Tigress. I don't get how people think this is the worst or second best in the franchise. I think it's better than Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 combined.

@@KFP_Fanboy Kung fu panda 3 sucks in my opinion. Po attitudes and personality don't change at all after he found Inner peace, i was expecting more badass scenes from him. The only memorable characters are the bird, po and the other little green guy, every character besides these sucks. The pandas are boring characters who suddently manage to defeat legendary fucking warriors who trained their whole life to battles like this. Kai has lazy character development and the movie itself don't take him serious. In the end the pandas use the power of chi(friendship) to defeat the villain in a boring battle explaining AGAIN that po is the dragon warrior and he is invencible and bla bla bla. The movie wants to make dramatic scenes with things that aren't that bad, like when po father tell him that he don't know how to use chi. And suddently in the end they use chi in the right moment and in the right time when the story needed. The fact that the master keeps hiding po important information(chi) after all these years just don't make sense, the guy saved the world two times and the master still thinks his a child. When po asks oogway about how to get back to the real world, oogway tells him that there's probaly some way but he never tried, WHAT THE FUCK? THE BIRD ALMOST DOMINATE THE WORLD IN THE SECOND MOVIE AND OOGWAY NEVER TRIED TO GET BACK? KAI ALMOST KILLED ALL THE PANDAS AND OOGWAY NEVER TRIED TO GET BACK? EVERYONE ALMOST DIED IN THE FIRST MOVIE AND HE NEVER TRIED TO GET BACK? WHAT? I literally hate this movie, but it's just my opinion of course.

Himawari Uzumaki Shifu means "master" in Chinese. He is Master Master, which would only make sense if he was Oogway, the actual master of the other masters.

A missed sin is that Po is specifically told by Lord Shen and pretty much everyone else in the second film that he is the last panda and the rest were killed, yet Po is not in the least bit surprised when any panda, let alone his dad, shows up.

In the fight when kai comes to the jade palace we get a scene where he turns viper into chi you can see tai lungs chi for a few seconds. So tai lung was in the sprit world ALIVE he was never dead. The wuxi finger only worked on mortals. Tai lung was a mortal so he sent him to the spirit world ALIVE. Too bad we couldn't see tai lung and kai fight. It would have been EPIC.

@@epicfan1598 chi is universal energy. Enough if it can send you back into the mortal realm (since you're not dead). Oogway for example could've returned a long time ago though he simply remains in the spirit realm as a 'retirement' option. If he were to still be in the normal realm then all that stuff with Tia lung and shen would never have happened. Oogway sacrificed himself so his successor could go on. So basically, the spirit realm is more of a temporary placement whereas if you're dead, you're dead.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best, Kung Fu Panda 2 is second best, and Kung Fu Panda is third best in the franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. You cannot say that's not the most genius idea for a third installment of this a franchise. One thing that people hate about this movie was the “disappointing” villain defeat. But I don’t think people exactly understand it. Po had the chi of all the pandas and his own chi. Kai usually takes the masters’ bodies along with the chi, but he didn’t when Po gave his chi to Kai. That’s why it was too much. He took the chi of a whole village pandas and a “Kung Fu Panda” at a time without their physical forms. It makes sense, people overthink it. Also, at the beginning, Oogway told Kai "The more you take, the less you have." Then what happens? Kai dies from taking too much. Also, Po was taught kung fu with food. Then he taught the village of pandas with their talents. The whole "turn you into you" thing wasn't a callback to the beginning of the movie, it was a callback to the beginning of the franchise. The first Kung Fu Panda. Most people like Shen the most, but Kai is the best villain in my opinion. He may not have been intimidating, but he had really great villain lines. When Shifu said "Oogway, forgive me." Kai held up the chi of Oogway and said "What do you say, Oogway? Do you forgive him?" That made me mad in theaters. That one line made me prefer Po destroying him in the Spirit Realm over a big fist fight. Also, his music was obviously the best villain music in existence. Not to mention his weapon, fight style, or entrances. Also, the first two villains were chased by Po and the Furious Five. But Kai would find Po no matter where he went. Po even said “There’s nowhere to run.” Kai felt very unstoppable, which was kind of intimidating. Lord Shen and Tai Lung did not give that same vibe even though they’re more intimidating. I don't even need to talk about comedy, action, or animation in this movie. Everyone already agrees that comedy, action, and animation in Kung Fu Panda 3 is better than in first two movies. A lot of people complain that the Furious Five didn't do much but I think I need to remind people that this movie is in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Not "The Adventures of the Furious Five" franchise. I was happy seeing the Furious Five get a lot of spotlight it Kung Fu Panda 2, the movie wouldn’t be half as great without that. But I am extremely happy that they didn’t do the same thing for Kung Fu Panda 3. But I don't get how people think this is the worst or second best in the franchise. I think it's better than Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 combined.

For the part where there was only Shifu and Tigress, Shifu could have just gone to the Panda village with Tigress instead of lying there and getting his chi stolen while watching the jade palace and the Oogway statue get destroyed.

I love the artstyle switches though, they add a lot to it in my opinion, especially when Po does that "mastered chi" thing at the beginning of the final fight between him and Kai. The artstyle is just amazing to me.

Forgot to sin the fact that Oogway and the pandas made trees blossom on two separate flashbacks, but in the first movie Oogway told Chifu that no one can control when the peach tree blossoms (as part of his lesson on control).

Like 65% of the stuff in this video were things I was saying to myself after watching the movie. This movie did have a shit ton of problems, but I still love it!

Why did Kai never use Oogway as a jade zombie to fight for him? What is stopping Kai from simply going back to the mortal realm after Po took him there? Why didn't they find Ty Long in the spirit realm? Po obviously sent him there using the same technique in the first movie. Did Kai never find him there? And notice how they always made the same movie again and again? Po is suddenly reduced to an idiot, all of his accomplishments are nullified, some old evil returns, Po gets his ass kicked, learns some bullshit life lesson along the way and suddenly pulls some power out his ass to defeat an otherwise completely overpowered enemy.

1. When Po doesn’t know how / what to teach the 5, why doesn’t he teach them Inner Peace? Unless they already know it? 2. Why is this film still about Po questioning who he is, when he found out in the previous film?

Yeah, I hated the second point in this movie. KFP2: “I am Po.” KFP3: “I don’t even know who I am.” 🗿

I tried so hard to make sense this movie's ending. But it just makes no sense! I swear the ending seemed more like fan fiction.

This movie felt rushed and everything was too fast paced to even absorb the movie's laws and plot. I'm not surprised if anybody else finds this movie confusing as well.

MinifigureXtreme try watching it again, it’ll be easier to understand. Po nearly got defeated in the spirit realm but with everyone’s chi, he became powerful and overtook Kai. At the end, he infuses Kai with so much chi that kills him, calling back to Oogway’s saying “the more you take, the less you have”

i don't think there's anything called death in the kung fu panda universe, if Ogway has the ability to RESPAWN himself back to the physical world

Uzumaki Naruto I think Shen died though. And all the other pandas. Cause remember how Oogway let the flower petals take you and tai lung got wushi'd? I think that's why they didn't die. So Shen definitely died.

Another sin: As someone who is in the Jade Palace regularly and once idolized the artifacts, Po should not be okay with trashing those artifacts and using them as toys and should honestly be getting ripped into by EVERYONE.

You should’ve added a James Hong “this really pisses me off to no end” in the outtakes

a sin should be that inner peace from the previous movie is now irrelevant and will never be seen again.

I actually really enjoyed the second movie, and this one let me down tremendously.

I think they capitalized too much on the amazing to flow the rest of the story. like they connected dots meet dad, learn something shi fun doesn't know,see ooguway. hear ooguway actually sound worried (beginning). All those moments to me are great just the rest of the movie should have been a movie.

there were some parts that I thought were weird, ( especially when Po asked about Chi, I feel like they could have done that better) and the teaser at the end of the second movie doesn't exactly make sense (where is that scene at in the town?) especially when seeing how the pandas are. (or at least to me)

Rip Witch The Chi was one of the worst parts of the movie, tbh. KFP has done the whole "believe in yourself" trope before, but they at least executed it well in the first two films. Plus, Kai is a weak villain (which should not be the case with JK Simmons voicing). I never saw him as a serious threat, ESPECIALLY when a village of unathletic pandas are able to actually put up a fight. It's actually pretty shocking, because Tai Lung and Lord Shen were great villains.

iCoNiC-Gaming Yah, and considering that it seemed that most of the Furious Five were defeated because plot (especially Crane and Mantis). Like I thought Kai's motivation was understandable and realistic, but they didn't put him as much of a threat other than he destroyed the Jade Palace in one hit (maybe it could have been fixed if he only took Chi if he defeats them? It just seemed he did it when they couldn't get out of a move or vulnerable). Also fun facts, Kai's original design had him with 4 arms; and Kai had a Chi amulet that looked like Tai Lung.

It was awkward for me to watch the movie and this video because my name is Kai lol

Kinda sad he didn't take a sin off for when Kai shows you at the temple. The soundtrack plus the whooshing of Kai's blades were one of the best villain entrances I've seen in a long tims
