The crewniverse is amazing a setting things up. It sets up lots of worldbuilding details, character backstories, arcs, plots in such a subtle, incredible way. Now following up with them is a whole 'nother story...

My headcanon is that gem production uses both the nutrients in the ground but also needs the diamond's essences (sweat/tears/spit) in order to grow. Similar to a seed, the diamond essence gives them their "initial genetic predisposition" while the ground gives them the capability to reach their full physical potential when emerging. Amethyst was the last gem of the Alpha kindergarten, came out so late she missed the war entirely. And I think it's because Pink got so bored at the end of her sweat extraction sessions that she put hardly any of her willpower into it. In contrast, the beta kindergarten was created to combat the Crystal Gem rebellion. Pink Diamond might have accidentally put her desire to protect Earth in an extraction session that resulted in a strong Jasper. Jasper has a strong bond with the Earth, so much so that her hatred for Rose is tied to what happened to the failed colony on Earth.

Jasper does know they are there at the beginning of the next episode

Legitimately hate how now of this episode is just a series of jokes at the barn. Yeah, they're funny, but it sacrifices time we could've used to further elaborate on the Beta Kindergarten.

I always thought it was funny that Peridot licked a rock for no reason

Honestly I know I'm late to this, but good on this dude for fixing the stuff he needed to, and turning his life around, for people like this to have the rare chance of them changing and growing from bad things they did and prospering in the future, it's good to see, good on you dude and keep moving forward

I still don't understand the lesson they were trying to teach amethyst about being against jasper on her own, I mean sadly, jasper is right, amethyst is not as strong as her so she can't beat her, why does she keep trying harder when the real truth is just right in her face?, sounds toxic but that's just how I see it, I'll be glad if someone gives me a deeper explanation on this.

amethyst isn't right about trying to best jasper on her own, that's the point, she's blinded by envy and refuses to accept that she's outmatched. amethyst needs to learn that comparing herself to someone differently abled than her is the wrong thing to do and that there's no fault in being born different. the point of taking her here was to make her feel better but it backfired because jasper came out "perfect". the point is that it doesn't matter if someone is physically perfect or not because what does matter, as we see in the next ep, is having a good heart and being able to support one another. if you read it as a tale of disability, this is basically saying that someone disabled (amethyst) by comparing herself to someone abled (jasper) will just make her miserable because the reality is they're differently abled. the point is that it doesn't matter because amethyst is till the better person, jasper for all her perfection is still a ruthless and solitary person so she depends entirely on herself which is the problem, amethyst has a support system that can assist her in whatever she struggles with and that's why she's truly stronger. she's not isolating herself like jasper and thus has the stronger heart and the aid she needs to overcome any challenge.
