Our team got so many issues starting with the top of the organisation, they won't make a big trade, Kerr won't play the young guys when we absolutely need them, Klay wont come off the bench and nobody will call him out from the big three, it's such a pathetic way to go out

They have no choice shouldn’t kept dray and might deal Klay out of there. It’s another superstar with curry or bust. He has enough time to maximize that Chip window they need to bring him tools. It’s not the strength in numbers culture anymore. Drays punch, Pooles attitude, and Meyers exit collapse that foundation….

Kevin Durant really is backpacking the Suns right now. Dude is balling, he's averaging 31pts, on 52% FG and 50% from 3pt which still amazes me even tho he was apart of the 50-40-90 club last season. Book is also putting up good numbers on good efficiency (27pts on 48-42-92 shooting splits). But getting them all to play together is always going to be the issue

FIBA is somewhat a minor turning point for this season. Steve Kerr gets exposed to the style he plays now in a different roster. Hali and Ant are playing at a great level now. And players like the Wagner brothers are doing well in Orlando too. It's prolly a reach but I think that tournament just gave us some things to the ones we see now.

My takeaway re; in-season tournament: I'm all for it too, BUT I feel there's a missed opportunity tho: i feel like after group stage (knockout phase), West and East should've met already. Now it's ONLY in finals, like NBA play-offs, so it kinda feels like a condensed version of the play-offs, instead of something entirely new. 🤷‍♂️

You’re not wrong in general, but this year is kind of an anomaly in that the warriors have played the thunder 4 times before the end of 2023 because of the in season tournament scheduling. So while they DO have the warriors number (they be cooking them), it’s all coinciding with the warriors early season struggles and the thunders early season successes. I’ll be interested to see how things evolve and if those things hold

I think the Sac vs GS series last year showed a little about what was going to happen within the next couple years, the fall of the warriors. Unfortunately small ball doesn’t work now (we saw that in the FIBA cup) and Kerr doesn’t want to work with a center under 6’7. Additionally, Klays contract is holding the team down, he should’ve been let go since last season he’s not a 2nd option on any team any more

@@DonitasMan true, this lines up well with what happened... Warriors rise happened while star big men were decliing (e.g Duncan, Howard, Garnett).or on bad teams like AD in New Orleans. Their small lineup also was why LBJ put up videogame stats against them but hes always struggled more vs tall teams like 2011 Mavs After KD left the Warriors got a break in 2022 since big teams like LAL Milwaukee and Denver were missing key ppl. Lebron and AD teamed up knowing they perfectly matchup vs Warriors. The 2023 Lakers Warriors series reflected that harsh reality. Fast forward to 2024 and Lebron is bounced by the tall Denver twice in a row and Warriors porous defense makes them a play-in team.

Regarding the Warriors - it's been evident for the last year and a half at least, that they have the solution on their bench - Thompson and Wiggins must move to the bench, and Kuminga & Moody to the starting lineup. This will inject the new blood and energy they need alongside Curry, and will make their bench one of the best in the NBA. They have a lot of great young talent, but they're insisting on relying on the veteran guys.

To make the in the season tournament more interesting what do you think about shuffle east and west teams (instead of having only east vs east or west vs west team until the final) to make it more unique and have match up that we would never have in the play off in hundreds years

@@dionbomers1312 Forgive me - I often speak in the hope many of the factors to consider have been... USA is essentially a continent. It covers two, sometimes (always?) three timezones - Eastern, Pacific (and Central Mountain?). How would this system handle that? If you've never noticed, most early games (with occasional exceptions) are in the EAST - specially Florida/NY/PHI/WAS. With later games coming from DEN and California. There is a viewing/attending audience to consider. I'd prefer MORE regional based competitions. This would help build rivalries. Which is why the divisions are as currently constituted (with some exceptions).

@@dionbomers1312 And the "ungrateful" really only is to the last point. And even, only sarcastically. It's not like the years we repeatedly got GSW vs CLE. Might have only been one game, but it has been ages since IND faced LAL with something to play for. So there is AT LEAST that. Which makes it "unique". LAL facing MIA would've been less unique as they played in the Finals in 2020

I think the issue with KD's big teams is that he's acting "like a moth": he wants to win so bad, he goes where things seem to be heating up, but he gets there too late for that. Most players are exhausted - and trading for him is always too expensive, so they don't get a deep team to rest during the year. Teams need to be built in time; trading so much for one single guy will never lead to anything... He should do the opposite: instead of trades, he should wait for a contract to end. That way he'd definitely end in a winning context.

I actually love this. Just watched the Pelicans blow out the Warriors by like 35 points the other night. It's good that comfortable teams can be reminded that they shouldn't ever get comfortable, in fact. Self-fulfilling competition - bad teams can find a way to not be bad anymore, because good teams find a way to suck.
