Beautiful pieces. Your fabrics choices make for a very cohesive wardrobe. I really love the Wilder gown - a combination of the fabric and dress silhouette works really well - a charming dress. I also love your quilted coat and jeans too!

I think you did a wonderful job on all your projects. I want to make this year the year that I learn to sew. Did a little in Home Economics at high school in the 1980's (any Queenslanders from that vintage will probably relate 😆) but not anything since. I look forward to seeing your creations this year.

Thank you for sharing your makes, I am enchanted with your video and everything you’ve made. You are a breath of fresh air, your talent at sewing and the way you describe each garment is very professional yet fun and entertaining. I am very impressed by the variety of pattern sources, your choices are an example of versatility, well suited for the young generation. I am a long time sewer with 50 years experience in making my own wardrobe and sewing for my kids and gifts for friends. I used Burda patterns mainly, which is all I had in my country, and still having the subscription to date. You remind me of my beginning, but I’m totally humbled by your early and well rounded talent. I hope you will continue your journey and keep inspiring others in this sustainable living practice, and I am glad you mention that in the beginning of your video. Lastly I want to wish you an enjoyable and rewarding career in this field! ❤

One last comment. I love the Color Me Beautiful summer season colors and made lined wool skirts, pants, dresses, and blazers in those colors. Then I had my colors done and realized I was a winter, and the winter colors made my skin look SO much better! Your clothes are beautiful and have colors from all the seasons. For inspiration, check out Tomcat Stitchery who does a good job of explaining colors and designing wardrobes using her season’s colors. You won’t believe the difference it makes. Happy sewing!

Your makes looks so professional, great job! This is my first time, watching one of your videos, and I’m very impressed with the feedback you’re giving and the choice of fabric with the pattern. Just a suggestion on your Channing pants, could you make them into shorts? They’re really cute and might actually work for summertime with a cute tank top.

Beautiful makes! I love the leggings, Zadie and coat. I have made a Zadie and am making a second now. My favorite make is a recent Dixie dress from the dressmaker’s closet in a plum needle cord. I also try to make one garment a month and I made 25 last year. This year I want to make one garment every two weeks. 😊

Thanks for sharing all your beautiful makes! This is the first time I watch your channel and I’m very impressed by your sewing skills, your very well curated garment choices and above all your presentation! It’s a joy listening to you, so clear and well spoken, never a dull moment and I really like that you look into the camera. So many youtubers look into the view finder which makes one loose connection sort of. I’m from Sweden and really appreciate your clear presentation, and also that you make things for about the same climate as me. My plans for the spring is to make at least one more York pinafore from Helen’s Closet, I love that style! I also want to make a quilted coat similar to your Hovea coat, but I want a type ”mandarine” collar and snap button closure on mine, so not really sure What pattern to choose. I started to subscribe to your channel and look forward to seeing your next video!

Hi Eva, thank you so much for your kind comment! :) I definitely try my best to speak clearly and make sure my filming setup is high-quality, so I'm really glad you enjoy that! I haven't made a york pinafore yet, but I know that pattern is a favourite for many people! Enjoy making your quilted coat, unfortunately I haven't seen a pattern like that yet either, maybe you can mix two patterns you like to get the look you want.

@@MadeByMelm Yes, I think I will try to mix patterns for my coat, or draft the collar myself. It’s not that difficult I think, making a toile or mockup for sure. Forgot to mention that I really appreciate that you make mockups before you make the final garment, that is how I go about things too. The York pinafore wouldn’t have fitted so well if I hadn’t. Another thing I appreciate with your videos is that you show lots of different ways to style your sewn garment, it’s so inspiring!

You slayed that jeans pattern! Great job!! I don’t think the Seamwork pants look like pajamas on you 😂 but I don’t think you needed to size down as much. The pleats pull and the thighs look too snug to my eye. You have a great shape for pleated trousers so if you made them in something with a bit more drape, I think they’d be fabulous on you! Enjoyed your video! 😊

Great job, love them all. I too just cut the quilted coat, same pattern. I cut a size 8 but really am thinking I should take it down to a six. I tried to find your video to see if you talked about that, what did you do, true to size ? Thanks, you have inspired me, I really have not sewn my own clothes, I have sewn everything else you can imagine, just not clothes, they never fit right when I try

Hi Debbie, thank you firstly for watching and your nice comment! For the Hovea coat, I cut a size 10, but my body measurements correspond best to a size 6. So I sewed two sizes up. I like to wear chunky sweaters underneath and I have broad shoulders, so I enjoy the oversized look and find it comfy. But I think you could definitely sew your usual size for a fit that looks more like the pattern envelope. I hope this helps! Good luck on your garment-sewing journey! :)
