49:02 I love how they kept the Uncharted irony of "villains being undone by what they've sought after" but just slightly tweaked it. Before it was thanks to some borderline paranormal stuff, the virus in the coffin, the hallucinogen etc... Here it's straight forward. You want the treasure? Have the treasure. Crushed by the very gold he sought, beatiful.

I bought this game with the ps4 in 2017. I played the game (and finished it) 24 times with the first 4 runs being me and my brother taking turns with the other watching and commentating and still having a blast. we ended up getting the plat trophy on our 25th time. And the last time we played it was new years eve of 2018. five years later and I found myself playing with my brother the whole uncharted series with each guy playing his two personal favorites. Yet we both couldnt but share uncharted 4 on new years eve because of the many memories we got from the game. From my opinion, 10/10 game.

It's worth noting that, when this game came was in development, copper was regularly in the news as a common target for theft, the price spiked, so brand new homes were being stripped in the dead of night, sometimes just hours after the electricians and plumbers had finished the job; multi-ton spools of cable (like those depicted) were being stolen off of industrial yards and factory sites... It's pretty akin to piracy on the high seas, and; I felt; was to punctuate the juxtaposition of his mundane life with his addiction to the thrill of treasure hunting... same thing, different stakes which they double down on with the pong gun later EDIT: right now, copper is nearly $10k a ton. presuming the whole cargo was copper spools like those, each worth around $800-1500, it could clear near $1 million+ total... that's not chump change...

Absolutely phenomenal game. Even to this day, the animations and motion capture, in conjunction with the superb acting from Nolan, Emily, Richard, Troy, etc, stun me to my core. Considering this was released 8 YEARS AGO and very few games have matched this level of detail and quality in that time, it's truly a technical masterpiece of a game. Plus that score from Henry Jackman...*chef's kiss*. Fun fact; Cassie was played by Kaitlyn Dever, who happens to be playing a certain character with a signature braid and a love of golf in The Last of Us season 2 👀

Because yeah, it's obvious she was probably going to win. She's an actual mercenary and leader of a military crew. She's going to fight better than the guy who has mostly improvised his way through fights. Also, no clue who Jim Jones is. Never heard of him till this video. When i finished the third game, i HAD to get the final one, so i begged my bro, and he then got it for me. And well, it really was a beautiful journey. It was a pleasent surprise going back to this game after watching this video, cause I played it REALLY young so I never picked up on the symbolic stuff involving Sam and how he affected Nate; looking at it through the lense of a man obsessed with having it all and being stuck between his family and his obsession is a compelling story that keeps my focus. I felt for Elena through the game, while understanding where nearly everyone in this game came from; they're all realistic people stuck in a put upon situation that makes it hard to really say anyone here isn't well-written. This game really is a good one.

18:00 I think the meaning behind Nate unzipping his jacket after Sam zipped it is simply from "little brother rebellious nature" after Sam kind of babied him the same way a mom would annoyingly tell her kid to eat their vegetables because "she knows what's best for them", making the kid want to eat them even less because their mom told them to.

Man… I remember just before this came out in 2016, I bought the Nathan Drake collection and played through all 1-3 uncharted games back to back before I played 4. A couple of years later in 2018 I played through it again, and then once more when I got my ps4 pro during covid in 2020. I just can’t stay away from this game. It came out in 2016 but it still looks, feels and plays the best out of most games, even from 2020 onwards. I got a Ps5 last year, and I literally just redownloaded this game for the 4th time a couple of weeks ago. This time I am going for the platinum. I completed it on crushing a few days ago and now I’m picking up all of the other trophies. I’ve almost got it lol. This game is a masterpiece. Only TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Spiderman and God of War comes close in terms of visuals, story, setting and gameplay in recent years. Every other game developer needs to step up their game, literally.

Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End is one of the best games Ive ever played. I didnt fully apprreciate it when if first came out, I was 26. Still in my head wrapped up in my past, which like Nate wasn't the cleaneset. But then I got married, then this game opened my eyes. Elina and Nates relationship... hits me so hard. Mirrors my own with my spouse. Ive messed up a lot in our relationship. NO I never found a lost city and shit... but yeah that same idea of not being honest and lying to protect yourself. Each time I play it to reminds me of how to try and fix things and not give up. To talk and be honest eith the one you love the most.

I remember playing this for the first time back in 2017. I had just turned thirteen and my parents had finally started letting me get more "mature" video games (they had a thing about killing actual people in video games) and this was one of my first. I knew of the series by reputation, but this was my entry into it and while some of the references went over my head, I still enjoyed it a lot. I remember spending hours replaying the Madagascar chase over and over because it was just so much fun. This video was really good, but I'm curious - Do you plan to do a video on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as well? Again, just out of curiosity since you didn't mention it. It's fine if you don't, I just think that game in general is fairly under-appreciated due to it being a spin-off.

Please do Lost Legacy, I absolutely love Chloe as a character and to her and Nadine team up was amazing.

something to note: Nate wasn’t actually in his 40s during UC4, he was only 37 i think, just 2-3 years after UC3 surprisingly

To me, the fact that Sam's Alcazar flashback is a playable level where you have the ability to die is a massive clue that it's all BS.

4:12 Nate's comment right there is exactly what Sully said to both of them at the end of the 1st Uncharted.

Loved this!!! I also see you do Resident Evil content so I have a request, PLEASE DO RESIDENT EVIL 5!!! 😂 I know the game has a bad reputation but it's genuinely great once you take the time to play it and understand the story. I see you analyze the relationship between Nate and Elena a lot here too, which will also be possible with Chris and Jill in a Gaming Wins for RE5. Just a suggestion, RE5 is a great game and will definitely have a lot of wins 💯

Don’t know how or is it possible but I really want to see your take on the persona series (at least 3-5), seeing how it is slowly becoming what people expect from modern day jrpgs.

A big win for me not all people Will agree. The way that all the voice acting can be changed per language. For me i started watching uncharted 2 & 3 on youtube and the voice acting was in my own language so when i played uncharted 4 myself i played it in dutch because Nate always had that voice for me.
