His wife functions are his conscience like that. So him saying he is sorry [to her] means it is a genuine feeling of remorse for him. He is sorry for how he acted because he knows it was not the "right thing" to do. So his apology is to all parties involved. In a just world, those pimps would have been taken care of by the right autorities or never had to end up in that place at all but had become rule abiding citizens. :)

I watched this movie in cinema with my mom, my dad and my sister and directly afterwards we had to go to the hardware store to buy something. The entire time we were in the store we would pick up random things and hold it out to each other and nod in acknowledgment that "Yes, that's a good weapon," and "Ohhhh, that's a good one," and "Ouch, that one would hurt so much," and "This is actually heavier than you think," while my mom frowns at us because she wasn't impressed by the brutality of the movie.

Because I haven't seen anyone mention it in the comments, (and yes I know I'm late) That nail gun is a RamSet. Yes it uses a .22 blank to drive the nail and depending on the charge can simply drive into a 4x4 or drive a fastener several inches into concrete. So yeah, it has more than enough power to do what is shown in the movie.

I was like that before retail and it was a blessing to organize the back room every now and again. It did irritate me that everyone else was so lazy that we had issues using the machines to properly log product and nearly everyone wanted me to work in their department, expecially bakery since people seemed to avoid doing thing right like it was the plague since EVERY product was stored away in a freezer and I was the only one, who wasn't a department manager, that didn't mind being cooped up in the freezing cold for a few minutes to get things done right. Though they ussually tried to have me working in the meat department since they wanted the female associates working bakery because the boxes were much lighter and most newer female associates in the section worked either produce, bakery, or deli with only a very rare few ever volunteering for lifting 50lb cases of meat for 8 hours with next to no help because there was ussually only 2 people in the meat department.

If anyone's interested as mentioned in his video, Yes Honey is useable for sealing up a wound, as it hardens it acts as a scab basically, the ancient Egyptians did this to help the healing prosses. Note, only do this as a last resort, 1st treat the wound with a clean cloth dabbed with alcohol then apply thin layers of honey, leave until dry, works like a charm. So long as the injured person dose not overly move affecting the honeys placement. Doing this gives the body time to form a proper scab over the wound, stop the bleeding and infections. Not as good as cleaning the wound and applying a band-Aid or the like as they now a days come with a built in cream that helps the healing prosses.

2:45 That is what makes Equalizer great in a nutshell for me. He's a gray-man, not a tacticool superhero that has to announce his presence everytime he's on a job. Just nonchalantly infil, get the job done, then exfil. Stealth isn't about sneaking around in a ninja suit all the time, sometimes, it's just walking up to the front door and be convincing. The genuine development of playing a character while playing a character. Washington definitely nailed that aspect.

I recently was diagnosed with OCD as I'm extremely insecure about how I smell and take two many showers and use deodorant so many times I've given myself chemical burns because I don't wanna be musty and I don't like sweating. The nailgun he's using in the end scene is a variant of a Ramset nail driver. They're designed for setting nails deep through 2x4s into concrete foundations. They use a blank .22 cartridge to fire a piston which drives the nail. In summary, they will shoot through someone. The nails they use also have a little orange cap to keep them aligned in the barrel. The "little piece of flesh" on the nail is actually that orange plastic.

So I know this is an older video but still thought I would post this. So honey is actually really good for healing wounds because it pulls out moisture from the wound preventing swelling and it would also create almost a seal so you would stop bleeding pretty quickly, It would also help in a few other ways but those are the big two things. However the real honey you would want to use is Manuka honey which is grown from manuka trees in New Zealand. You would want this because the manuka honey has a particular compound in it that actually kills bacteria. So all of this would be super helpful for the kind of wound that Robert had especially since he didn't make it to the hospital to fast after this wound. It would also be super helpful for a wound that was taking a long time to heal amongst other things!

It was a really important film for me when I was growing up. My dad was someone who only appeared to cause issues in our lives, and every time I looked into the world I was somewhat resentful of my lot in life. And then I saw Jim Hawkins. A role model that was not only going through every issue I was, but also showed that I could maybe move past it some day. That, and the animation is both beautiful and unique, with a stunning blend of traditional, digital and hand drawn art to create a masterpiece.

I’d be so happy if he did that. My favourite fact about Hacksaw Ridge is that while most directors take some artistic license with true stories to make it a bit more dramatic for the big screen, the director for HR actually had to dial it down because test groups found the whole truth too unbelievable. Key example (mild spoiler): In the movie, Doss is up on the ridge being super heroic for like a couple of days before being carried down on a stretch, and that’s incredible. In reality, his medal of honour was awarded for the dates of April 29 to May 21, three weeks and a day, during which he saved the lives of nearly 100 soldiers. He basically only stopped because he’d run out of rations. And right at the end, he actually allowed another man to take his place on the stretcher, and as a result he was shot by a Japanese sniper, which fractured his left shoulder. Obviously, the other infantrymen couldn’t come out to save him because of the sniper, so he waited five hours until the sniper moved on and crawled to cover so he could be extracted.

Honey is naturally anti-microbial. Also, I loved the side story stuff in the movie because it fleshed out the characters more. So I'm all for it. I can't believe you didn't mention the line from Chloe Grace Moretz when they were talking in the diner after she gives him her demo CD. He calls her a singer and she delivers this gut puncher of a response: "We both know what I really am..." Ugh, the feels... But then he comes back with a great response to that. It was really nice to see that this whole ordeal was him getting back at the people who beat up this girl that he befriends. While it seems kind of selfish like he ignores the sex trade until it affects someone he likes, but it makes it more grounded and personal for him, which is something we can better relate to...

The nailer he used to shoot the guy through the eye is a concrete RamSet tool. It sets nails into concrete, usually uses something like a .22 powder round, so it actually “shoots” the nail into the concrete to set it there. Generally used for attaching load bearing framed walls into the poured concrete foundation... so actually a real gun that fires nails instead of bullets

The little bit of the framing nail that you thought was maybe some flesh, that was the bit of plastic used to hold the nail centered in the nail gun's barrel. When loaded into the nail gun, it sits just behind the nail's tip, then then when the nail hits its target, it gets pushed back to the nail's head, and then gets squeezed off the the nail by the force of impact. In the case in the movie, going through the guy doesn't push the plastic off because it's going through flesh, not wood or concrete. It doesn't finally come off because the nail has been slowed down by its passage through flesh and can't bury itself completely in the wall.

The final showdown in the store with the bad guys seems very similar to the final showdown Clint Eastwood's character in High Plains Drifter has with the bad guys gang in that movie. In both movies the 'hero' takes out the bad guys one by one under cover of darkness and distraction(fire in Drifter, water from fire sprinklers in Equalizer). They each kill one of the bad guys by hanging him, and the final kill is the gang leader on his knees screaming, "who are you?" It's much too similar to be a coincidence. I'm guessing one of the writers for Equalizer is a Clint Eastwood movie fan.

to be honest, i really like the long time this film takes before getting into action. it creates some kind of suspense, because you know it is a action movie and the whole time you are just sitting there and wondering what his first fight is gonna be like. And then, bam, you're shown some bad ass, brutal slaughtering. In general, the fight scenes are great and imaginative, from shotglass to the eye to drill in the head, on every kill you flinch and think: "ouh, that hurt".
