Great reaction! Regarding the butt plug fight, those two are actually brothers and the fight choreographers for the movie! They did an excellent job blending all the action with the zany circumstances surrounding it. Aside from that, one of my favourite details is how the googly eye is the inverse of the bagel. They are the yin and yang symbols of the movie. Even if nothing matters, we have the ability to make things meaningful just by reframing our mindset.

You're the only reactor that I've seen who actually stopped to flip through a handful of the multiverse Evelyn shots, and I'm so glad you did. They painstakingly shot and edited (if I remember correctly) 400 or 500 photos of her for those flash shot scenes, and it was SO worth it, in my humble opinion. But damn, if it didn't take a LOT of work. Lol

23:04 Those two guys are actually the fight choreographers for the entire movie. Andy and Brian Le, brothers. They started on KZread and their channel is MartialClub.

This is the first movie I've seen in a while that just made me grin like a lunatic the entire time (except for Waymond's plea at the IRS, which made me cry). I'm sure there are flaws somewhere in it, but it succeeds so hard in everything that counts that I can't bother to even look for them.

You asked why the family tried to prevent Jobu from going into the bagel? The way I saw it, they were always controlling and judgemental of her (well, not Waymond) and at this point they are all enlightened by Evelyn's experience so they decided to set her free and let her make her own decisions and that made Jobu feel loved enough that she no longer felt the need to run away, she was finally accepted for who she is so she decided to stay and connect with her mom

I meant more the Alpha Universe people than her Laundromat family. But thats still a really interesting comment, appreciate the info :D

@@AdamfromFWCI If I understand the question right; the reason the Alpha-verse was trying to stop Jobu at the beginning and not the end, is simply because they didn't know what she was doing. At first they believed Jobu was building something to destroy the entirety of the multiverse and they NEEDED to kill her, but as soon as they figured out her plan was to actually take herself out they didn't want Evelyn to stop her, so they "switched sides" to try and allow Jobu to enter the bagel.

Even though she created the bagel to end her own life, I think the alpha folks still wanted to get her because the bagel would still continue to destroy everything even after her death

She's not tuning out during the meeting, the chaos is based on ADHD. Also, if you've seen The Goonies or Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, then you've seen Ke Huy Quan (Waymond) in a movie before

A mother gains the power to access the multiverse and uses it to stop/save her daughter from causing distruction - how is that not partly a superhero film lol

@@T0malC21 Because there are no heroes nor villains in the story. Just confused people dealing with their own problems. The superpowers just make it a fantasy/scifi movie, not a superhero movie

@@AdamfromFWCI If this is a superhero movie then so is The Matrix, One, and a bunch of other action movies. You could call it that if you want, but it doesn't have any of the trappings of what most people would consider a true superhero movie. If Evelyn dawned a suit and gave herself a superhero name, maybe it would make more sense to call it a superhero movie. But I think that would detract from the emotional and human element of the movie. We are supposed to see Evelyn as Evelyn, even after she becomes powerful.

@@madeofwax92 I wasn't sure I agreed with the original OP, but as soon as you mentioned a costume and a superhero name, I was sold. Lol this is not a superhero movie. Just a movie about a normal person who becomes the hero of her own life. The hero that she was meant to be in THAT life, her daughter's hero.
