I heard Solti and Chicago Symphony perform Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique live in Orchestra Hall back in 1978. I was up in the top of the hall in the gallery and I remember the thunderous amplitude of the three bass drums at the end of the Witches Sabbath. Very spectacular!

Looking forward to seeing Steve Hoffman here. Saw one of his fairly recent interviews and he was brilliant.

Great show, love the increased variety and the list of guests coming is very impressive, this show is so unique with seasoned orchestral musicians! Another guest you could consider asking is Mark from music on record , he is an excellent speaker of vast knowledge on classical records and performances.

Hi Anthony and all. So, in respect of what the channel is like for me (my own simple opinion) as a lover but not even close to an Audiophile or Classical music aficionado. As I said, on my rather blabbering and nervous appearance, I love classical music but I'm certainly not of the knowledge of yourself or the usual great panel members. All of you and of course Andrew, Alan, Joey, James and Armen etc in the Upper Macadamia Circle (UMC) 😂have given me great recommendations and information. I appreciate the tricky balance of having quality information, guests and drawing in the UMC. I suspect that as you grow, I'll probably fade away and the audience will be the more Audiophilic, Michael Fremer et al. Honestly, I am not complaining you have to start to find your audience, start you did, and they are coming, and I could not be happier for the channel. You can't be all things to all people, keep doing what you are doing, and your audience will find you. In the meantime, I'll keep watching, enjoying and campaigning for you to stop calling us the truly awful name of 'The Peanut Gallery' 🤣😂😁

Janet Baker made a wonderful recording of the Ravel song cycle Scheherazade and Berlioz Nuits d'ete with Barbirolli and the New Philharmonia for EMI back in the late '60s. Janet has such a beautiful mezzo soprano voice.

Keep up the good work. And please go into detail! This livestream is every time a good mixture between characters. And between technical components and our beloved records. Btw: I think I will go into more concerts. Maybe will buy a subscription for the coming season.

Quartetto Italiano has been my favorite for Beethoven. I don't love the Phillips sound on vinyl . Any good vinyl pressing for the Berg?

@@AudiophiliaChannel Thanks for responding. I looked into that on Discogs. Unfortunately the Telefunken recordings include Brahms, Dvorak, Mozart, Schubert, Haydn and Berg but no Beethoven. Their early Beethoven on vinyl are on EMI/Angel/Seraphim. I dislike Angel/Seraphim on vinyl. Not sure about Digital EMI in the 80's.
