Everything Apple Doesn't Tell You About Making Apps

Have you ever wondered what it truly takes to create and launch an app for Apple? Join us on a revealing journey as we delve into the untold challenges and hidden steps that go beyond coding. In this eye-opening video, we uncover the realities of app development with Apple, shedding light on the hurdles, roadblocks, and unmentioned aspects that can make or break your app's success.
Apple, the tech giant known for its iconic iPhones, Macs, Apple TVs, and HomePods, has captivated millions with its seamless ecosystem. But what lies beneath the surface? This video is not about praising Apple's cool gadgets or lauding their cutting-edge technology. Instead, we focus on the apps and Apple's exceptional ability to sell the dream.
Apple made programming and tech sexy. They turned app development into a lifestyle, a passionate endeavor to solve problems and make a difference. With Apple's enticing promises, making an app seems easy and exciting. But the truth is far from what Apple portrays on stage during their Worldwide Developer Conference.
We take you through the journey of app development, starting from day one. You have an idea, and you're filled with enthusiasm as you begin transforming it into a real app. However, as you delve deeper, you realize that making an app isn't as simple as Apple leads us to believe. The dream starts to fade, and you encounter the hidden challenges that Apple conveniently leaves out.
This video isn't about coding or learning Swift or using Xcode. It's about everything else-the "everything else" that can destroy your beautiful, passionate idea and crush it into oblivion. It's about the hurdles that Apple doesn't mention while they're on stage selling the dream of being a sexy app developer.
From day two onwards, you realize that making an app for others requires additional effort. You need metadata-names, icons, descriptions-to make your app stand out. You need to become an official Apple developer, which means spending $99 for the privilege.
Day three arrives, and you learn that there's so much more to making an app than meets the eye. You need a subscription server, a privacy policy, app terms, a contact form, a website, and a set of icons in various resolutions. Moreover, to capture attention, you'll need a demo video or captivating images. Apple doesn't disclose any of this during their conferences; it's up to you to figure it out.
Day four is when the disillusionment fully sets in. You realize that passion and drive aren't enough to sell an app. You need to embrace the unsexy aspects-business, websites, lawyers. The requirements keep piling up, and it feels like an uphill battle.
But fear not! We're here to help you navigate this treacherous path. We introduce you to valuable resources that can streamline the process. Discover UserRevenueCat.com, a subscription server that simplifies the integration of subscription support into your app. Explore platforms like netlify.com or Wix for building a marketing website and support website without breaking the bank.
Legal obligations like privacy policies and terms of use can drain your soul, but we've got you covered with termly.io, a free service that generates privacy policies tailored to your app. And don't worry about creating icons for various platforms and resolutions; Figma.com is your go-to tool for designing icons effortlessly.
Finally, day five approaches-the final stretch. It's time to face the ultimate challenge: App Review. We provide you with tips and tricks to pass App Store Review on the very first try.
Day six arrives, and the long-awaited email from Apple finally arrives. Your app is approved! Excitement surges through your veins as you hit the button, sharing your creation with the world. But day six is just the beginning of your app marketing journey.

Even though I am not a mobile app developer, I enjoyed your take on publishing apps on App Store. This is too much to deal with for an individual app developer who just wants to develop an app and publish it. Apple must simplify this process.

Oh my goodness. I went through a similar experience trying to get a digital version of our books into Apple and Google. Sorry to say, Apple turned out to be the better of the two. Loads of great and practical advice in this video.

I think the worst part is $100 annually, the Play Store is just a one time $25 fee...

Yeah I agree. Seems weird to charge 100 just to get access then take 30% of all sales on top of that.
