Arshad Nazran I don’t think anyone doubts it. (Obviously one team seems to be a lot more consistent at producing results on track) I’m not positive but I think the reference was to the fact that Ferrari is not willing to share info and do these informAtive videos the way Mercedes have been doing.

So glad Merc is publishing these videos... it’s cool for fans to see and gives an idea of just how much work (& where all the money goes) goes into an F1 team.
Having worked in Logistics as a driver myself and also a keen kart racer I can not give enough credit to those in F1 for what they do.. It's an incredible thing. Kudos Mercedes AMG F1.
Hi Mercedes! I'm an IT Support Technician for a Rail freight and Track maintenance company in the UK. I would love to see how your Trackside/Factory IT Technicians go about getting all of your IT kit up and running, it looks like you have a lot! In the network racks you travel with, do these contain Domain Controllers/RODC's? Do your technicians have to run mass amounts of network cable each time or do you have custom wiring looms like you would on the cars? Please would you be able to make a video covering this? Thanks!
@distantanomaly9649

I second this Dan Curtis. I am a Cyber security Grad student. I am very interested in the network racks, if they include firewall appliances? The network topology through out the entire Mercedes paddock looks complex as you would not want to share the same subnet as your rival team.

Those types of “warroom” setups are common in lots of industries... theyre not doing anything revolutionary. I wouldnt think theyd use wireless with all the interference. Id like to know how they get and feed all the real time telemetry back to garage.

You probably don't need to bring a Domain Controller to the track. Presumably they already have a VPN to tunnel the traffic back to HQ so that could be used to carry the AD auth requests.
@DanCurtis11
4 жыл бұрын
@@bend386 I wouldn't imagine a fully fledged domain controller would be brought along. I would hazard a guess and suggest a RODC would most likely be used - considering they were designed with "branch offices" in mind. Although, I wouldn't disagree a VPN.
I really like and appreciate the behind the scene looks. As a truck driver, logistics are very interesting. The Mercedes Team seems to be all class, one quality that attracts me to F1.

Props to Mercedes for making these awesome and interesting videos.
Great video! These behind the scenes videos are wonderful, content-rich videos of areas and subjects F1 fans never get to see. Thanks for sharing. Would be wonderful if you could do a time-elapsed video of assembling a F1 car once you get to the track, or a video of various computer screens during FP sessions, if possible. Obviously it would have to be non-proprietory / non-secret information of the car and its operation.
Thanks agin for these incredible videos. Its amazing to see behind the scenes after all this time.
I'm from Dublin Ireland and I've been a Fan of F1 since the late 80s I whould love to see a race live to see the car's race up close. Keep doing more video's like this because it let's us fan's see what behind the curtain.
Thank you for showing us the ballet of teamwork that goes into the grandest motor racing league.
They move all of this 21 times in a year and it is more organized than my closet
Merc: You need to have a second driver that supports the team. AND you need a first driver who you can say "GET IN THERE" to. HAM & BOT: Yes

I am a Ferrari fan , but nevertheless i fully appreciate what you brought to F1, and that's nothing short of brilliance. The organisation, and level of commitement is absolutely sky-high. You deserve to be in this position and your mentality has allowed you to stay there (even though , as i'm sure you guys know as well, it is much harder to stay #1 than to actually reach that spot). So congratulations , and keep bringing your A game to this wonderful sport. Cheers !

Wow, I couldn’t imagine managing and making sure everything is up to top performance. Watching races, most often we think of the drivers and how good they are but damn can we get a slow hand clap to the people who actually keep this sport alive. The people who put all this and the car together(21, next year 22 times a year), you never realize how much time and effort goes into the performance of these cars but damn im impressed.

What a job. I had a job that involved very expensive toys and traveling 150-200 days a year too. The thing I miss the most is the camaraderie. It was tough being gone a lot but I miss the crazy stuff that went on on the road.

@@AAde-or3qz What makes you think these guys are millionaires? Lots of dream jobs like this don't actually pay very well because they don't need to entice people with money. If you want to be rich, do something boring like work for an investment bank.

@@sntslilhlpr6601 I don't think,.. I know! Up and down the F1 paddock, there are more millionaires than any street in the world. It's very competitive to get into yes, and, entry level technicians are only on about 50K. But once in and experienced and you're indispensable salaries rise rapidly. Most chief mechanics and senior technicians are absolutely positively multi millionaires. I mean,..these guys design and determine the auto industry's future. If you consider what they do it's a no brainer.
