But to give them a motivator to negotiate the power inbalance ruining this world. Would boycotting them one by one work or intimate them and others enough to change the way they operate? I wonder cuz ppl say boycotts dont work. And that is usually the case cuz ppl have a hard time boycotting several at the same time. But what if we got organized and all started to boycott the same bad guy til he/she loses all that power? After that one, we move on to the next. And so on. Would that help our situation or am i being naive lol? I am askin cuz we gave em that power. Therefore, there must be a way to turn it back, no?

    It's not the same. People in Argentina doesn't go into a variable interest rate debt. They usually pay the prices high up front, and keep a fix interest rate. When you are a salary person indebted in countries WITH REAL ECONOMIES (not like argentina), when interest rates go up you're in BIG BIG TROUBLE. A 2% difference in interest rates can mean a 500-1000 us$ difference in payments for a small home. And that in a context where the price of living is rising too. Another big difference with REAL COUNTRIES, is that in argentina they have extorsive and criminal UNIONS. They will increase the salary of the people of specific sectors to go with inflation. That doesn't happen in real countries. The pay is what it is. Real wages go down.

    I think the whole world is struggling but there is something different in Peru ... we struggle but we are not unhappy because we have quite clear that any path isn't full of roses and even if it is... roses have thorns so, let's not romanticized the drama in struggling, all of us went through it ... you just learn to walk step by step, get better, save money, and keep going on while you enjoy it. In 1983 we went through the worst inflation for my country like 200% even more than Argentina has now, less than Venezuela, I remember well we couldn't eat meat but we learnt how to make tofu, and soja meat and we started eating more beans and quinoa... we started learning about how to feed ourselfs correctly with less money. How my mother was a retired teacher but yet she was trying to keep making money as stylist. I was studying to become a doctor but life happened and here I am ... a teacher, I still have dreams, I just enjoy each small or big step I give. If I want to eat fresh food I will make time to cook it and take it with me and eat it... I won't complain about how I don't have time or how many hours I didn't sleep to do that. Be smart enough to see the patterns each 20 or 40 years this happens, so you can not trust all your incomings to just one source, because that source may fall.

    If you have a lot of money you can actually take a loan out, invest it at a higher interest rate, keep the loan rolling perpetually and live off the accrued interest. Billionaires do this all the time to avoid paying taxes. You never get upside down because the rate at which you borrowed the money is much lower than what you invested it at. borrow at 1 percent and invest it in treasuries at 5 percent or 6 percent for instance.

    Losing manufacturing and construction is devastating. The US did that through outsourcing. Now, manufacturing jobs are just starting to come back online. But it’s going to take time to rebuild. The wealthy don’t live in the same reality as the poor, working poor, lower to middle class who are the builders and backbone of any economy. Instead they’re looked down on. Small businesses shouldn’t be shouldering ever increasing interest rates, they’re not the cause of inflation and income inequality. Look to the rich hoarding money.

  • @jinniwind

    @jinniwind

    7 ай бұрын

    Not sure if manufacturing jobs will actually go back to the states. What i have seen is just having the last step of labeling of some sort at the end of the whole process and label it “mDe in USA”. It’s not unique to US though, as it’s the same in Europe and Japan. For example, a US socks making company used to produce socks in China, and now because of this “made in USA” trend, they moved back, but are still buying plain socks from China and only does the final decoration in the US, and then label it made in USA. So there are lots of nuances in this, and you need to make sure that the material is from the US as well as every step of the process. The foundation of the problem is the disparity of labor and material cots between the developed and developing countries. As China is getting expensive, many manufacturing countries are moving to vietnam, srilanka, thailand and indonesia, but not a lot actually moved back to the developed countries.

    Thankfully he is contacting them through video phone calls and probably talks to them everyday. I still get why he does that, cause education for children in SK is really expensive. You might get shocked at how expensive it is and what the dad was doing is actually a better way than to take many loans. It's the culture where children can't really start doing part-time jobs is getting to me really. Let those kids start doing small jobs from early on and save up for their own education. It will alleviate the pressure on their parents to a certain degree even if they only buy those expensive stuff with their money. Personally, buying brand things because of how others think and look of you is already something absurd in my opinion but can't really speak cause I have always been the extreme outlier from a young age anyway. So fitting in doesn't really work for me to begin with anyway and doing the work would not even bring me close to it, so yeah just being myself is the best. You could wrap it into a sustainable, minimalistic kind of wrapper and that would make you look into being in a certain group though 🤷🏾‍♀️

    Inflation is such a big problem worldwide, mostly due to COVID and the war in Ukraine. Eating out in my country for a simple meal easily costs 30.000 won/20 euro's, and what you have then is a simple sandwich with something to drink. Having dinner can easily be 75.000 won/50 euro's. I feel for these people. Packing your own lunch has been a stable here since forever and I guess they have no choice but to implement that in Korea as well. Because of the war in Ukraine the energy prices in my country hit the roof, which made all the prices in the supermarket soar as well because we all need energy to produce. Because of all of these reasons birth rate in South Korea are dropping down unlike India . i don't understand in India how do people survived with kids with less earnings? after all this still India is no1 at birth rate . No one cares about population , competition, poverty, pollution 🤦‍♀. Atleast other countries people think about this if they can't survive they don't think about the kids and marriage.

    Capitalism... monolopies... short-sighted legislation. That's happening in the u.s. People are dependent upon a system that encourages people to go into debt and to have more and more while giving back less and less for labor. Food costs increased here too, and again ... most are dependent upon this system because most are not able to grow their own food. Like me 😅 I manage to kill 🌵 My groceries are much more than before... and the 99cent store is a lie now lol. People>profits

    Capitalism is not the root cause. It is croneyism and corporatism. When corporations like the chaebols of SK are in close collaboration with the government there is corruption and economic inefficiency. The free market suffers as a result. You are seeing the corruption of capitalism itself and blaming capitalism without even realizing it.

    The only thriving industry in this country is church industry , these youngsters are finding difficult to find jobs hence they go into the profession of being a missionary and serve the american agenda. These missionaries are exported to developing countries which were either looted or colonized ,these missionaries sell them a dream by show casing a grand life if they accept jesus, but here we see the reality.I respect these hardworking ppl who choose to go into different feilds and make a living instead of being a missionary.

    I already seen this far way back in 2016 when our company ditched the components we purchased from SK that we order since 1987 because the prices goes up to 400%!!!! for the same specs and materials!! and NO we didn't switch to the Chinese one, we replaced it with Australian made which is around 150% from the usual prices. I remember mumbling "The Koreans get too cocky and do some ridiculous price gauging"

    CTTO: letting the cat out of the bag. By Anonymous~1937 "What did you tell that man just now?" "I told him to hurry." "What right do you have to tell him to hurry?" "I pay him to hurry." "How much do you pay him?" "Four dollars a day." "Where do you get the money?" "I sell products." "Who makes the products?" "He does." "How many products does he make in a day?" "Ten dollars' worth." "Then, instead of you paying him, he pays you $6 a day to stand around and tell him to hurry." "Well, but I own the machines." "How did you get the machines?" "Sold products and bought them." "Who made the products?" "Shut up. He might hear you."
