How to spot a bias? When interviewing the anti feminist wangja, the music back ground is heavy and scary, and the narrator said that wangja dressing as female is disrespectful. But interviewing the girl who dresses as man, the narrator and angle it takes is that it to help the women to overcome her fear of man. It is not characterized as a caricature when the woman dresses as man..rather it is a form of art. The background music is not dreary. So how can you blame the anti feminist movement here? The title of this documentary is supposed to be about masculinity and men..and yet the perspective of feminism about men is very much all round this film. I really fear for young man around the world.

Well duh. Not everyone is made to be in the army, it's not all rainbows and sunshine. You literally have people killing each other there or committing suicide because of mandatory service in a nation they didn't choose to be born or be born a male. Not to mention same mandatory service pays bellow minimum wage and some have to use their own savings to survive and you're asking people to put their life on hold the years you could spend actually learning something or start getting job experience which women will have over males. The reason USA has such an army is precisely because of the benefits and pay, of course some do join out of love for the country. Like the same video at 19:07 pie chart and 27:50 interview says exactly why getting rid of mandatory service will = having a harder time getting volunteers

@@xAvitaLT a lot of the anti-war and anti-military activists who also bitched about how big the US's defense budget fail to realize that when you have a volunteer arm force, you have to have some incentive for people to join.

I'm German and we had a mandatory military service for men too up until like the 2010s. My dad served in a special unit and mostly has fond memories of it, my uncle however was one of the first men who refused to serve in the 80s and did civil service instead. I get though why men could feel like something is taken from them and they do lose 2 years of their lives basically

The real problem is that feminists have consistently portrayed them as privileged and potential criminals over the past decade, despite the fact that young Korean men are making more sacrifices. And there are hundreds of government-funded women's organizations, but not a single one for men. Policies that receive additional points simply because they are women or rent homes are pouring in. Some of the people CNN interviewed are very extreme people and cannot explain things properly because of their position. I am concerned that this documentary will distort the current situation and accommodate it in a way that is easy for them to understand

Really enjoying the series on South Korea

The youtuber at the start, hyojason. I think what he's doing is the equivalent of what the teacher wanted but could not give. By getting a head-start and making these teens' first exposure to the military a positive thing, it can help shift the negative light surrounding military participation. Overall, good documentary. It makes me think almost, if SG is heading down a similar path

In Korea, while you are serving military, you are your country's property. There's no such thing as human rights. If you die while serving, no one will take responsibility except for some lip service for the media. Also, since it is a compulsory service, you get paid less than $400.00 a month which is way less than even minimum wage. Working 40 hours at minimum wage per week in Korea will get you around $300 before taxes.

@@jaykim538 A nation is worth defending when people treat their soldiers with the respect that they deserve. I don’t see much of that in Korea. I brought up the minimum wage because I have seen young people being used to do errands for higher ranked officers that had nothing to do with defending the country and bullying is too common. To me they seemed like indentured servants than actual soldiers. You and I may have gone through the same thing, but it does not make it okay. A nation needs people, but people don’t need a nation to exist.

I think that sucks. The govt should pay more especially considering how wealthy Korea's become. All soldiers should be paid a living wage for defending their country. I guess I'm not understanding how some men are pointing their anger about this against women as an example of gender inequality. That the Korean govt's fault.

​@@seamslatasha3598 Well, in early stage, there was an incident that some feminists went to take way one of few merits of finishing the conscription - merit in civil servant exam. Now, civil servant is one of most desired job among young people, so it isn't strange that some men are upset about it. Anyway, the biggest issue is around affirmative action. Feminists in Korea see affirmative action is necessary for advancing its agenda. Right now, young men are also thinking they should be compensated with privileges(like job merit or quota for example) if the government have no money as traditional 'patriotism' brainwashing losing its effect. Unfortunately, while individually they might sound reasonable, in reality, one effectively counteracts the effect of the other, hence the 'gender war' is growing.

I learnt grit in the army. I didn’t mind not getting paid for the privilege of defending my country. Money isn’t everything. I leveraged what I learnt in the army and built a business.

Universe did it's thing organically thousands of years ago. When we were hunter gatherers, in caves and tribes roaming the earth for survival. Everything you see today in modern society, including social constructs is us "picking and choosing" what rights are. As much as we try to create "equality", the universe is not, biology is not either. We all have our strengths, weaknesses, privileges and struggles. I do believe very human should have equal rights, but I wonder if in our quest for "equality" and "fairness" in life, we have forgotten what we really are. If the animals around us behaved like we did they would be extinct before we had the chance to wipe em out with our activities.

This is what you get when you only interview youtubers. Walk down the street and meet a normal Korean male. What you see on the media doesn't define the Korean male definition of masculinity. I'm a Korean male with two kids, in my 30. I put all my effort into being able to provide for my family and be a better component of society. I try best to make my wife happy (though I fail miserably from time to time). I play sports, I have hobbies, and my time is spent between work and family. I have no time for these "beauty treatments". I/We can give up my personal freedom for the greater collective of our culture. For me that's masculinity. Being a responsible person to myself and my fam. Which included myself serving over 24months in the ROK Army. Don't see everything you believe. I run, lift, and take care of myself because being healthy matters. I have zero interest to look like the flower boys this presenter is portraying. This documentary is only the the skim of milk on top of your coffee. True Korean men knows what it takes to make sacrifices and understands the true meaning of grit. Korea becoming what it is now is not a serendipitous happenstance. This documentary is BS to a lesser degree. 70 years ago soldiers died so I can thrive under this freedom, our uncles fought for democracies, and our parents perspired blood to make this country the way it is. Yes, there are issues, but who doesn't? I plan to carry on the grit my forefathers taught me and plan to do so until I die. Next time, before you make such a shallow generalization of an entire demographic, go out and meet you a typical Korean male instead of meeting edge of the spectrum personas to justify your storyline. Stop bashing us and leave us be.

Fringe sub cultures of feminism and anti feminism and young guys just out of high school, going into military is such a small, small portion of it and avoid the majority of people. Having said that, I've met both the kinds of people in this documentary. They exist, but I also think average Korean male engages in paternalism, low expectations and infantilism of women, extreme vanity, sexism, objectification of women etc. I know because I deal with Korean guys daily. It's even worse if you're a foreign woman.

Skillfully spotted. Biased documentaries like this are contributing to the problem, while western white-girl wannabes continue thinking they're saving the world. Very poor directing as well. The salient problems raised by the men are brushed aside with weak counter-arguments, making for an unconvincing watch.

In the Netherlands men do not have a draft anymore. Women on average still graduate in shorter times with higher grades in higher numbers. And when these women have kids they have to take a step back from their careers or lose their jobs altogether. Or are presumed that they might have kids and get skipped over for promotions altogether. And why not have women be drafted as well.

I also am confused how do men not understand this. Even in the west - when women have a child, they will most likely be losing out on career opportunities, but if they don''t want to have children, then the society goes after them, because CHILDREN yada yada.. A woman with a full time job, children, AND married to a man that doesn't want to contribute to chores in a meaningful way puts extreme stress and burden onto the woman. And then the same man will go around and complain about his shitty, nagging wife, that doesn't let him sit on the sofa all day.

Because the war in Korea will be a very brutal war of attrition. The Korean army cannot retreat even 100 meters. Everyone must stop the enemy and die on the spot. Women cannot be expected to wage these wars, and the political burden of a mass death of women is incomparable to that of a mass death of men.

You know why they make out a humor against sexual assault cases on men? Because women are charged heavily compared to men assaulters. To give a further explanation, there was a recent news about a boyfriend killed his girlfriend and he got only 4 years in jail. There are numerous cases that woman killed her boyfriend/husband because of his severe violence.The jurisdiction system gives her over 10 years in jail because they saw it as 'intentional killing' when a guy kills a woman it is not 'intentional' more like a 'accidental' incident.

What exactly are modern day feminists fighting for? I think an argument can be made that Korea is a matriarchal society. They have a woman on the $50 bill, female president, special reserved parking spots for women, reserved seats on trains, they don't have mandatory military service like men, men have higher likelihood of dying on the job, women have higher life expectancy than men, higher rate of female college graduates, women on average receive half the prison sentence as men for the same crime and criminal history, men have higher suicide rate, best selling authors are feminists, news media is dominated by feminist writers, etc.

17:32 how come ? when I was studying in Uni back in 2013 in Malaysia ... I remember it was the new semester and everyone was rushing to do their registration, add or drop classes and etc. There was a Korean guy besides me he was talking to one of the admins that he needs to do military. I'm not sure whether he decided to quit or deferred doing his course. Sooo....... he clearly had not performed his military duty right ?? And Kpop idols too ???

You can defer, but once you reach certain age, you don't have much choice by law. That's also when the government stops issuing you passport to ensure you don't flee from duty.

I am a Korean American. I don't know any Korean man using cosmetic as CNA describes here in America. But, I guess, Korea might be different.

@@proverbs31university None of my male cousins do this. So no, she’s not accurately representing most Korean men, just the ones living the glamour style probably living in Seoul.

A really great doc once again!! More people should watch this as I believe it applies not just to SK but also many other developing countries in the world. We are in the first generation of women being educated and earning salaries where they can support themselves and no longer have to rely or compromise on their partners. The gender roles are shifting and like with any change causes friction on all sides. I believe the way forward is not taking sides but rather people listening to each other, respecting opinions, understanding challenges that both genders face, and championing for a more fair, equal, supportive world. Only then can we as a society move forward.

there's Jordan Peterson even in North America. Feminism is not an absolute truth. And Korean feminism has a strong radical tendency. cause they're a group of losers that started online. Korean feminism was started by losers who escaped reality and assimilated online. It is not a women's human rights organization with a history like in the West. Surprisingly, I feel like the intentions behind that protestor is valid. Feminism shouldn't be about attacking guys, but more about reaching a balance, if not a compromise. To me, it seems like men are being oppressed in Korea, but women aren't the villain: the (male) ruling power is. If mandatory service is necessary, they should have mandatory labour for women as well. Since women have a physical disadvantage,it would be unrealistic to give women the same functions as men. They could either make other civil service mandatory, or they could make other military functions mandatory, related healthcare, administration, education, mechanics, technological development, etc. At the same time, women may be oppressed too, but then again: the bitter men aren't the villain, and neither is the ruling power. They fall behind on careers because their parents raised them differently to their brothers, because men with corporate power don't see the strength in femininity, and because they & their friends maintain their own internalized misogyny. And they are the victim of male physical violence including rape, because of their biological disadvantage combined with the fact that men aren't taught to handle their emotions well enough.

People who oppose mandatory military service seem to mostly come from priviledged and safe countries....be glad and never take your safety for granted please

I like kpop & kdramasa but im so glad i dont live in this country. Their lives look and feel so stressful. Personally, I would not thrive or survive in such a pressure-filled environment. I live in Africa where life is not rosy, but there is no pressure to be beautiful or be an overachiever. For that I'm grateful.

I am a Korean man in his 30s. The problem of gender discrimination began in the 2010s when women's organizations demanded extra points that were given to men who had served in the military in the civil service examination, the most popular job in Korea. Normally, women start to enter society at the age of twenty-four years old and men at twenty-six years old, assuming that they have graduated from college. In Korea, men usually have to buy a house when they get married. In terms of cost, it's 90% male and 10% female. I think discrimination is that men have to pay most of the money when they get married, although they enter society two years later than women.

Gender issues are tough. This story was at the forefront of discussions in the U.S. years ago. On the one hand, it's obviously wrong for a glass ceiling and a gender pay gap to exist. On the other, a major discussion point arose on public platforms like Reddit about a small but vocal minority of feminists that diverged from the core message of gender equality to one of being anti-men which bashed men at every opportunity. Some media took this and ran with it which normalized bashing men and made it acceptable whereas it's obviously taboo to bash on women. Then you have a generation of young men who had not been a part of the patriarchal society that caused these problems in the first place become resentful when they notice that this disparity exists. The most psychologically affected ones become the anti-feminists (or worse, anti-women) which then feeds the cycle of converting more feminists to becoming anti-men and gives rise to popular media figures like Jordan Peterson that feed off this discontent. Korea is even more complex when you factor military conscription that halts your professional life for a year and a half but women expect men to be as professionally successful or more than they are before even being considered for dating. I have no answers but the discussions always end up being so toxic that I don't really want to be involved one way or the other.

I agree with most points, but I feel that Koreans generally lack empathy for others, like how these Korean men don't try to understand that these women clearly don't like how chauvinistic they can be, and that they should try not to be the type of men the women dislike, and instead go after the government and the older generation for creating such a culture.

@@Capsensor because from what I have seen from real life and in the video, Koreans in general lack a sense of empathy for others, like how the older generation would rather the younger generation go through the same suffering as them instead of trying to make things better for younger generations. And when these young people become seniors, they want to emulate the authority of the seniors before them, and prefer that feeling of superiority , forgetting the pains they felt when younger, creating a never ending cycle.

No wonder South Korea's fertility rate is lowest in the world. The expectations placed on men are ridiculous. Serve in the military, have a good education, have a high paying job, get contempt from society or media if unsuccessful. I do not know if the divorce laws are biased in the favour of women like they are in most countries, that could be a factor as well.

@@elodeduvenhage7695 Well (in the US) there's an implicit bias for judges to award custody of children to women even in cases where their father would be a better caretaker. There's also the same bias applied when deciding how to split the assets. There's more but those are the two things that popped up off the top of my head.

@@elodeduvenhage7695 Laws are applied in the favour of women. Look up the countless cases of false domestic violence that women add on during divorce battles which are taken up without due evidence. Women get much higher alimony than men when they are not breadwinners. Women get primary child custody in a majority of the cases, with the assumption that a mother is more imp to a chipd's development. Men are jailed and met with state violence if they lose their jobs and are unable to pay alimony/child support.

Industrialization has way more to do with it. Which contemporary countries have industrialized the fastest? Japan, SK, China. The more artificial daily life becomes, the less time + money couples have to reproduce. This has happened in every single 1st world country.

Perceptions is double edge swords, it can be a beautiful thing and it can be a dangerous thing... We as a society needs to evolve our perception on ourselves... We need to see ourselves as human beings.. this will resolve alot of issues that alot of us arond the world is currently facing... For example.. the perception that were taught to us of men is the protector, the strong one etc.. and of women, the care takers, emotional etc.. these perceptions will divide us more.. but if we look at men and women are just human beings... Both men and women have emotions and can be strong at the same time... This will help us to resolve many things, not only gender equality, but discrimination against racism, LGBTQ communities, etc.... After all, if we actually look closely what the feminist and anti feminist protest for is just equality... They are actually protesting for the same cause ❤

This documentary was very informative. I think that both sides of the feminist and anti-feminist protest have their reasons for their actions. Honestly, from my perspective both men and women are in the same boat. Initially, the men may have some setbacks in terms of their career progression due to enlisting. Similarly, women also have setbacks later in their career when they go on maternity leave. Protecting a nation and raising the next generation are pivotal for the growth of a nation. People have to make sacrifices and it is never about who makes more sacrifice, and thus should be superior to the other. Men and women have to support each other. Not compare themselves and fight like siblings on who got the bigger share of the cake. Also, it is the politicians manipulating the voters by creating sides to garner supporters, that cause this friction between men and women to escalate.

Make it mandatory for most of the population but don't base it on gender

What good would a woman be on the frontlines, honestly? There are so many ways women could support the war effort (if it ever comes to this), that do not involve them being in the army.

The other fallacy is that this search for outward perfection is the only kind of perfection we seek.

More like human rights equality that should be addressed. Men and women are different with different roles and different biological traits. If mandatory military only for men then maybe right of age women should also learn the skills as basic combat emergency nurses 🤔 T&C applied. So this will put equal mandatory for both genders just different roles. Just my opinion 🤷

If SK just wants to stay at half of the peninsula, maybe it could be abolished... but the last thing SK wants is having current border shared with China. In other words, as long as SK pursuits unification with NK, it won't go away any time soon.

Great video all around, gonna watch everything from this series. Good reporting on the real South Korea. Very surprised with the comments under this video. So much gender discrimination still. Why is it so hard for us people to just stop for a second and try and have a conversation without blaming each other for every little thing that happened? What is it in human nature...

I think in almost every country the problem with it is similar. Non of this movements is entirely wrong and right. As the girl said about anti-feminist that they are so concentrated on their opression that they don't see opression of other gender. I think the same statement can be applied for the feminist. In idealistic sitution media and politics should cover problems of both gender in 50:50 ratio, but that doesn't seem to happen and that might cause frustration. If we talk about not equal wages, sexual assault towards woman, domestic violence, we should also talk about Social pressure towards men that leads to depression and really high suicide statistics, domestic violance towards men, that no one is talking about, or worse is making fun of. Education about violance and abuse, this aspect is still in my opinion purley covered, how is that people still accept the fact that woman can hit the men because he cheated or he flirted with another girl. It is violance, but nobody seems to care about it. That are my thoughts as a woman and a human. If we want to have similar rights Let's look and talk about all the problems without pinpointing who has it worse. Sorry for my english, it's not my native

Men face just as much discrimination, harassment, violence, and pressure from society but it goes unnoticed and nobody in mainstream media talks about it. This is why male suicide rates are 3x higher than women. The truth is simple, both men & women have problems that need attention but neither one should be given priority or treated differently than the other. There needs to be a mutual understanding in order to make any meaningful progress.

@@seamslatasha3598 I don’t think so. Many women are capable and do exhibit sexism towards men. The reason why men are angry is because society doesn’t care about men so the abuse goes unnoticed. For example, especially somewhere traditional like Korea if a man does not have a good job, salary, looks, etc. he is not considered marriage material to be a good husband. Men are judged for their gender constantly and if you complain you are laughed at. There is tons of pressure for men to get good jobs, provide, go to military, beauty standards from kpop etc and if you don’t you are considered a failure of a man. Women get treated unfairly, but so do men. It’s not one sided, women can mistreat men as well, but society doesn’t care so it goes unnoticed. As a result this frustration turns into anger redirected at society.

It’s one thing to say that men experience societal hardship but why blame women for that? That has to do with Korea’s social structure and their submission to authorities and their reverence of the rich and good looking all of which are virtues constructed and marketed by men in power yet bc chauvinism is so normal all of that blame is put on women bc God forbid that a women have a higher station in life if a man can’t manage it first. Why put the blame on women instead of fighting the real ppl in power; the super rich and corrupt most of whom are men.

I have a feeling regular Korean folks have not been interviewed at all. Some random anti-feminist doesn't the country make. On the military service, IMO, there should be an alternative service such as helping Community, etc... That said, considering what SK faces, i.e. North Korea and China, it doesn't seem feasible to go away from conscription. This is why Sweden, Norway, Israel, Switzerland, etc.. have conscription as they aren't big enough countries to be able to field volunteer army or are facing potential larger enemies. That said, Sweden, Norway and Israel do conscript everyone and folks are able to serve in different roles. Not everyone needs to be a front line fighter.

I do see your point, but the situation for each case was different. The man was trying to provoke whereas the woman was expressing herself artistically. He was outside in public, she was in an art stage. I think dressing as the other gender gives a sense of liberation from gender roles, so I think it’s this social rigidity that both are victim to. I think otherwise you’re missing the forest for the trees.

@@larpo05 It's less important that he was dressed as a "woman" but that he dressed like that got on top of a car on a public street with a bullhorn and yelled unintelligibly about who knows what and then went to "talk" with a feminist organization and was surprised that they called the cops on him. Anybody would view that as aggressive and potentially threatening bc the dude was looking and acting crazy. She put on drag to see if dressing like that made her feel more masculine. As of now, an extremist misandry group in Korea has been exploiting all the true feminist movement and basically has hijacked them to express hatred toward men. There is a group called "Megalia" and "Womad" which are extremist groups who claim that all men should be punished for the patriarchal history. They literally make memes out of a boy being sexually harassed by females and glorify females who are abusive to male partners. They've become more prominent in public media by disguising themselves among real "feminists", and provoking unnecessary tensions within the society. Their purpose has been to antagonize "feminism" in Korea in an attempt to provoke people like Wangja, who inevitably will be easy to target as a Misogynist. I really hope people try to learn more about the entire situation holistically, instead of simplying saying "men bad, women good."

I think the fact that both countries with a very wide wage gap and countries with a very small wage gap came out of Northern Europe, the most gender-equal region in the world, shows the illusion of the gender wage gap. A more obvious trend is industry structure. The more the industrial structure depends on heavy industry, heavy chemistry, semiconductors, and IT, the wider the gender wage gap becomes. It is no coincidence that Finland is among the top countries for the gender pay gap.

Some people might think that all Korean men became anti-feminist because they were taken away their privileges. But no, it's not. Only Korean young men, especially under 40s, are anti-feminist. Because they are equalists. They don't think that they are superior than women. They had watched their female friends who took top tier score of GPA and being voted student presidents. Young male were no sad for that. Actually they don't have any feeling about that because it's so natural. However, women accuse them as some kind of predators who take all money and all superior positions because young male are also men. Korean middle aged men, who actually have "all power and all money", agreed with that so they try to give benefits to women. 'The boomers' enjoyed their men privileges when they were young so they try to change laws and systems for women. It's some kind of pay off debt. Until a few years ago, when taking civil service exams, additional points were given to those who completed their military service. However, the Supreme Court overturned it because the women's group claimed that it was discrimination against women. When recruiting police or firefighters, women take an easier fitness test. The government budget for women's organizations is increasing. Finally Young Korean men burst that 'What the fuxx is this? Why would government and society eager to give privileges and benefit only for women? I also have no money and no job! I finished my military mandatory but no reward of that but mocking from young women'. There is no conflict between men and women in Korea. It's only that millennial men verses millennial women with middle aged men who supported for them.

There is no real organic desire in Korea to feminize males. This push is a great example of good old fashion top-down Bernaysian style social engineering. Marketing firms and public relations people use the media and celebrities to associate beauty products and luxury brands with being high status and desirable. If they can get men to also feel like they need to use beauty products, that is a doubling of the potential consumer base. Treating men and women as exact equals is stupid. Men and women have different strengths, mentally and physically. A woman's quality is her emotional maturity/multi tasking, being able to BRING LIFE etc. Men r physically stronger and in most cases more stern than women, this is a fact and why most countries may ask men to join the military as their biological qualities r more equip for the environment of a military. Honestly, men are absolutely okay with women having equal rights and even advocate for it. But problems arise when so-called feminists pick and choose "equal rights" only when it suits them. You can't have it both way, ladies.

Good documentary but I noticed some bias from the reporter against Wangja & his boss. On feminism, it's not just in Korea but across the world where the movement initially started out to emancipate women (1st wave feminism) has now evolved into a man-hating philosophy (3rd wave feminism) at it's most extreme forms. Bottom line is, there are many problems & societal pressures with both genders but nobody ever talks about men's rights and thus why so many modern young men feel oppressed.

There is great irony in that statement - men feel oppressed. Men have defined roles pretty much forever. Any box they believe they are in, they created. It may well be not that men are oppressed, but that being male will no longer guarantee certain privileges, some of which men can't even see as privileges because they have always been there. Women want to stand on the same ground, at the same level and be treated as people just as men want to be treated as people. Genitalia should not define or limit a person's place in the world.

First and foremost if women want to stand on the same ground, then where are the women in the labour work force such as construction, oil rigs, mining, and other high risk jobs etc.? Answer: they don’t want to work these jobs. The truth hurts but it’s simple, many choices made by men & women are motivated by self-interest. In fact in egalitarian societies such as Sweden, science has shown that there is a greater difference between men & women. I’m not an expert but I recommend watching some videos on Jordan Peterson regarding gender politics. For many reasons there cannot be true “equality” because it doesn’t exist. It’s the same reason why you cannot have forced equal distribution of wealth, a “prosperous” communist society, or forced gender “equality” in this case because society doesn’t work that way. For example, men are willing to take more risk hence working high risk jobs for better pay or work overtime, thus there is an “earning gap” and not a “wage gap”. There are many industries and lines of work that women dominate. There are many women who run businesses and earn high income. There are more girls in Universities than boys on average. There isn’t some imaginary “glass ceiling” preventing women from pursuing their life goals. Women even have the right to paid maternity leave, what kind of man has the right to take time off from work for being a “father”? So much for being a “man’s world” as some like to say. Nice try blaming men but another truth is that women are also a part of our political and socially constructed society. They contribute to establishing the values that many men pursue. For example, if you do not get a good job with a high salary, own property etc. you are not considered marriage material if you fail to provide. Who do you think establishes these standards in men? I’ll give you a hint, it has “men” in it and starts with W. You’re suggesting that men historically have created these societal standard and are responsible. Have you considered why? Who do you think goes to fight in wars, women? You want to send Mothers and daughters to fight as soldiers? If the men don’t take on this responsibility then who will? Korean men are frustrated because society and individuals as yourself do not acknowledge that men don’t even have a choice in this matter. The least society can do is understand that men have just as many forms of oppression due their gender. As I said before, stop trying to make this about men vs women. Both suffer & experience various forms of oppression as a function of the state AND individuals of BOTH genders contributing to dysfunction. Modern day 3rd wave feminism is not about “equality” it’s about fighting men out of spite stemming from group collective victimization as with any Marxist movement. To put it simply, 3rd wave feminism isn’t about being on “equal” grounds, it’s about women who want the so called “benefits” of being male while also retaining the privilege of being female. That is not equality. Men are not disposable beings ready to throw away their lives for selfish politicians, they are not walking gold mines expected to pay for everything, they are human and deserve to take time off from work and be with their family, they are human beings as well. As I said before, it’s easy to say men have it easy until you actually take notice of the differences between men & women and how oppression exists on both sides, and both genders contribute to these values. The solution to this is recognizing that both parties suffer from the same problems expressed in different forms. Rather than dividing men & women and having them fight each other, it’s essential to communicate and understand each other and looking at the facts rather than acting out of spite and ego.

@@BK-mk3vi I agree with you that 3rd wave feminism is toxic for the most part. I mean hell, Gloria f'ing Steinem actually denigrated the young women attending Bernie Sanders rallies (instead of Hillary's), saying they were there because they just wanted to meet boys, ffs. Seeing her say something so sexist like that, because those young women didn't support her chosen candidate, was incredibly disappointing. However, I vehemently disagree with your assertion that the only reason women aren't taking the high risk jobs you cited was simply being that they just don't want them. That's just not true. All of those jobs are historically male dominated and it's intimidating as hell to work in those industries when for the most part, their mere presence simply isn't appreciated. It's much more complicated than simply writing it off as women just don't want those jobs due to them being high risk.

What happen to Groove Overdose? Did they break up because of compulsory service? I was stationed in South Korea for 6 years they were my favorite k pop group.
