‘Everyone tells me I’m crazy, and I actually am’: Katter
Since 1974 he has dominated the political scene, representing rural Queensland, described as Australia’s most rambunctious politician - Bob Katter sat down with Sky News host Chris Smith.
Mr Katter told Sky News he recently passed the baton onto his own son so that he can be “freed up to get at the throat of my adversaries”.
“The problem is, everyone tells me I’m crazy, and I am actually am,” he said.
When asked about his relationship with Anthony Albanese, Mr Katter said he had “great respect for Anthony… he spent a lot of time in the last election doing nothing else but bashing the Greens, which he enjoys immensely,” he said.
However, Mr Katter said “after the Otis meeting, he’s going to be singing a different tune”.
“Anthony has a passion for people and he also has a very good handle on development. It amazes me how good he is,” he said, however “the lily pad lefties and the Liberals most certainly had their man in Turnbull”.
When asked about political figures he admired, Mr Katter said “between Joh Bjelke-Petersen and Sir Leo Hielscher, “they gave Australia the coal industry… and there would be no Australia if we didn’t have coal”.

@@weirdo1083 ..... Fair comment, and in that regard I think of him as simply a speaker of what he believes to be true ( irrespective of the lefty / righty illusion ), and he is passionate about it. It's an awkward subject I know. He calls out fools, on both sides! Cheers mate for your reply.

The thing I like about Bob is that he doesn't give a stuff what people think. Yes he is radical however, right now Australia could do with more like him.
I like Katter , he seems to take a bit from both sides of politics , he displays most of the time common sense , seems at times unpredictable , sometimes he makes you cringe ,but that's just his style . He's obviously not mad ( insane ) he's been around too long , but certainly eccentric . I think he has his constituents at heart and sees their plight and suffering at the hands of mindless bureaucracy .

I know someone who wasnt allowed to sell insurance to the australian aboriginals. Hearing all this in this video, these indigenous people are massivly penalised unnecesarily. .i'm pakeha (white) but some white men particularly those in suits treat these indigenous people like shit. Im glad that no nonsense people like him are still around and still exist.
He's talkin about over Gov regulation. Agree totally. Had a gutful of it and left Australia in 2019. Never looked back. No road rules where I live. No speed cameras, no TFN. Just the way I like it. . uhuh . .uhuh.

@@alfieandme1289 doors opened up in the Philippines .. . Been over there a few times with my wife who is Philipino . Liked the location and could see opportunities. In Australia the speed camera targeting ( revenue raising) really pissed me off. Then they brought in same sex marriage. Thought I better get out before they made it compulsory. It will be downhill all the way from here, unless the Aussies fight back.
