I just stumbled across this quest on my first play through when I got bored and wanted to do some questing

I remember I doing this quest, but I when Ansell & Tomlin were about to reunite Ansell somehow died and Tomlin just ran away.

sounds like ansell got poisoned by the snakes on the way.

@@dugarrYT He didn't, I made sure he didn't get hit anything. He just randomly died when walking to his son. But it's whatever. I only did "An Innocent Man" thinking Ansell help you with the "Trials and Tribulations" quest, but he's against Fournival.

@@PhilUP If you wanted to save Fournival, you can never turn to Ansell. Ansell will be there to prove Fournival guilty. So best thing to do is just leave Ansell in Cassardis. By leaving Ansell alone, Ansell will continue to live in Chief Adaro's house along with his son.

I always do this quest along side meeting Fidel at night and meeting Alenore at night. Alenore's night quest will have you thrown in the dungeon. Just remember to bring 2 extra keys for Ansell's door and the door with the hidden escape route.

Meeting Fedal at night and gifting Aelinore a funny hat could of been on a same night as meeting the duke the first time If you go into a castle at night for appointment reasons, then your arisen will be excused on entering at night. All those other times when your arisen was thrown into a dungeon is because it wasn't the arisen's appointment. Meeting the duke is considered a main quest which means everybody will excused the arisen for showing up at night just as long as it is an appointment reason. If you go into a castle at night and have Festy give you a funny hat. Once the cutscene with the duke is over, then you can go upstairs and meet Fedal and then follow Fedal all the way outside. Then you can gift Aelinore that funny hat. During that night time activity, the arisen will be excused. Once you do this, then you can mix Arousing Suspicion and Innocent Man sidequest.

I'd imagine in the original you would only encounter this if you decided to head back to Witchwood to save Selene without starting Aldous' quests and dropped by Cassardis along the way. It's definitely very easy to miss though since you have no reason to go to Cassardis at this point in the game.

you can craft a skeleton key with a Shackle and some iron. i made a video about it

Another way to get that key can go like this. As soon as you complete all 4 wyrmhunt quest, do not go to the castle immediately. Instead. Use that time to escort everybody. One of them will be a candidate who will ask for an escort quest will be a forgery man called Montebanks. Once you escort a forgery man, he will reward you with 15 keys free of charge. You have a chance to get 15 keys before meeting the duke. So then after you meet the duke, you will be prepared to do Innocent Man sidequest and you would already be having 15 keys in your position. Montebanks will eventually ask for an escort quest the more you keep asking for a forging service.

Where do you get the skeleton key?

it can be crafted with a "Shackle" and some sort of iron like "hunk of Ore" or "Scrap Iron"
