Everybody's Talkin' - Harry Nilsson Cover
-------------
“Everybody’s Talking” is the opening track of our latest acoustic album “The Duo Sessions II”.
We only recently learned that the original is actually by a singer called Fred Neil (it’s a great version!) but only Harry Nilsson’s version reached the billboard charts in 1969 at number 6, after his version was used for the soundtrack to the movie “Midnight Cowboy”.
What a cool song, we loved giving it a go, especially the acoustic guitar picking part!
Members of our MLT Club have had access to this video/song for a few months now so if you too would like to watch some of the still exclusive Duo Session videos and always get early access, you can join us here: monalisa-twins.com/mltclub/

I have seen the film. Great movie, great song. It wasn't Nilsson's original. But Nilsson made it famous.Your version is also good and beatiful singing!

The book I mentioned details Nilsson's involvement with the film 🎥 and the roll-out of the theme, which was a big hit 🎯 A movie match -up if there ever was one! And now, the Twins have gone Hollywood. This cover makes you "Celluloid Heroes".... with a nod to Kinks, who you cover expertly! How DO you emulate Dave's manic lead breaks?!!! The Twins are the absolute bomb 💣!!!

I like that you used the soundtrack-like guitar finger-picking opening - it suits the song better (and is my favorite of all the versions of Harry's published) in my opinion. Your harmonies certainly pay homage to Harry's multi-track work he so loved. Thank you, this is lovely.
Two amazing voices 2 acoustic guitars and incredible Harmony. Just can't beat the old soul song and feel of the Mona Lisa twins. Rivals any of the greats of my youth.
What a wonderful arrangement of a classic song by an often under appreciated artist from my youth. Thank you, ladies. Well done!

Just a bit of information for you. Harry Nilsson didn't write this song. The song was written by Fred Neil.

Thank you for noticing this, and, yes, Fred also recorded the song before Harry Nilsson@@thaddeusk1262
The hits keep coming! I'm still listening to "Now and Then" at least a dozen times a day and now here's "Everybody's Talking." What a great performance. Mona captures the weariness and longing of the vocals beautifully, accentuated by Lisa's lovely harmony and picking. Great to see Dad has let Mona borrow his bass for her understated and tasteful accompaniment. Really a lovely song, beautifully done.
When Nillson came out with this song, I played it over and over again. Now the MonaLisa Twins Magic has put a new spin on this beautiful song. Beautiful Ladies. You definitely know how to stir the senses deep in our soles. 💛❤️
Ladies and Gentlemen the Fabulous MonaLisa Twins
Harmonies are absolutely heavenly! No one sings with this kind of beauty any more. Lifts my spirits so high when I hear this. I'm so glad this song is on your new album. Your new Duo Sessions II album is amazing, love every song on it.
Making dinner on a cold dark evening in Cambridge and this pops into my playlist. Beautifully done.❤
Whenever I need a breath of fresh air or a cup of sunshine or a Heart full of love I stop by here😎✌️🌻
The song was written by Fred Neil. Nilsson did a great cover, in the production style of his preferred composition of his own, "I Guess The Lord Must Be in New York City".
Great song to lead off the Duo Sessions II album. Just the first of 14 great tracks. I love Mona's vocals and Lisa's picking and when the harmonies are so good that they make you giggle, that is something special.
LOVE the beautiful tone from Lisa's guitar with the aggressive capo placement! Mona's lead vocals , bass and those incredible harmonies! INSTANT FAVORITE!
Those high notes are heaven.
Hi! You guys have some beautiful harmonies here! My father was the guy who wrote this song. a 60's artist named Fred Neil Check out his version and another one of his songs named Dolphins. I think you will like them. slainté 🍻😁😎
You really are incredibly special. And I say this for many reasons. You really love music!, your interpretations are majestic. Thank you for sharing with us music lovers all over the world. I wish you MonaLisa Twins the best and many successes. From Canada a warm greeting. Vlady
like it when Mona sings the lead wish she would do more.
Superb! Love how they remain true to the original but make it their own. Just fabulous! Now that's talent! 🙂

Harry did produce an excellent version of the song, made it his in a way. But Fred Neil created it and produced an excellent recorded version of his own. This is a nice version here. The more the merrier. @@toddswisher
MLT, an antidote to an insane world.
Wow fantastic as usual especially when you hit all those high notes in the last 30 seconds Harry would be so proud of your version , cheers from Canada!
A Great lead voice by Mona, wonderful harmony, nice guitar work, and your outfits are all perfect for the song; I love it!
Perhaps the only thing surpasses your growing beauty is your singing- the harmonies, the chemistry you both still have together, & how you do your covers. Thank you, ladies.
Wonderful! Great harmonies and a focus on the music. Many thumbs up.
What an absolutely beautiful rendition, ladies. I'm blown away!
Boy, another surprise for me today! Don't think I caught this one. I better buy volume 2 soon. Lol This song puts me watching the very Dark Midnight Cowboy movie. As a teen we had quite a few dark movies in late 60s and 70s. Like this one and Looking out for Mr Goodbar. Yes, I saw questionable movies in my early teens. Lol Loved the rendition and the chuckle. Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. Stay Groovy!🍻♥️🌹🤘
You are a Musical Pair Fantastic. I love you.
One of the most beautiful covers, of this beautiful song.
Thank you so much Mona and Lisa! It`s one of my favorite songs! Such a great performance! 💗
One of my all time favourites. Played so gorgeously.
There really are NO words to describe your talents, Ladies! This was PERFECTION!
These girls continue to amaze me.
Way to hit those high notes girls. You sounded awesome. 😁
Amazing cover ❤
Beautifully done, you give a whole new meaning to the word "Flashbacks" thank you for taking me back to my youth again. Anyone else caught themselves looking around the house for what was making the noise from the foot tambourine at the start? 🧐
I see your maturity in this song. The melody seems fuller.
Mona and Lisa, thank you for the wonderful music. I recently found you both and as I listen to all the songs you do, I am simply amazed.
Great Cover Ladies! One of my favourite guitar tracks and Films (Midnight Cowbow)
Totally beautiful. At least as good if not better than the original. What is really lovely, or I hope so, is the pleasure you appear to have of singing and playing together.
I love all of your work. Everything you do is golden. You’re both so beautiful and sing and play so wonderfully well, you make my eyes sweat.
Thank you. That was wonderful!
Thank you , my favorite TWINS.🥰
Harry would most definitely approve. Great job, ladies ❤
laaalalala laalalala laa lalaa laaaaaaahuuuuuuuuu
That was so beautiful! I will listen to that over and over!
Beautiful song, perfectly done, and what wonderful harmony - it is hard for me to come up with the right words to describe this song. I find myself just listening and letting your music take me away.
Lovely voices; beautiful atmosphere. "I'm goin' where the sun keeps shinin' Through the pourin' rain . . ." :)
Excellent version of this wonderful song.
Duo sessions , always a favorite ❤.
golden fingers and diamond voices:))
Perfection.
Luv the pulsating guitar. And the symphonic harmonies. I do remember the movie - great movie.
You Two are fantastic, playing all the great songs I grew up with! You make them sound better than the oringal ones
Everybody's talkin' 'bout how fab the twins are, ev'ry time. 😊
Ah yes Harry Nilsson. You both do the song and music justice. Love your interpretation of this song. Wonderfull. ❤
When I was basically homeless, I kept expecting an RV to pull in my spot and pick me up with my meager belongings and my wire guitar that I believe had been a CD rack. I called it my skeleton guitar. I was so ready to hit Music City Road and hug you girls for singing within my souls heart and mind.
Une guitare acoustique et une basse + deux belles voix = une jolie interprétation de "Everybody's Talking" . Merci MonaLisa Twins.
You girls' harmonies do full justice to this beautiful song. ❤
Another beautiful cover by these 2 lovely ladies...( no longer "girls") 😉
Saw that look between the girls the first time they hit the high note. It was priceless. Great, great job M&L. I was a huge Nilsson fan and this was him at his best. Harry would have been proud. (BTW: I'm still waiting to hear back from Paul and Ringo about how much better Mona and Lisa performed "Now and Then" than they did). 0:03
Wow! Just wow! The purity of every element of this performance takes me to a better world.
Mona and Lisa,I hope you can do a rendition of the song American Pie,someday. You two are truly one of a kind.
Wow,I have been trying to do that song for years now and you two do that so perfectly, well done.
Very nice!
Great job ladies!! 🩷🩷🩷🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much, twins. (And of course, Nilsson. If I spelled his name right)
Beautiful in every sense of the word
This is wonderful, thank you. I'll be listening to this one a few more times. Nice one Mona and Lisa and thankyou for sharing.
Fabulous harmony. You gals blow me away!
Love Harry Nilsson!!

Beautiful.
First heard this song on an album by Fred Neil, who wrote and first recorded the song in 1966.
Really nice .......Better than really nice as in REALLY REALLY nice and then some more nice on top of that..
Magnifying rendition! With peace and love from Siberia.
That is just ........brilliant!
Love these girls❤❤❤❤❤
WOW! Terrific playing and harmonizing, ladies! Y'all just keep surprising with the material you cover. Nice going. Peace...

What a beautiful rendition. You ladies always excel in these simple formats. "The Duo Sessions II" has been a perfect follow up to the first Duo Sessions album.
Absolutely AMAZING! ❤

What a perfect song for you to do! What a mesmerizing performance!
So different from the original, yet so beautiful.
Outstanding. 🤗👍👌
You two are wonderful. Keep doing what you are doing.
Great job. The guitar work is spot on and the chocolate hofner violin, it's all too nice!
Smooth. Love the harmony!
Wonderful!
Love this video you’ve done a great arrangement and congrats on hitting those really high notes 😊 I do mean version of this song (without the high notes) on my ukulele
